MW4 DMZ Orders are three-task-at-a-time objectives tracked from the DMZ Orders station in the Forward Operating Base (FOB), with the active Order also shown on your HUD. Finish all three Orders on a page, then successfully exfil to advance and receive the page reward. For a new player, the cleanest start is to complete the three onboarding Orders, accept the next transmission, and choose a chapter; Human Intel is the gentlest first route, while Underground and Counterfeit offer different equipment and mission unlocks.
Where do I find and track MW4 DMZ Orders?
Open Orders at the DMZ Orders station in the FOB. Activision’s 9 October 2026 FOB guide says Orders are available immediately and also appear in the top corner of the FOB HUD. The FOB list is labeled “DMZ ORDERS PG n”; while deployed, your current Order appears in the upper-right HUD panel. Use the “VIEW ORDERS” and “COLLAPSE” prompts under the FOB list to expand or tuck it away.
An Order page contains three Orders, and each Order can contain one to three tasks with visible counters—for example, “Loot 30 Chemicals 0/30.” Actions that match a task increment its counter. The page is not complete until every task on all three Orders is done. The cash and gear bundle is a page reward, not a separate payout for each individual Order.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsAfter completing a page, successfully exfil. Community guides report that a new or returning Caller then contacts you at the FOB with the next page; after the first page, accept the incoming transmission to reach chapter selection. Page rewards are shown on the extraction summary and go to your Stash. COD Central cautioned that summaries after Pages 10 and 11 sometimes showed the previous chapter’s Orders or rewards, so check the Stash if the summary looks wrong.

Keep the in-game list as your source of truth
DMZMap, DMZ Guides, and MW4 Map offer browser checklists that can help you keep notes. MW4 Map says its tracker saves in the browser on the phone or computer where you use it, so it will not necessarily follow you to another device. These trackers are overlays; your Activision-account progress is reflected in the FOB. Read the in-game reward panel before counting on a disputed recipe or item.
What should a new DMZ player do first?
Start with Orders rather than trying to clear unrelated challenges. The onboarding page teaches the Stash, firing range, and deployment flow; later Orders introduce Hajin locations, recipes, and FOB systems. DMZ is included with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 rather than being a free standalone download. Activision lists the digital Standard and Vault Editions for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, Battle.net, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. The reported early-access dates were 20 October 2026 for digital pre-orders and 23 October for full launch.
- Gear Up: At the Stash/Loadout, equip a weapon, backpack, armor vest, and Medkit.
- Crackshot: Knock down three targets at the firing range in the FOB grove.
- First Op: From Deploy, select Hajin and Dynamic Operations, then infiltrate. Community walkthroughs say deploying is enough; extracting is not required for this Order.
- Accept the transmission: Return to the FOB, accept the incoming transmission, and choose a chapter. The in-game chapter screen says you will complete all chapters over time, so this sets the order, not an irreversible route.
- Review all three Orders on the new page before deploying: Plan a route that can combine a location objective, a print job, and an extraction task where possible.
- Print before you need the item: If an Order says “Print,” use the 3D Printer. Simply looting or carrying the same kind of gear does not satisfy the print task.
- Finish the page and exfil: Confirm the counters, extract, collect the page reward, and accept the next Caller briefing.
Some recipes are prerequisites for later tasks. Human Intel’s Flash recipe is used for Blindness; Counterfeit’s Recon Drone recipe is needed for Eyes Everywhere; Underground’s DDOS and Decoy recipes feed Dead Battery and Death From Above. The Page 11 Inflatable Decoy is relevant to The Grid’s “I’m Over Here,” while its C4 recipe is relevant to Hornet’s Nest’s “Click, Boom.” Operation Silent Ledger unlocks the Polaris DAGOR A1 infil used by a Hornet’s Nest task.

