Redeem an MTG Arena code either in the Store tab of the Windows or macOS client, or at myaccounts.wizards.com under Redeem A Code. iPhone and Android players must use the website; the mobile app has no code-entry box. After a website redemption, reopen Arena and visit Store. If a code fails, check spelling, capitalization, spaces, expiration, account limits and region restrictions before assuming your collection is broken.
Many current free rewards are not codes at all. Wizards now sends set packs and cosmetics through the in-game Player Inbox, while physical starter kits can contain one-use Arena code cards. The guide below separates rejected codes from rewards that were accepted but are hidden in the inbox, collection filters or another account.
At a glance
| Name | Best for | Key spec | Platforms | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| In-game Store | Desktop players with the client installed | Store tab; enter the code in the Redeem Code box and press Enter; reward should attach automatically | Windows and macOS client | Oct 2026 |
| Wizards account website | Players who do not want to launch Arena | Sign in, choose Redeem A Code, submit, then open Store in Arena to receive the item | Any desktop or mobile browser | Oct 2026 |
| Mobile browser route | iPhone and Android players | The app cannot redeem codes; use the website with the same Arena account and then relaunch the app | iOS and Android plus a browser | Oct 2026 |
What kind of MTG Arena reward do you have?
The correct fix depends on whether you have a typed promo code, a unique product code, an inbox attachment or an event prize. These systems do not share the same delivery process.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches| Reward type | Where it comes from | What to do | Typical delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared public promo | Historically Play[SET], XP or cosmetic campaigns | Try it once in Store or on the account website; expect many old strings to be expired | Account grant after successful redemption |
| Unique product code | Starter kits, some older Prerelease products and occasional Secret Lair releases | Use the Arena Store or Wizards account site; a used card cannot be redeemed again | Usually an automatic grant; some older codes show only a success prompt |
| Player Inbox attachment | Set launches, tutorials, promotions and other account messages | Open the inbox and claim the attachment | Visible in the inbox until its expiration; expired unclaimed attachments can be added silently |
| Event prize | Arena Direct or other esports and organized-play events | Wait for the i-Payout eWallet email and follow the prize instructions | Email generally within about two weeks; Arena Direct setup is quoted as 7–14 business days |
How do I redeem MTG Arena codes on PC or Mac?
Use the desktop client’s Store tab. Wizards’ support screenshots focus on the website, but current desktop guides place the client field in Store, usually as a small Redeem Code box at the upper right. One guide places it at the bottom, so search the entire Store page if the label has moved.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Launch Magic: The Gathering Arena on Windows or macOS and sign in to the account that should receive the reward.
- Select Store on the top navigation bar.
- Locate Redeem Code. It is normally an oval field at the top right; scan the bottom of the Store page as well if necessary.
- Paste the code exactly as printed, retaining hyphens. Do not add a space before or after it.
- Press Enter. A successful submission should attach the reward to that account.
Codes are case-sensitive according to Wizards. If you copied the code from a web page, paste it and remove any leading or trailing whitespace rather than retyping characters that may look alike.
How do I enter codes through the Wizards account website?
The browser route works without launching the game and is the required route for mobile users.
- Open myaccounts.wizards.com.
- Sign in with the exact credentials used for MTG Arena.
- Find the text box under Redeem A Code.
- Enter the code, preserving capitalization and any printed hyphens.
- Click Redeem and wait for the confirmation message. The website success notice is recorded as “Code redeemed successfully.”
- Open Arena and visit Store. Wizards says this Store visit delivers the redeemed items to the client.
If you start inside Arena, the Settings gear and Account area can open account preferences in a browser, but that embedded route is less reliable than a normal browser. Go directly to the account site when possible.

