That was Microsoft’s competitive pitch against Apple’s Mac, not proof that the new PCs outperformed Macs or won customers. The exact Euronext article page could not be verified, so this identification is an informed inference rather than a confirmed summary of that page.
What Microsoft announced
Contemporaneous reporting in May 2024 described Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC line as a push to put more AI capabilities into Windows computers and give consumers a reason to consider new PCs. Qualcomm Arm-based chips were part of the proposition, alongside the new AI features. Contemporaneous coverage of the launch and later coverage support that identification, though neither establishes that this was the exact Euronext story behind the supplied headline.
A Copilot+ PC is a laptop or other Windows computer in this product category—not a label for every Windows PC. The launch coverage links the category to particular hardware and AI capabilities; it does not establish that older PCs or all Windows configurations offer the same features. Check the specific model, region, and feature requirements before buying.
How the PC-versus-Mac challenge should be understood
Microsoft’s challenge to Apple was a market position: offer Windows computers with AI features and new Arm-based processors as an alternative to the Mac. Contemporaneous reporting described the push as an effort to reinvigorate PC sales. That ambition is not evidence that sales increased, market share shifted, or the products were categorically better than Macs.

A useful comparison would examine the AI features available on each platform, processor architecture and performance, and the wider Windows-versus-Mac hardware and software experience. The sources available here do not supply comparable benchmark results, prices, battery tests, or a current feature-by-feature comparison. They therefore cannot support an overall winner.
What the headline does not establish
- Performance: The reporting identifies Qualcomm Arm-based chips, but does not provide comparable test results against Apple’s Mac processors.
- Sales or market share: Microsoft’s aim to revive PC sales is reported; the sources do not establish whether that happened.
- Current models, prices, and availability: The launch identification does not confirm present-day configurations or regional availability. Verify those details with the manufacturer or seller.
- Investment implications: A technology launch headline, without evidence of business results, is not a basis for a stock recommendation.
