Yes—Lost and Found Co. is generally suitable for children who enjoy seek-and-find puzzles, with two qualifications: reading ability affects how much of the story they can follow, and several later scenes use cute-spooky imagery. The 2026 Bit Egg game has no published ESRB, PEGI, IARC, or Common Sense Media age rating located as of 29 October 2026, so this is a content-based guide rather than an official age classification. Its relaxed hidden-object play, optional hints, skippable dialogue, and lack of timers make it approachable. Parents should preview the opening choking gag, cursed Juju spirits, haunted antique shop, graveyard, and haunted-mansion stages if a child is sensitive to peril or spooky themes.
What is Lost and Found Co.?
Lost and Found Co. is a single-player hidden-object adventure from Thai studio Bit Egg Inc., published by Bit Egg Inc. and Gamirror Games. It launched on Windows and macOS around 5–6 March 2026 (the date differs by time zone). The Steam app is 2101390.
You play Ducky, a duck transformed into a human boy, who helps the forgotten war goddess Mei run a lost-property business in Plumville. A potion from fox shopkeeper Kit turns Mei into a small dragon. Together they search illustrated locations, recover objects, complete requests, earn “likes,” and oppose OK Corp’s plan to demolish Mei’s shrine. The game combines a character-led story with isometric, hand-drawn scenes full of interactive objects.

This is not the 2013 animated film Lost and Found, a 54-minute, unrated penguin picture-book adaptation that Common Sense Media lists as suitable from age 3 (with some parents preferring 5+). It is also unrelated to the free-to-play warehouse-sorting game LOST & FOUND on Steam (app 4190960). Search for the full title, Lost and Found Co., or Steam app 2101390.

Is Lost and Found Co. suitable for children?
For most children who can enjoy an I-spy book, the answer is yes. The developer describes it as an escape “for players of all ages,” and Kakuchopurei reviewer Jonathan Toyad called it suitable for families, children, and non-gamers. Director Natachanan Lumpikanon specifically wanted an accessible game for people who do not regularly play games; his mother’s interest in hidden-object games helped inspire that approach.
There is no official board rating to translate into a precise minimum age. No ESRB, PEGI, IARC, or Common Sense Media rating for the Bit Egg game was found as of 29 October 2026. The practical guidance below is therefore an inference from the game’s mechanics, language demands, and depicted content—not a ratings-board decision.
Who can play independently?
- Independent readers and older children, roughly 8 and up: likely candidates for solo play if they enjoy searching scenes and can read the English (or another supported language) dialogue. Cutscenes can be skipped.
- Younger children: can participate in the click-and-find loop with an adult. A parent may need to read dialogue, explain clues, or help with optional objectives.
- Very sensitive children: preview the opening gag and Halloween-themed areas before allowing unsupervised play.
Those age bands are practical household guidance, not an official age label. A child’s reading level and tolerance for cartoon peril matter more than a single number.

What content warnings should parents know?
The overall presentation is colourful, anime-influenced, humorous, and cozy rather than realistic or violent. Reviews describe the stakes as light and whimsical. The following elements are the ones most likely to matter to families.
Cartoon peril in the opening
Mei’s origin story includes a duck mistaking a magical object for food and choking on it “to near death” before the goddess intervenes. It is a cartoon joke with no realistic injury shown, but the explicit near-death wording may upset a very young child. Ducky then becomes Mei’s unwilling intern, played for comedy.

Cursed spirits and haunted locations
Optional and story scenes include Juju, cursed spirits disguised as grey, glitchy, or shaking objects. Clicking one releases an ink-like effect and lets you earn stronger hints. Reviewers call these encounters “spoopy” rather than frightening. A request stage takes place in a haunted antique shop with possessed artefacts. Post-launch content adds Love After Life, two graveyard stages, and Fangtastic Feast, a haunted mansion with monsters and Halloween imagery. The developer labels these stages cute, but children who dislike ghosts, graves, or monsters may still want an adult nearby.
What reviewers did not report
Coverage did not identify graphic violence, gore, sexual content, strong language, gambling for money, or horror jumpscares as a central feature. The antagonist is a masked corporate executive, and the conflict concerns a shrine and a corporate takeover rather than realistic crime or combat.