No. Wizards’ Store FAQ states, “YOU CAN NOT REDEEM CODES ON THE MOBILE VERSION OF THE APP AT THIS TIME.” There is no Redeem Code bar in the iOS or Android client.
- Open a normal mobile browser and go to myaccounts.wizards.com.
- Sign in with the same Wizards account linked to your mobile Arena profile.
- Choose Redeem A Code, submit the code and wait for the success notice.
- Close and reopen the Arena app.
- Open Store so the app synchronizes the grant.
Do not look for a gift-code control in a generic profile or event menu. Those instructions belong to other games, not the documented Arena flow.
Why does MTG Arena say “Redeem Code Failure”?
Wizards defines this failure as an expired, incorrect or already redeemed code. The matching client wording is: “This code is not valid or has already been used the maximum number of times for this account.” It is not an indication of a hidden inventory bug.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Check capitalization: Wizards says codes are case-sensitive. A 2019 secondary article says otherwise, but the current official rule should govern.
- Remove spaces: copy and paste, then delete any space before or after the string. Copying from a formatted page can introduce invisible whitespace.
- Check account limits: most codes are limited to one use per account. Submitting the same code again will fail even if another account can still use a shared code.
- Confirm the product: an Arena code is not a Magic Online code, a Secret Lair shipping key or an event eWallet instruction.
- Check age and status: many Play* and XP strings from 2021–2023 are listed as expired by hobby publications. Public lists disagree about a few 2026 entries, so do not treat an old roundup as proof that a code is live.
- Check region: some physical products say Arena code cards are available only in select regions. A regional package without a digital card cannot generate an Arena grant.
- Consider prior use: an opened or second-hand starter kit may contain a code that someone already redeemed.
Submit a rejected code once after correcting these issues. Repeated attempts do not restore a code that has reached its one-use limit or expired.

A success message and an empty-looking screen are different from a rejection. Work through the delivery checks in this order.
1. Visit Store after a website redemption
The official website flow expects you to open Arena and select Store after redeeming. Skipping that visit can leave the item unapplied in the client view. Relaunching the app also forces a fresh account sync.
2. Check the Player Inbox
Since the Alchemy: The Brothers’ War release in 2022, Wizards has used the Player Inbox for promotional packs, cosmetics, news and qualification messages. The inbox appears at the top right of the Arena interface; unread messages show a count, and attachments use a paperclip indicator.
Open the message and claim its attachment. Each message has an expiration date. Wizards says an unclaimed attachment is added “silently” to the collection when the message expires, so the item can arrive without a pop-up or pack-opening animation.
3. Finish or skip the tutorial
New accounts can receive tutorial rewards and a large bundle of recent-set packs only after completing or skipping the how-to-play sequence. Finish that sequence before deciding that an inbox grant is missing.

4. Search the collection rather than waiting for an animation
Wizards notes that certain older codes provide no visual inventory confirmation beyond the success prompt. Search for the relevant cards, cosmetics and Mastery XP directly.
How do I find a card that is already on my account?
Collection filters can hide a successfully granted card.
- Open Collection, select the Decks header, then choose Collection in the lower-right area.
- Select the slider or filter icon.
- Set the filter to Collected and clear unrelated filters.
- In the deck builder, check the format shown on the deck box. A format restriction can hide a card that the account owns.
- For alternate-art basic lands, use the arrow beside the basic-land entry to cycle through printings.
- For styles from the Store or daily deals, open Advanced Filters, select Collected and Not Collected, expand printings and check the favorite-heart control. Also review Options → Gameplay for Auto-Apply Card Styles and Hide Alternate Art Styles.
If the card still does not appear, verify that you are signed into the email address that redeemed it. A card can be present on a second account while the current account looks empty.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Why does my MTG Arena account look reset?
The most common explanation is a different login, not a wipe. Wizards says no two Arena accounts can share the exact same email address, and one account cannot have the same display name with two different five-digit identifiers.
- Compare the email address with the one used when the code was redeemed.
- Compare the full display name, including the suffix after the hash, such as
Name#12345. - Log out and sign back in with the original email.
- Enable Remember Me on the usual device to reduce accidental account switching.
The code’s items remain on the account that actually accepted the redemption. If the original login cannot be recovered, use Wizards Customer Support through mtgarena-support.wizards.com rather than creating more accounts.
Did I receive an event prize rather than a redeemable code?
Arena Direct and other event prizes use an i-Payout eWallet, not the Store Redeem Code field. Wizards says the activation email normally arrives within about two weeks; Arena Direct setup is quoted as 7–14 business days.