| Chapter | Typical tasks | Early reward focus | Ending Story Mission and unique reward | Good first choice if… |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Human Intel | Hunt Lieutenant tower terminal; clinic supplies and Chemicals; clear a Compound for Medical Extraction Intel. | Basic Triage Kit, Flash recipe, and UAV support (the exact UAV count is disputed). | Operation Critical Extraction at Mirae General Hospital; community lists report a Mirae Electrical Room Key, $25,000 DMZ Cash, and a Defibrillator. | You want medical support and a comparatively gentle first route through clinics, compounds, and Hunt towers. |
| Underground | SAM site and cargo-chopper crate; steal, refuel, and repair a vehicle; transmitters at radio towers and La Grande Vie, Songdo Wharf. | DDOS, Decoy Grenade, and Night Vision Goggles recipes; Basic Restock Kit. | Operation Shopping Hacks at NuriGO Mall; community lists report a Coin Mining Den Key, $25,000 DMZ Cash, and Night Vision Goggles. | You want utility recipes and are comfortable with vehicle and radio-tower objectives; Night Vision Goggles suit the dark mall mission. |
| Counterfeit | Search a Police Station and eliminate soldiers there; open a safe and extract value; use the Deadtown UAV Tower to target soldiers and loot Counterfeit Cash. | Recon Drone recipe and Explosives Equipment Kit. | Operation Silent Ledger at Heavenly Luck Casino in Cheongun Village; community lists report a Gold Bar, Counting Room Vault key, and Polaris DAGOR A1 infil unlock. | You want reconnaissance and explosives equipment, or want the Polaris DAGOR infil used by a later Hornet’s Nest Order. |
Each of these chapters has two page bundles. Community checklists report 20,000 DMZ Cash per completed page and an Operator Rescue Beacon on each chapter’s second page. The first chapter pick is therefore a sequencing decision, not a permanent class or faction choice.
How many DMZ Orders are there in MW4?
There is no official complete Activision Orders table in the 9 October FOB guide. Launch-week community trackers were still changing: DMZMap and VGKami listed 66 discovered Orders on 27–28 October 2026, COD Central documented 21 pages of three Orders each on 29 October, and DMZ Guides listed 16 pages and 44 tasks in a partial checklist. Treat “dozens of Orders” as the reliable scale, not one settled final count.
The named-page checklist below compiles community observations through 29 October 2026. “Fixed” means the page number is reported as stable; chapter pages can shift in displayed numbering depending on the first chapter you selected. C means multiple guides reported the entry as confirmed; R means it remained community-reported, disputed, or incompletely cross-checked at that date. The cash figure is a commonly reported shared page bundle, not an official Activision figure.

| Page 21 | Hard Carry; Stalking the Stalker; Operation Fallen Ember | Triage Kit, Operator Rescue Beacon, Weapon Insurance Contract | R; one walkthrough reported a temporary page-label glitch |
| Page 22, listed by DMZMap only | DRC; Unstoppable; Astronaut | 20,000 DMZ Cash, High-Tenacity Fibers x2, Explosives Equipment Kit | R; not included in COD Central’s 29 October walkthrough |
COD Central’s launch-week walkthrough puts The Grid or Hornet’s Nest at the chapter choice after Page 11. The Grid ends with Operation Grid Assault and a Heli infil unlock; Hornet’s Nest ends with Operation Iron Citadel and an LTV infil unlock. Operation Fallen Ember, at Haneul Nuclear Reactor, sits after both in the Story Mission tree and is associated with a Cargo Plane infil unlock. These later unlocks and page placements are community reports rather than a complete official order map.

What are the early Order objectives, and what commonly fails to count?
Use the wording on the active Order, especially when an action sounds similar but is not the one requested. These are the task descriptions reported for the early pages.
Page 1: onboarding
- Gear Up: Equip a Weapon, a Backpack, an Armor Vest, and a Medkit from your Stash.
- Crackshot: Knock Down 3 Firing Range Targets.
- First Op: Deploy to DMZ in Dynamic Ops.
Human Intel 1/2
- Hunter: Locate and climb a Hunt Lieutenant Tower, then use the terminal at the top to locate the nearest Lieutenant. A kill is not required for this task.
- Triage Protocol: Head to a Clinic, loot a Bandage, and loot 30 Chemicals.
- No One Left: Clear a Compound and loot the dropped Medical Extraction Intel.
Human Intel 2/2 and Page 4
- Blindness: Print 4 Flash Grenades and kill 8 Flashed Enemies.
- Payment Due: Collect a Dynamic Op Phone and earn 11,500 DMZ Cash from completing Dynamic Ops. The cash is an objective reward, not ordinary money looted elsewhere.
- Operation Critical Extraction: Complete the Story Mission.
- Operation Rewards: Collect a Dynamic Op Phone in Cheongun Village, complete a Dynamic Op, and loot a Dynamic Op Crate. A single phone run in that village can advance all three tasks.
- Preparation: Print a Medium Backpack and print a 2-Plate Armor Vest. Carrying looted equipment does not substitute for printing it.
- Work Quietly: Gunsmith a Suppressor onto a weapon, print a Throwing Knife, and kill 8 enemies in a row without taking damage.
Counterfeit 1/2
- Hostile Force: Locate and enter a Police Station, search 3 containers, and eliminate 5 soldiers while inside. The stations are marked with a shield icon; community maps identify locations including NuriGO Mall and Wolves Stadium.
- Robbery: Open a safe and extract with a combined 5,000 value in backpack and loadout. COD Central mapped 21 safes, but treat those locations as a player-verified list, not an official map layer.
- Execute Intel: Hack a UAV Tower in Deadtown, kill 5 NK soldiers pinged by a UAV Tower, and loot Counterfeit Cash dropped by pinged soldiers.
Three lookalike actions are especially easy to confuse. Selecting Dynamic Operations from the Deploy menu does not count as collecting the physical Dynamic Op Phone. Printing Orders require using the 3D Printer, not acquiring an item from a container. Payment Due requires cash earned from completing Dynamic Ops, not just cash already carried or looted.
What rewards do Orders unlock, and when?
Orders are also a route through FOB progression. Activision’s 9 October 2026 FOB guide gives these unlock thresholds and describes multiple ways to obtain recipes and kits.
Recommended Free Tools
| FOB system or unlock | Reported requirement or source | Why it matters to Orders |
|---|---|---|
| 3D Printer | DMZ Player Level 2 | Print recipes used by tasks such as Blindness, Eyes Everywhere, and Preparation. Recipes can come from leveling, Orders, or extracting a recipe. |
| Boss Board | After completing your second DMZ Order, per Activision | Pay DMZ Cash for Lieutenant intel; Commander intel is free. Some player guides describe the station activating after the second page, so check the FOB for its actual availability. |
| Vendor | DMZ Player Level 5 | Daily rotating stock; needed for Worth Every Penny. |
| Gunsmith | DMZ Player Level 10 | Needed to add a suppressor for Work Quietly and buy a gun with three attachments for Arms Deal. |
| Dog Tag Case | DMZ Player Level 20 | A later FOB system; Activision’s DMZ progression track reaches Level 70. |
Activision also lists Operators, Orders, Stash/Loadout, Firing Range, Survival Kits, Bounty Leaderboard, DMZ Progression, and Deploy as available immediately. Its FOB guide says Survival Kits can come from leveling, completing Orders and Missions, and events; unopened Triage, Restock, Explosives, SERE, Armor, and Helmeted Armor kits stack at the Survival Kits station. A recipe is consumed at exfil and, according to Call of Duty Staff’s 2026 description, pays 5,000 DMZ Cash when extracted.

