Lost and Found Co. is a relaxed hidden-object adventure, not a timed search: there is no clock, so slow down, inspect the scene in layers, and click props that might conceal an item. The key to progress is understanding two list labels: Obscured means an item is inside or behind something you can open or move, while Quest means finding one target starts another objective. Finish the main chain in each room before cleaning up optional objectives and collectibles.

What should I know before starting?

You play Ducky, a duck turned into a human intern by Mei, a fading dragon goddess. Together they run a lost-property company in Plumville, returning belongings and rebuilding belief in Mei. The story has a light, humorous tone, and the game rewards patient observation rather than speed. As GosuGamers reviewer Anna Bernardo put it, “There’s no ticking clock or forced urgency, so you can take your time scanning each scene at your own pace.”

Lost and Found Co. is made by Thailand-based Bit Egg Inc. and co-published with Gamirror Games. Its loop is simple: talk to a client, receive a list, search an interactive scene, return the requested items, and then decide whether to do optional objectives or move on. Objects may be in plain sight, hidden behind a clickable prop, or part of a short environmental puzzle.

The game launched on Steam for Windows and macOS on 5 March 2026. The Steam listing gives a US$17.99 list price and, as of October 2026, a 20% sale price of US$14.39 through 9 November 2026. A free Steam demo is also listed. Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions were announced for early 2027; no exact release day has been announced.

For a first story clear, the official FAQ figures reported by Casual Game Guides in April 2026 are about 10 hours. A longer completionist run can take 20 or more hours: Bit Egg’s 28 October 2026 Nintendo announcement describes more than 30 hand-drawn levels and 20+ hours of exploration, reflecting the game’s additions after launch. These are different scopes, not contradictory estimates for an identical set of stages.

How do I search a crowded scene without missing the last item?

Search in a repeatable pattern instead of clicking randomly. Casual Game Guides recommends clearing one zone or room at a time; when a target is missing, change layers or inspect interactive props before restarting the stage.

  1. Read the task wording carefully. Separate the main story target from any follow-up marked as a Quest, and note whether the item is described as Obscured.
  2. Scan the background first. Check the skyline, hanging signs, tree branches, roof edges, and other high or distant spots.
  3. Work across shelves and counters. Move from one side of the room to the other, checking shelf lips, trays, windowsills, display cases, and objects that overlap.
  4. Finish with floor clutter and containers. Inspect boxes, drawers, doors, refrigerators, helmets, bushes, coolers, and other props that look clickable. An item may be behind or inside one of them.
  5. Zoom and pan for small targets. Tiny objects can blend into the artwork. Check corners and edges, and click near the center of a small target: a miss can be an awkward hitbox rather than a wrong answer.
  6. Follow the scene’s shape, not only the item name. Wording and translation can be imperfect; a folded bill, for example, may count as a wallet. Compare the list description with silhouettes and details in the art.
  7. Clear one zone before jumping elsewhere. Finish a floor or interior before returning to the larger scene. If a target is still absent, ask what clickable prop could reveal it.

Some lists provide a short text hint, but its usefulness varies. Optional side missions may have no hints at all, according to Checkpoint Gaming, so apply the same zone-by-zone scan rather than expecting a prompt for every objective.

What do Obscured and Quest mean?

Obscured means the target is hidden inside or behind another clickable object. Quest means finding the listed object opens another objective, usually nearby; stay in the current scene and complete the resulting chain.

Obscured: open, move, or inspect the blocking prop

Common blockers include a fridge or freezer, helmet, drawer, door, box, bush, cooler, suitcase, and hen coop. In Chapter 2, the Frog is beneath a Viking helmet on a top shelf, so click the helmet first. Taiyaki is inside the freezer. In Chapter 5, the candy cane is behind Granny’s door in a secret room. The clue may also appear as a yellow hand icon on the item, as described by the Portuguese walkthrough Overcentral.

If a target seems impossible to locate on an exposed surface, scan for props that could logically conceal it. The interactive object may not appear on the list itself: the listed item is what you are looking for, not necessarily what you need to click first.

Quest: complete the next target before leaving

A Quest target triggers another objective or enables a nearby item. Some walkthroughs mark this with a small ellipsis text box. In Chapter 3, “Going Viral,” for example, several targets form pairs: finding the Ducky Hat leads to Ducky at the lake, while retrieving the Heirloom Umbrella from a tree trash can leads to the vampire. The stage has 20 main objectives arranged as 10 pairs, according to Overcentral. Treat a newly revealed target as part of the same room’s work, not as a reason to wander away.