- Search for mail from
MPL@globalewallet.comormtgarena@globalewallet.com, including spam and junk folders. - Do not pre-create the wallet; Wizards initiates it.
- Redeem the prize within six months of the event. Wizards warns that service fees may be deducted afterward.
- For a United States event, players who are not U.S. residents have 30% of the prize total withheld, including remote Arena events.
- Arena Direct product shipping still requires the eWallet flow for tax confirmation.
For an event problem, email premierplay@wizards.com with the event name, legal name and complete Arena display name including its #hash. Do not submit an event prize claim in the Store code box.
What if the missing item was a purchase, not a code?
Missing gems, gold or a real-money purchase require a purchase-support route. PC and Mac real-money checkout issues are handled by Xsolla. Missing Gold, Gems or mobile purchases use MTG Arena support’s Submit a Request → Order Issues form. Restoring an iOS purchase is a separate support process and is unrelated to code redemption.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Where do MTG Arena codes still come from in 2026?
Wizards no longer has an official 2026 list of currently working public promo strings, and independent lists conflict. Treat public codes as volatile: try a leftover string once, but rely on the inbox and verified physical products instead of buying a code list.
Player Inbox grants
Wizards shifted many free set packs and launch extras into inbox messages. Hobby coverage has catalogued grants for sets including Alchemy: Strixhaven, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Edge of Eternities, Final Fantasy, Tarkir: Dragonstorm, Aetherdrift, MTG Foundations, Duskmourn, Bloomburrow, Modern Horizons 3 and older releases. These are attachments to claim, not words to type into Redeem Code.
Starter kits
The Bloomburrow Starter Kit announcement dated 16 July 2024 lists two 60-card Standard-legal decks, Hare Raising and Otter Limits, foil mythics and two Arena code cards in select regions. Product copy describes codes for two people to unlock both decks. A retailer listing states an expiration date of 23 June 2029, but treat that as retailer-provided packaging information rather than a universal rule for every regional edition.
Wilds of Eldraine, The Lord of the Rings and earlier annual starter kits can also contain Arena unlocks. Buy sealed, unused products when possible: an opened kit may have spent cards, and some regional versions omit digital codes.

Prerelease products
Older Prerelease kits, including Murders at Karlov Manor, Lost Caverns of Ixalan and Outlaws of Thunder Junction, may contain an unused event code on the back of the token card beside the rules insert. Wizards’ support text still describes that location. Hobby reports say new Prerelease kits stopped packing Arena codes in 2025 and instead use in-store account registration, so current packaging that advertises a code may be outdated or region-specific.
Secret Lair and other limited products
Some limited Secret Lair releases have included Arena cosmetic or sleeve keys, occasionally delivered by email after shipment. Older Planeswalker decks from Guilds of Ravnica through Core Set 2021 historically included one-time unlocks, but those codes are now generally expired. Prime Gaming has not been a dependable source of new Arena loot codes for years, and local-store or creator giveaways are occasional rather than scheduled.
What is the safest order for a new player?
Finish or skip the tutorial, claim every Player Inbox attachment, redeem any unused product codes, and only then open packs. Completing the New Player Experience first gives its own pack bundle and reduces the chance that early code packs create duplicate commons before the account has received its starter decks.
How should I check a code before contacting support?
- Confirm that the account email and display-name hash are the intended ones.
- Paste the exact code with correct capitalization, hyphens and no surrounding spaces.
- Try the documented route for your platform: Store on desktop, browser on mobile.
- Record the success or failure wording and the time of the attempt.
- After success, visit Store, open Player Inbox and clear collection filters.
- For a physical code, keep the product name, region, receipt and a photograph of the card.
- For an event prize, keep the event name and watch the two eWallet sender addresses.
Use Wizards’ promotional codes overview for campaign context, but do not assume a third-party list is current. There is no published official count of live public codes or redemption-failure rate for 2026.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I redeem the same MTG Arena code on two accounts?
Usually not. Wizards says most codes are limited to one use per account, while unique product cards are commonly consumed after the first successful redemption. A shared code may work for another account only if that code’s own limit has not been reached.
How long should I wait for an Arena code reward?
There is no universal timer for every code. A website redemption should be followed by reopening Arena and visiting Store; inbox attachments require opening the message, while event prizes arrive by email on a separate schedule.
Why did my starter-kit code work for someone else but not me?
The card may already have been redeemed, or your kit may be a regional edition without digital codes. Used and opened products are especially risky because the physical card can look unused after its one account has claimed it.
What should I do if an inbox reward expired?
Wizards says unclaimed attachments are added silently to the collection when the message expires, so search the collection before reporting it missing. If the account still lacks the item, document the message, account email and display-name hash for support.
Are Arena Direct winnings redeemed in the Store?
No. Event cash and product prizes use Wizards’ i-Payout eWallet email process. Follow the activation message and contact premierplay@wizards.com with the event and account details if the message does not arrive.