Players begin with two Active Duty Operator slots; the Vault Edition starts with three and includes a Deployment Kit of Weapon Insurance Contracts x2, Operator Rescue Beacons x2, Fulton Drop Markers x2, Medium Backpacks x2, and 2-Plate Carriers x2. These extras are not requirements for Orders. Rescue Beacons also matter after a failed deployment: MW4 Map reports that a dead Operator goes MIA until rescued with DMZ Cash, with the cost scaling by Trait Points, or dismissed; a recurring Operator Rescue Beacon page reward makes a rescue free.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can Story Missions count toward Orders?
Yes. Story Missions can be launched separately from your active Orders, and an objective that matches an Order on your current page can progress at the same time. Activision’s FOB guide specifically advises checking the Story Mission against the squad’s active Orders for overlap. The mission must still be completed if the Order calls for it.
Community sources list six Story Missions and report $25,000 DMZ Cash for each; some also provide a unique item or infil unlock. This cash figure comes from MW4 Map, not an official payout table.

The Story Missions tab is separate from Orders. The Weekly Story Mission card is also a separate challenge; AllThingsHow reported its UI as “WEEKLY COMPLETION 0/3.” The Page 19 Order Philanthropist asks players to finish that weekly challenge. Payment Due’s phone is an in-world object rather than a choice in the Deploy menu.

What happens if I fail to exfil?
MW4 Map reports that a failed exfil preserves earned XP, while carried items are lost unless protected in a Secure Slot. The Operator who died becomes MIA, which can interrupt your next run until you pay to rescue them or dismiss them. A Rescue Beacon can avoid the rescue fee when available. This is why a completed Order counter and a completed page reward are different milestones: do not assume the page bundle has been secured until the successful exfil and reward have registered.
Why are my DMZ Orders on a different page number?
Because the first chapter choice changes where chapter pages appear in the sequence. Fixed pages keep their numbering, but Human Intel, Counterfeit, and Underground pages can slide depending on the order chosen. Track the exact Order names rather than relying on a guide’s page number alone.
Counts and later rewards were still unsettled six days after launch. The page-22 listing appeared in DMZMap and VGKami but not COD Central’s 29 October walkthrough; several mid- and late-page rewards also carried unconfirmed labels or conflicting item names. Season 1, called DMZ X01 on a community hub and flagged for 6 November 2026, may change the live list; no available announcement confirms that it adds Orders.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do MW4 DMZ Orders reset after a season update?
The available Season 1 announcement does not establish whether DMZ Orders reset, persist, or receive new pages. Check the live FOB Orders panel after an update rather than assuming a community checklist still matches the current build.
Can my squadmates progress an Order if they are on a different chapter?
The official FOB guide recommends checking your Story Mission against both your own and your squadmates’ current Orders for objectives that can be completed together. The available data does not establish that a squadmate’s different chapter automatically shares your Order progress, so verify each player’s counters.
Does an extracted recipe stay in my inventory?
Call of Duty Staff describes a recipe as consumed at exfil, with a 5,000 DMZ Cash payout. The printer recipe is therefore a progression/reward item rather than a permanent physical recipe to keep in your Stash.
What is the difference between a DMZ Order and a Story Mission?
An Order belongs to the page-based objective system at the FOB, while Story Missions are a separate Deploy type and tab. Their objectives can overlap when a matching Order is active, but launching a Story Mission does not replace the need to finish the other Orders on a page.
