Verdict: The MOVA Z70 Ultra Roller is a strong choice if your priority is genuinely active wet cleaning rather than a robot that drags a damp pad. Its HydroForce Mopping 2.0 roller receives fresh water while dirty water is removed, and an independent COMPUTER BILD test collected 99.1 of 100 grams of mixed debris. It also navigated well, protected carpets reliably and cleaned edges effectively. The trade-offs are a large multifunction dock, premium and market-dependent pricing, and behavior that can be rough at some thresholds or inconsistent around certain obstacles. MOVA’s 36,000Pa suction and 90mm crossing figures are manufacturer specifications, not independent laboratory results, so the 99.1% pickup test is the more useful performance anchor.
What is the MOVA Z70 Ultra Roller?
The Z70 Ultra Roller Complete is a robot vacuum and mop built around two systems: a high-suction vacuum assembly and an active roller mop. Its defining feature is HydroForce Mopping 2.0. Instead of repeatedly wiping the floor with one increasingly dirty cloth, the robot feeds fresh water to a rotating roller and removes used water as it cleans. That design is intended to keep the contact surface cleaner during a run.
The vacuum side uses MOVA’s TroboWave DuoBrush, while the robot and dock add an extending side brush, an extending roller mop, automatic dust handling, roller washing and roller drying. StepMaster 2.0 is the name MOVA gives its obstacle-crossing system. The product is therefore best understood as a floor-washing robot with a substantial service station, not simply a conventional vacuum with a damp pad attached.

MOVA publishes a maximum suction rating of 36,000Pa and a 90mm obstacle-crossing claim. The company says several performance figures come from in-house laboratory testing and that real results vary with environmental conditions. Those qualifications matter when comparing the Z70 with other robots: the pressure number is a specification, not a universal measure of cleaning effectiveness.

How strong is the Z70 Ultra’s suction in independent testing?
The clearest independent result is COMPUTER BILD’s test, published October 13, 2026. In a mixed load containing cat litter, cereal and wood shavings, the Z70 collected 99.1 grams from 100 grams placed for the test. That 99.1% pickup result is a measured outcome under a defined test load; it should not be presented as a guaranteed percentage for every floor, debris type or room.
| Figure or finding | What it means | Evidence and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| 36,000Pa maximum suction | Manufacturer’s peak suction specification | MOVA current specification page; several figures are based on in-house laboratory tests and actual results vary |
| 99.1g collected from 100g | 99.1% pickup in a mixed cat-litter, cereal and wood-shavings load | Independent COMPUTER BILD test, published October 13, 2026 |
| TroboWave DuoBrush | The named dual-brush vacuum assembly | MOVA product specification |
| Edge cleaning | Useful reach along edges in the independent test | COMPUTER BILD test observation |
The practical conclusion is that the robot has evidence of excellent everyday pickup, but the independent evidence does not validate the 36,000Pa figure itself. Suction pressure, brush design, airflow, navigation and how often the robot passes over a patch all affect what reaches the dust bin. Treat the headline pressure as context and the mixed-debris result as the stronger indication of real cleaning ability.
How well does it clean hard floors and carpets?
Hard-floor debris pickup
COMPUTER BILD described the vacuuming as very thorough and recorded the 99.1g result in its mixed-debris test. Cat litter tests whether the robot can collect many small, dense particles; cereal challenges the intake with larger pieces; wood shavings add light, irregular debris. A near-complete collection across that combination suggests the Z70 is well suited to kitchens, entryways and other hard-floor areas where particle sizes vary.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The extending side brush is intended to pull debris from the perimeter toward the intake, and the independent test found edge cleaning effective. That does not mean every corner will be spotless: a round robot still has geometric limits, and furniture clearance, wall texture and debris placement can change the result. The useful takeaway is that edge performance was a tested strength rather than only a feature-list promise.
Wet cleaning on hard floors
The active roller continuously receives fresh water while dirty water is extracted. That differs from a passive pad that becomes progressively loaded with the soil it has collected. The roller approach is especially relevant for footprints, food residue and other marks where a damp wipe is more useful than dry suction alone. The COMPUTER BILD test also rated the mopping as thorough.

