Mystical II: Forgotten Knowledge has modest official PC requirements, but its Steam Deck status is still unknown. The Windows Steam version lists a 64-bit Windows 10 PC, a dual-core 2 GHz processor, 4 GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics 520-class graphics, DirectX 11 and 600 MB of storage as the minimum. A Steam Deck OLED is substantially more powerful on paper, yet Valve has not completed its compatibility review: the store says “Steam is learning about this game,” not Verified, Playable or Unsupported. Because the game has no native Linux build or listed full controller support, the sensible pre-purchase check is the free Windows demo installed directly on your Deck. It includes the tutorial and all 10 Village stages and is available before the planned 3 December 2026 launch.
What are the Mystical II: Forgotten Knowledge system requirements?
The official Steam listing gives unusually low requirements for a modern release. The minimum targets an older office laptop with integrated graphics, while the recommended tier adds memory and CPU headroom rather than demanding a modern gaming GPU.
| Requirement | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10, 64-bit | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit |
| Processor | Dual-core, 2 GHz | Quad-core |
| Memory | 4 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Intel HD Graphics 520 or equivalent integrated graphics | Dedicated graphics card or recent integrated graphics |
| API | DirectX 11 | DirectX 11 |
| Storage | 600 MB available | 600 MB available |
| Input and connection | Mouse or keyboard; no internet connection needed | Not separately stated |
These figures come from the Valve Steam listing for the Windows build and were current in 2026. The store does not state a target resolution, frame rate, graphics presets or shader model beyond DirectX 11, so the table cannot be turned into a guaranteed FPS prediction. It is also a 2D match-and-collect puzzle game rather than a demanding 3D or ray-traced title; the low floor is consistent with that design, but no independent performance test has been published.

Windows version
You need a 64-bit installation of Windows 10 at minimum. Windows 11 is included only in the recommended listing, and there is no native macOS or Linux version in the Steam platform data. A 32-bit Windows installation is outside the published requirement even if the hardware is otherwise fast enough.

Processor and memory
The minimum is a dual-core CPU running at 2 GHz and 4 GB of RAM. The recommended specification moves to a generic quad-core processor and 8 GB of RAM; it does not identify a particular Intel, AMD or ARM model. On a shared family or work laptop, background applications can consume a large part of a 4 GB system, so closing browsers and launchers is a practical way to preserve headroom without claiming a performance result.
Graphics and DirectX
Intel HD Graphics 520 or an equivalent integrated GPU is the named floor. The recommended line accepts either a dedicated card or a recent integrated GPU, still using DirectX 11. The developer has not published a required VRAM amount, feature-level detail, resolution target or frame-rate target; do not treat an unfamiliar GPU name as automatically equivalent without checking its DirectX 11 support.
Storage and internet
The listing asks for 600 MB of available disk space in both tiers. The game can be played fully offline, and the minimum notes explicitly say that no internet connection is needed. Steam still needs an online connection for downloading, updates, licence checks when applicable and synchronising cloud saves.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Is Mystical II: Forgotten Knowledge Steam Deck Verified?
No. As of the compatibility information checked on 30 October 2026, Valve had not assigned a public Deck badge. The store feature row reads “Steam is learning about this game,” and Valve’s compatibility response for app 5464010 reports an unresolved category with no checklist items. That is an unrated state, not a failing result.
What the missing badge tells you
Valve defines the Unknown state as: “This game has not completed the compatibility review process. Information about how the game will play on this device is unavailable.” Therefore you should not label Mystical II Verified, Playable or Unsupported. A later review could add any of those labels, and SteamOS, Proton and the game itself may also receive updates before launch.

