Is the Morrison BC 230B S3 any good?

How to measure a tankful
- Use a clean fuel container approved for petrol.
- Measure petrol and synthetic two-stroke oil at 50 parts petrol to one part oil.
- For a 500 ml total batch, the arithmetic is approximately 490 ml petrol plus 10 ml oil. Mix in the container rather than trying to measure oil inside the trimmer’s tank.
- Close the container and agitate it gently so the oil is dispersed before filling.
- Wipe any spilled fuel, refit the cap securely and move at least 9 m away from the refuelling location before starting the engine, as the manual requires.
The 490 ml and 10 ml figures are a volume calculation for a full 500 ml mixture, not a separately published tank-filling recipe. Leave room if your container or measuring method makes an exact fill impractical, and follow local fuel-handling rules.
What size line fits the Morrison BC 230B S3?

- Stop the engine, let the head stop completely and remove the spark-plug wire before making adjustments or repairs.
- Open the bump-feed head using the disassembly method shown in the manual.
- Cut two lengths of 2.0 mm nylon line, 2.5 m each.
- Wind or seat the lines in the head’s channels in the direction indicated by the head markings; keep the two ends even and avoid crossing the lines.
- Reassemble the head, confirm that the cap locks in place and pull each line to verify free movement before starting.
The manual’s dimensions are the safe baseline. If a replacement head is fitted, its instructions may specify a different capacity; do not assume the original two-line measurement applies to an aftermarket head.
How do I operate it safely?

During cutting
Keep both hands on the designated controls, maintain stable footing and work with the line head at a controlled height. The bump-feed mechanism advances line when the head is tapped according to the manual’s procedure; do not strike it against hard surfaces. Stop immediately if you feel abnormal vibration, hear a loose-part rattle or see a damaged line head.