Because the roller system uses separate clean- and used-water paths, the dock has to manage more liquid than a pad-only robot. You should have a practical place to refill the clean tank and empty the used tank, and you should be comfortable with the extra dock hardware that makes the process possible.
Carpet behavior
The independent test found reliable carpet protection as well as strong overall vacuuming. That is important in a mixed home: the robot can vacuum carpet without treating the wet roller as if it belonged on every surface. The evidence supports confidence in carpet transitions, but it does not establish a particular pile-height limit, deep-carpet extraction rate or pet-hair score. Those details should not be inferred from the 99.1% mixed-debris result.
How is an active roller mop different from passive pads or spinning discs?
An active roller makes the cleaning surface part of a water-management loop. Fresh liquid reaches the roller, soil-laden liquid is removed, and the dock can wash and dry the roller after cleaning. Passive pads and spinning discs can still be useful for light maintenance, but they generally rely on a limited water supply and carry the collected dirt until the pad is changed or washed.
| Cleaning approach | Water and soil handling | What it means for a buyer |
|---|---|---|
| Z70 Ultra active roller | Fresh water supplied to the roller; dirty water removed during cleaning | Better suited to frequent wet cleaning where keeping the contact surface refreshed matters |
| Passive damp pad | Pad is moistened and remains the collection surface | Simpler hardware, but the pad can become dirtier as a run continues |
| Spinning-disc mop | Rotating pads scrub while carrying collected soil | Can provide agitation, but does not have the Z70’s stated continuous dirty-water-removal path |
The advantage is not that an active roller eliminates all manual work. You still have to manage tanks, filters, the dust bag and consumables. Its advantage is that the robot’s wet-cleaning method is designed to reduce the common compromise of spreading a dirty pad across the next section of floor.
Can the Z70 Ultra cross thresholds and avoid obstacles reliably?
MOVA rates StepMaster 2.0 for obstacles up to 90mm, but COMPUTER BILD found that threshold climbing could be unnecessarily rough. The same test called obstacle detection very good overall, while noting that it was not completely consistent in every situation.

What the 90mm claim does and does not tell you
A 90mm figure is a manufacturer specification, not a guarantee that every 90mm step, beveled sill or soft transition will be crossed smoothly. Shape, approach angle, surface grip and the height difference between rooms can all change the outcome. A robot that technically climbs a threshold may still bump it, hesitate or approach it with more force than you want.

- Delicate wood or stone thresholds: the independently observed rough climbing behavior deserves particular attention.
- Uneven transition strips: confirm that the robot can approach from both directions without repeated failed attempts.
- Small objects on the floor: obstacle recognition is strong but not flawless, so cables, toys and fragile items should not be treated as automatically protected.
- Open-plan rooms: fewer thresholds reduce the importance of the crossing limitation and let the robot’s navigation strengths matter more.
If your home has expensive thresholds or frequent floor-level clutter, plan to supervise the first several runs and adjust the environment rather than assuming the maximum specification covers every case.
What does the multifunction dock automate?
The dock is responsible for the tasks that distinguish this system from a basic charging base. It handles dust collection, washes the roller and dries it. The robot also relies on separate clean- and used-water storage, so the dock is a service station for both dry debris and wet cleaning.
| Dock or robot capacity | Published value | Owner implication |
|---|---|---|
| Dust bag | 4L | More dust storage before replacement than a small onboard bin, but the actual interval depends on debris and cleaning frequency |
| Clean-water tank | 5.5L | Refill when the dock indicates the supply is low; coverage per fill is not stated |
| Used-water tank | 4.5L | Empty the recovered water rather than allowing the tank to remain full between runs |
| Roller care | Automated washing and drying functions | Reduces daily scrubbing, but does not remove the need to inspect the roller and dock areas |
Automation changes the work from repeatedly removing and rinsing a mop pad to periodically servicing a larger station. The dock still needs a location with enough clearance to open its tanks and dust compartment, a nearby power connection and a floor that can tolerate routine water handling. COMPUTER BILD and the product design both point to the dock’s size as a meaningful trade-off; measure the intended location before purchase.
How much owner maintenance remains?
The Z70 reduces routine intervention, but it is not maintenance-free. Use the following as an ownership checklist; exact intervals and replacement warnings should come from the manual for your regional model.

- The lightweight wooden handles provide extra comfort and ease during long painting processes like walls, trims, cabinets, and doors.
- These versatile brushes are ready-to-use, easy to clean, and can be reused multiple times, making them economical as well as reliable tools for any painting project.
- Bates paint brushes can be used for both oil-based paints as well as latex stains and are ideal for home or commercial projects such as decks, fences or DIY painting jobs.
- Check the clean-water tank before wet-cleaning runs. Fill it with the water and approved cleaning solution, if your regional instructions permit one. Do not assume a detergent is compatible merely because it is sold for another robot.
- Empty the used-water tank. Recovered water contains suspended soil, so leaving it in the dock between runs can create odor and residue.
- Inspect the roller after automated washing. Remove hair, threads or larger debris that the wash cycle did not release, and check that the roller is seated correctly.
- Keep the drying path clear. Drying is useful only when air can circulate around the roller and the dock’s vents are not blocked by dust or objects.
- Monitor the 4L dust bag. Replace it when the dock or the bag condition indicates it is full. A bag’s nominal capacity does not translate to a fixed number of days because homes produce different amounts of debris.
- Clean filters and brushes. Hair and fine dust can reduce airflow even when the robot’s headline suction specification is unchanged. Follow the regional manual for washable parts and replacement timing.
- Wipe tank seals and dock contact areas. This helps prevent buildup where clean water enters the system and used water returns to the tank.
Replacement rollers, detergent and filters are the consumable categories to verify before ordering. The available material does not establish universal prices, replacement intervals or compatibility across every regional bundle, so those details should be confirmed for the exact model sold in your market.
What battery and storage specifications are published?
MOVA lists a 6,400mAh battery. It does not provide a runtime figure in the available specification material, so battery capacity alone cannot tell you how many square metres the robot will clean per charge. Suction level, water use, carpet coverage, navigation and the number of return-to-dock cycles all affect practical coverage.
The published storage figures are more concrete: a 4L dust bag, a 5.5L clean-water tank and a 4.5L used-water tank. Those capacities make the Z70 suitable for extended unattended cleaning, but they should not be converted into a promised number of days or rooms without a stated test condition.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How much does the MOVA Z70 Ultra Roller cost?
Price and availability vary by country and bundle. When crawled, MOVA’s US page showed a price of $1,299 and was marked sold out. A Singapore listing showed $1,399 with a different bundle. Neither figure is a universal current price, and the two listings demonstrate why the region, included accessories and stock status must be checked at the time you buy.