How do I use hints and Juju wisely?

Regular text hints are free, though they can be vague. Juju creatures are optional, grey or colourless collectibles that can be spent for a more pointed hint; save them for a stubborn target after you have completed a careful scan.

Look for a Juju that appears greyer or wobblier than the nearby props. Many are revealed only after clicking something else, such as a bush, helmet, cooler, hen coop, painting, or well. Some levels have no Juju. In The Cursed Memento, Juju can spawn from completed objectives, so make another pass through the room after finishing chains and click any newly appeared ones.

Checkpoint Gaming found early Juju scarcity frustrating, while GameGrin noted that hints can be used without repercussions for players who prefer a no-pressure search. In practice, that makes a Juju most valuable when the obvious targets are gone and one small object remains—not at the start of a visually busy room.

Should I finish every optional objective before advancing?

For most beginners, no. Finish the main story chain first, then return for Request and stage-specific cleanup. This keeps the campaign moving while letting each new level teach you more hiding patterns before you spend a long time hunting every extra.

Story Cases move the campaign

Story Cases advance the plot. The launch-era checklist reported by Casual Game Guides contains 11 story stages: Unlucky Ducky, The Suspicious Fox, Going Viral, An Important Meeting, The First Request, Toy Time Panic, What an Unlucky Day, Muddy Situation!, Smoothie Showdown, Unexpected Outcome, The Goddess’s Return, and A Little Incident. The guide’s count and names describe the launch-era story checklist; subsequent updates added stages.

Requests are not disposable side content

Requests are client jobs in smaller or themed locations. Completing them grows the company’s standing and unlocks later story cases, so skipping every Request can stall campaign progress. They also offer extra interactions, jokes, and Juju, but their optional objectives are not required for the main story clear.

A story-first route is the safer choice if a crowded room is already wearing you down. Going for 100% on the first visit takes longer and can be especially demanding in Hop Street, Jolly Jug Isle, and Apartment Apocalypse. Casual Game Guides and its achievement checklist both recommend finishing the story first and cleaning up Requests afterward.

What does 100% completion add?

Stage cleanup can include extra objects, small environmental puzzles, all Juju, collections such as socks or toy mice, and character photos. Optional objectives add more jokes and collectibles, and full completion of a stage is tied to its Steam achievement where one exists. The current list has 27 Steam achievements, but not every later-added stage has a separate achievement; for example, Clubhouse of the Dead, The End of Summer Memories, The Stumbling Steps, Fangtastic Feast, Master of Findjutsu, Finding Familiars, and Duckinator 3029 are not listed with individual achievements in Casual Game Guides’ current checklist.

What should I do in the first five chapters?

The opening chapters teach the core search habits in order: spot small visible objects, open containers, follow Quest chains, then look for secret rooms and simple interactions.

Chapter 1: Unlucky Ducky

At Plum Dragon Shrine, find Mei’s Phone in the dirt near the shrine steps, Peach in the cherry blossom tree, the Small Dragon Statue in the right-side garden, the Lotus Flower low in the left pond, and Ducky among the lily pads at the pond’s surface. The phone and other targets can be small, so this is a useful place to practise zooming rather than rapid clicking. Finding Ducky triggers Mei’s transformation of him into a human intern and begins Chapter 2.

Chapter 2: The Suspicious Fox

At the Kit Shop and foxes’ van, find the Fox Mask on the upper-right shelf, Tanuki beneath hanging shirts by the red fridge, Taiyaki inside the freezer, Frog beneath the Viking helmet on the top shelf, Mei’s Phone on an outside bench, and the Potion in a treasure chest on the top floor. The central lesson is to click a plausible container when an item is not visible on a surface: open the freezer or helmet rather than repeatedly clicking the empty-looking area around it.

Chapter 3: Going Viral

Back at Plum Dragon Shrine, the main objectives form linked pairs. A few examples: find the Ducky Hat on the left riverbank near a deer, then click Ducky by the lake; retrieve the Heirloom Umbrella from a tree trash can, then find the vampire; take the briefcase from the police car, then locate the gangster. Other chains involve a crown and streetlight, a princess in rags and a scythe in the lake, a cane in a golf bag and an old lady, a statue wig and a bald man, and a halo that leads to an angel with a donut. Do not leave the shrine after the first target in a pair; inspect the scene for what it has just enabled.