Its challenge is visual observation and patience, not reflexes. There is no countdown, stamina system, combat, or forced urgency. GosuGamers notes that players can scan each scene at their own pace, even stop and return later.
How the main searches work
- Read the item list: objectives are presented with pictures and short clues.
- Search the scene: click objects or characters that match the clue.
- Use the hint icon: the first hint is vague; collected Juju can unlock a more direct hint.
- Finish the required finds: story progress depends on completing major objectives and earning enough Likes or followers.
Hints have no reported penalty, so a child can ask for help without losing a score. The main route is manageable for a child who likes Where’s Waldo-style searches. The final required object in a crowded scene can still be frustrating; using a hint is the intended solution, not a failure.
Optional tasks are the harder layer
Requests and challenges may remove hints or add denser goals, such as finding every bug or toy mouse, photographing pun-named characters, locating unusual animals, helping a tanuki perform a show, or finding cryptids. Challenge stages offer four difficulty levels, and players are not forced to select the hardest ones. There are usually enough requests available to skip an especially difficult task.

Scenes grow from small rooms to larger, multi-level areas. Reviews report a gradual increase rather than sudden difficulty spikes. Children can follow the main story with hints while an adult handles 100-percent completion goals.

HowLongToBeat’s headline estimates are about 8.5 hours for the main story, 13 hours for the main story plus sides, and 18 hours for completionist play. Its player-submitted data is wider: completionist runs average 18 hours 24 minutes with a 17 hour 51 minute median, while all play styles average 17 hours 46 minutes with a 17 hour 31 minute median. The main-story category has only one six-hour report, so it is not a robust average.
Reported fastest and slowest completion times range from six to 32 hours on PC. March reviews called the story fairly short but found enough requests, challenge levels, and room-decoration activities to occupy roughly a dozen hours or more. June and October 2026 updates added stages, so a current completionist run can exceed early review impressions.
The main story is described as eleven chapters in one account and ten levels in a pre-release review; these counts reflect different ways of grouping content. The game has more than fifteen stages, and Bit Egg’s March press material advertised 26-plus hand-crafted scenes. Treat those scene counts as minimums because later updates added content.

Coming to Nintendo Switch
Bit Egg and Gematsu announced Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions for early 2027. The announcement describes local and online co-op for up to four players, using GameShare, GameChat, same-device play, Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, motion controls, and touchscreen input. That version is likely to suit family couch play best, but its date and feature set can still change; it is not available yet.
How much does it cost?
Bit Egg announced a $17.99 USD launch price with a limited-time discount. Steam’s 29 October 2026 listing showed $17.99 reduced 20 percent to $14.39, with that offer ending 9 November. Prices are volatile, so check the Steam page at purchase. A £14.99 price was reported by Indie Hive. Steam is the confirmed digital storefront; no physical PC disc or artbook was established.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How does it compare with Where’s Waldo or Hidden Folks?
The basic appeal is similar: scan a busy illustration for small targets. Lost and Found Co. adds a substantial dialogue-driven story, character relationships, requests, room decoration, and progression through Likes. Classic Where’s Waldo books have no game dialogue or unlock system, while Hidden Folks is generally more focused on searching scenes than following a long narrative.
Choose Lost and Found Co. when a child wants story, music, and guided objectives alongside observation puzzles. Choose a book or a more minimalist search game when the child prefers immediate, language-light play or does not want spooky story moments.

What should a parent check before buying?
- Let the child try the five-level Steam demo first.
- Confirm that the available dialogue language is comfortable for the child, or plan to skip and explain scenes.
- Preview the choking gag, Juju spirits, haunted antique shop, graveyard, and mansion stages for sensitive players.
- Explain that optional challenges can be skipped and hints are available.
- For family co-op, wait for the announced Switch or Switch 2 release rather than assuming the current Steam version supports multiplayer.
How was the game received?
Reception has been strongly positive, although scores are not age ratings. Wikipedia records a 90/100 Metacritic average from six critic reviews and a 90/100 OpenCritic average, with 95 percent of critics recommending it. Steam showed 97 percent positive among 1,483 English-language reviews and 93 percent among 182 recent reviews on 29 October 2026. Bit Egg said in October that the game had more than 3,000 reviews, a 97 percent positive rating, a Metacritic score of 90, and more than 100,000 copies sold. These figures describe reception, not suitability for a particular child.