Who should buy the Z70 Ultra Roller?
It makes sense for these homes
- Mostly hard-floor homes that need real wet cleaning: the continuously supplied roller and dirty-water removal are the product’s central advantage.
- Mixed hard floors and carpets: the independent test found thorough pickup, reliable carpet protection and effective edge cleaning.
- Owners who want less daily mop handling: the dock automates dust collection, roller washing and drying.
- Homes with varied dry debris: the 99.1g mixed-load result covered cat litter, cereal and wood shavings rather than a single particle type.
Consider another design if these constraints dominate
- You have fragile or unusually tall thresholds: rough climbing can be more concerning than the nominal 90mm specification is reassuring.
- You lack room for a large service dock: the water tanks and dust system require substantially more space than a simple charging base.
- You want a low-cost purchase with predictable local stock: the cited prices are premium and availability is market-dependent.
- You expect flawless object avoidance: detection was very good in testing, but not completely consistent.
What are the Z70 Ultra Roller’s main strengths and weaknesses?
| Strengths | Trade-offs |
|---|---|
| Active roller receives fresh water while dirty water is removed | More complex, larger dock with two water tanks |
| 99.1g of 100g collected in COMPUTER BILD’s mixed-debris test | The result is one test load, not a guarantee for every surface or debris type |
| Thorough vacuuming and mopping reported independently | 36,000Pa remains a manufacturer maximum specification |
| Reliable carpet protection and useful edge cleaning | Threshold climbing may be rough |
| Dust handling, roller washing and drying are automated | Owners still service tanks, bags, filters, roller and dock surfaces |
| 6,400mAh battery and high-capacity water and dust storage | No runtime or coverage figure is stated in the available material |
What should you check before ordering?
Confirm the exact regional model name and bundle, because the cited US and Singapore listings differ. Check that the seller has the replacement roller, filters, detergent guidance and dust bags intended for that version. Measure the dock location, including the room needed to remove the 5.5L clean-water and 4.5L used-water tanks.
Next, inspect your floor transitions. Photograph or measure thresholds that could be damaged by a forceful approach, and decide whether you can block a room or add a transition aid if the robot struggles. Finally, treat the first cleaning sessions as a supervised mapping period: remove fragile objects, observe how the robot handles cables and furniture legs, and verify that wet cleaning is restricted to surfaces where water is appropriate.
Is the MOVA Z70 Ultra Roller worth it?
For buyers who value active wet cleaning, the Z70 Ultra Roller is compelling. The roller’s fresh-water supply and dirty-water removal address a real limitation of passive pads, while the independent 99.1% mixed-debris pickup result supports its vacuuming credentials. The dock also removes much of the repetitive work associated with emptying dust and washing a mop.

It is not the obvious choice for every floor plan. The station is large, prices and bundles vary by market, and the independent test identified rough threshold behavior and occasional misses in obstacle recognition. Buy it when those trade-offs fit your home; do not buy it solely because 36,000Pa is a larger headline number than a competitor’s.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the 4L dust-bag capacity guarantee a specific replacement schedule?
No. Four litres is the published capacity, but replacement timing depends on how much dust, hair and litter your home produces and how often the robot runs. Use the dock’s full indication and the bag’s condition rather than a fixed calendar promise.
Are the US and Singapore versions the same package?
Not necessarily. The cited Singapore listing had a different bundle from the US listing, so included accessories and consumables may vary by market. Confirm the contents, warranty and compatible replacement parts for the exact regional listing.
Can the robot use any floor-cleaning detergent?
Do not assume that it can. The available specifications identify the roller and water tanks but do not establish universal detergent compatibility; follow the instructions supplied with your regional model and use only an approved solution.
What is the most important room preparation for the first run?
Protect delicate thresholds and remove loose cables, toys and fragile objects before supervising the initial cycles. This lets you see how the robot approaches your specific transitions and furniture instead of relying only on its published obstacle-crossing claim.