For context, a Verified rating means Valve’s checks pass without configuration work; Playable means the game functions but may require manual steps such as a community control layout or touchscreen navigation; Unsupported means incompatibility with Proton or specific hardware prevents it from functioning. None of those conclusions has been published for Mystical II.
Will Mystical II run on a Steam Deck?
There are three separate questions: whether the hardware is sufficient, whether the Windows build behaves correctly through Proton, and whether the controls are practical. The first looks favourable on specifications alone; the latter two remain unconfirmed until Valve or players provide evidence.
1. Hardware headroom is well above the listed floor
Valve’s current Steam Deck OLED specification lists a 6 nm AMD APU with a Zen 2 four-core/eight-thread CPU at 2.4–3.5 GHz, 16 GB of LPDDR5 memory and eight RDNA 2 GPU compute units at up to 1.6 TFLOPS FP32. Its 7.4-inch display is 1280×800 with touch input. Those figures exceed Mystical II’s published dual-core, 4 GB and Intel HD 520 minimums, as well as the generic recommended CPU and memory tier.
This is a comparison of specification sheets, not a frame-rate guarantee. No source has published a measured FPS, frame-time result, battery-life figure or power draw for the game on either Deck model. The OLED’s 512 GB or 1 TB internal storage also leaves ample room for a 600 MB installation, but available space can vary after SteamOS updates and other games.
2. SteamOS will use Proton for the Windows build
The Steam platform data lists Windows only. On SteamOS, that means the game would run through Proton, Valve’s compatibility layer that combines a modified Wine environment with graphics API implementations. Proton is continually updated and compatibility is specific to each title; a lightweight DirectX 11 puzzle game may be a reasonable candidate, but the official information does not establish that it launches or renders correctly on Deck.

There were no ProtonDB reports available for app 5464010 in the information reviewed. Do not rely on a claim that it “just works” until a player report, developer update or Valve badge documents the behaviour.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →3. Input is the biggest known caveat
The store describes play with a mouse or keyboard. Steam’s accessibility categories include Keyboard Only Option, Mouse Only Option and Touch Only Option, while neither Full Controller Support nor Partial Controller Support appears in the feature list. The Touch Only tag is useful on a Deck because the OLED has a touchscreen; its haptic trackpads can also emulate a mouse. However, the presence of a touchscreen tag does not promise that every menu is comfortable at 800p, nor does it make the ABXY controls automatically supported.
Plan on using touch, a trackpad-as-mouse layout or a paired Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. A USB mouse is optional rather than required, because the Deck’s built-in touch and trackpads can cover the input methods the store names.
How can you check Deck compatibility before buying?
The free demo is the most honest device-specific check because it exercises the actual Windows game package on your hardware. It is a practical test for launching, display scaling, touch and trackpad control, but it cannot prove that every later stage or the final release will behave identically.
- Open the Mystical II Steam store page on the Deck. Find the separate demo entry, whose app ID is 5490640 and whose release date is 29 October 2026.
- Choose Download or Install for the demo. The demo is free and lists Windows as its platform, so SteamOS will use Proton on the Deck.
- Play the filmed tutorial. It contains six tutorial chapters, giving you a chance to inspect text size, menus and input prompts.
- Complete the Village content. The demo includes all 10 Village stages. Try touch first, then the trackpad as a mouse; pair a Bluetooth or USB mouse and keyboard if that is your preferred setup.
- Check offline behaviour. After installation, put Steam in offline mode and confirm that the demo starts and saves locally. Cloud synchronisation cannot be checked while offline.
- Decide using your own result. If controls, text scaling or Proton launch behaviour are unacceptable, wait for a Valve badge or a developer update rather than assuming the full game will fix the issue.
What is included in the full game and when does it launch?
Forgeur Games describes Mystical II as a single-player medieval puzzle game from a one-person studio. The planned full release is Thursday, 3 December 2026 at 19:00 CET / 10:00 PST. The Games Press fact sheet lists a launch price of €4.99 / $4.99, with 20% off through 10 December 2026; because the title was still coming soon, that price was not yet shown in a live Steam purchase widget when the information was collected.