Chapter 4: An Important Meeting

At OK Tower, search for the fancy mask, shrine miniature, handsome portrait, and magazine. After completing this clue hunt, return to the shrine and talk to Kit to unlock the next main quest. The handoff to a character is part of progression, not another hidden-object target.

Chapter 5: The First Request

Candy Corner introduces a client job and secret-room thinking. Hit the vending machine to free the grape soda, open Granny’s door to find the candy cane in the hidden room, drop an apple to wake the sleeping child at the upper right, and look for the big black cat at the far left. The door may not be on the item list, but it is the clickable route to a listed target.

How do I get unstuck when a stage will not turn green?

If a stage will not register as complete, the likeliest issue is an unfinished Obscured target or Quest chain. Reread the exact task, return to every clickable container, and make one systematic pass through the room before resetting.

  • One item left: check behind or inside props, then zoom in on edges, plants, shelf lips, trays, and other clutter. A sock in a plant and tiny items such as a water bottle or balloon can be easy to overlook.
  • A target will not appear: look for an interaction that triggers it. A submarine or other object may depend on clicking the right nearby prop rather than clicking the empty location harder.
  • The to-do list shows a character task: complete the pending chain and talk to the named character. After Story 11, players asking about “talk to Mallet” should look around the shrine and speak to him; Patch 1.0.5 fixed the earlier Mallet softlock.
  • You think a secret room is missing: finish the first main quest chain in that stage before trying to open later secret rooms. This matters in Master of Findjutsu.
  • You want to replay the stage: enter it, open the stage menu, and choose Reset Stage. Casual Game Guides reports that item locations are hand-placed, not random.

If progress seems not to have registered, return to the lobby and speak with key characters before quitting. Earlier issues involving characters disappearing or progress not saving after an immediate exit were addressed in patches, but allowing the game to settle and checking the hub is a sensible recovery habit. To restart the entire game, the reported path is Lobby → Settings → Clear All Data; use that only if you intend to erase all progress, not just replay one level.

Several historic blockers were patched: version 1.0.3 on 19 March 2026 fixed disappearing key characters, an immediate-exit save problem, the energy-drink side quest in What an Unlucky Day, graffiti cleanup in Apartment Apocalypse, and a camera freeze in The Cursed Memento. Version 1.0.5 on 31 March fixed the Mallet softlock, Ducky’s Room tutorial support, and the time-change issue in Allergy Season; version 1.0.6 on 1 April fixed incorrect interface fonts. A comment describing an old blocker does not by itself mean the current patched game still has it.

Why should I return to the office between cases?

The office and Ducky’s Room are part of the progression loop, not a separate decorating app. Cases and Requests can bring neighbour gifts by mail, while Kit Shop sells virtual decor; in Ducky’s Room, furniture and decorations can be resized, rotated, layered, and adjusted for colour and lighting. Some decor is a memento from a job, making the hub a visible record of the company’s work. After a case, check the mail and hub before assuming there is nothing else to do.

New content has also arrived after launch. Steam’s update notes accessed 29 October 2026 list the Halloween stages Love After Life, set in a graveyard, and Fangtastic Feast, set around a haunted-mansion feast, alongside Korean localization, Dialogue History, and Halloween Kit Shop decor. These additions help explain why the October Nintendo announcement describes more than 30 levels, while the April FAQ counted 11 story and 16 Request levels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are item locations random in Lost and Found Co.?

No. The official FAQ, as reported by Casual Game Guides, says objects are hand-placed rather than generated randomly. Repeating a full scan of the same zone is therefore more useful than hoping for a different layout.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Was AI used to make Lost and Found Co.’s art?

The official FAQ says no: the art and animation are hand-drawn. Bit Egg press material describes more than 10,000 pokeable objects, while CEO Richmond Lee separately described more than 15,000 hand-drawn objects and characters; those are different attributed counts.

Can I play Lost and Found Co. on Nintendo Switch?

Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions were announced for early 2027, with local and online co-op for up to four players, Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, motion controls, and touchscreen support. The announcement did not give an exact release date.

Does Lost and Found Co. have co-op on Steam?

The available data identifies the announced co-op features with the upcoming Nintendo versions; it does not establish co-op availability for the current Steam release. Check the store listing for the platform and edition you plan to buy before assuming those features carry over.