A carrying bag holds 15 objects, and the release is slated to include 22 Steam achievements, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing. The demo’s 10 Village stages are only a portion of that content and do not promise the full game’s achievement or cloud-save features.
How does playing on Windows compare with playing on Deck?
| Area | Windows PC | Steam Deck |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Native 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 | SteamOS 3 with Proton running the Windows build |
| Official compatibility status | No Deck badge is relevant | Unknown/unrated; store says “Steam is learning about this game” |
| Hardware reference | Must meet the published 4 GB/dual-core/HD 520 floor | OLED specification is above that floor on paper |
| Controls | Mouse or keyboard | Touchscreen, trackpads or paired mouse/keyboard; no listed controller-support category |
| Connectivity | Playable offline; internet needed for Steam downloads and cloud sync | Playable offline; cloud sync requires Steam to reconnect |
| Pre-purchase check | Install the free demo on the target PC | Install and play the demo on the Deck itself |
What accessibility and language features are listed?
The interface languages are English and French. The store lists Color Alternatives, Custom Volume Controls, Playable without Timed Input, Save Anytime, Keyboard Only Option, Mouse Only Option and Touch Only Option. “Playable without Timed Input” does not mean every stage lacks timers: the game’s description still refers to overflowing columns and empty hourglasses as fail states. It indicates that the developer has provided a way to play without required timed input.
The store also discloses that artwork, stage backdrops, page images, page text and the English translation were created with help from generative AI tools, then selected, retouched or integrated by the developer. The game does not generate content during play; Games Press says the design, rules and 50 stages are the developer’s own work.

Because no official compatibility checklist exists yet, troubleshoot the specific layer that fails rather than treating every issue as a hardware limitation.
Recommended Free Tools
- It does not launch: confirm the demo is installed, restart Steam, and try the current Proton version offered by Steam. Record the exact error and check for a developer or Valve update.
- Menus are awkward: switch between touchscreen and trackpad input, increase SteamOS display scaling if needed, and try a community layout only if one becomes available. A Playable badge, if later assigned, can indicate manual configuration requirements.
- Text or artwork is clipped: test the demo at the Deck’s native 1280×800 display and inspect in-game settings before changing global scaling. The store does not publish a target resolution, so clipping should be reported rather than explained by an invented requirement.
- Cloud saves are missing: cloud synchronisation requires an online Steam session. Offline play and cloud syncing are separate features.
Should you buy Mystical II for a Steam Deck?
Buy only if you are comfortable with an unrated Windows game and the demo works acceptably on your own Deck. The hardware comparison is encouraging, offline play is explicitly supported, and Touch Only input gives you a plausible handheld control path. The unresolved Proton status, absent controller-support categories and unknown 800p interface behaviour are the reasons to test before paying rather than treating the game as Deck-certified.

On a Windows PC that meets the published requirements, the decision is simpler: the native platform is supported, the installation is only 600 MB, and the minimum specification is low. In either case, recheck the Steam compatibility row and requirements close to the 3 December 2026 launch because Valve’s review, the price window and the demo may change.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Mystical II demo include the whole game?
No. The free demo contains the six-chapter filmed tutorial and the 10 stages in the Village. The planned release expands to 50 stages in five realms, and the developer has not promised that the demo carries the full game’s achievements or Steam Cloud data.
Can I play Mystical II offline on Steam Deck?
The store says the game is fully offline and the minimum notes say no internet connection is needed. You still need to connect Steam to download the demo or game, and Steam Cloud can synchronize only when the Deck is online.
Will an Xbox-style controller work with Mystical II?
Steam does not list Full Controller Support or Partial Controller Support for the game. The documented input paths are touch, mouse and keyboard, so a Deck owner should plan around the touchscreen, trackpads or a paired mouse and keyboard rather than assume ABXY controls are mapped.
Could the Steam Deck rating change before release?
Yes. “Steam is learning about this game” means Valve’s review is incomplete, and the status can change after testing or a game update. Check the store row again near and after 3 December 2026 instead of relying on the pre-launch Unknown state.
