LionDesk is no longer available to buy or use. Lone Wolf Technologies announced its wind-down in May 2025 and kept the service online through September 2025 so customers could migrate. In 2026, a solo agent choosing a replacement should first evaluate Lone Wolf’s Relationships CRM, then compare independent tools such as Wise Agent or the sphere-focused Dex against the workflows and data-export rights the business actually needs.
The safest move is to treat the change as a data-ownership project, not simply a software switch. Preserve every export you still have, map contacts and history before importing, test a small sample, and confirm the new vendor’s export, cancellation, automation and retention policies in writing.
Is LionDesk still available in 2026?
No. Lone Wolf announced in May 2025 that it was discontinuing LionDesk and maintained access only through September 2025 as a transition period. The company said the product did not fit its longer-term, scalable product direction. That means a new subscription, a normal login, or a supported LionDesk implementation should not be assumed to exist in 2026.

LionDesk was acquired by Lone Wolf in 2021. During the shutdown announcement, Lone Wolf directed customers toward its Relationships CRM and offered migration support. Jimmy Kelly, Lone Wolf’s chief executive, told Inman in 2025 that the decision was not taken lightly and that LionDesk “wasn’t going to fit the need of that longer-term vision.”

Because access ended after the transition window, articles or videos showing an old LionDesk dashboard are historical instructions. They may still help you identify field names in an old export, but they are not evidence that the service can be restored or purchased.
What replaced LionDesk for a solo real-estate agent?
Lone Wolf Relationships is the official successor path. It is the logical first option for an agent already using Lone Wolf brokerage, forms, transaction or back-office products, or for anyone who wants vendor-supported migration rather than assembling a new stack.
Relationships was offered as a standalone product, with 2025 reporting describing its entry pricing as comparable to LionDesk’s former entry level. That is historical context, not a 2026 quote. Ask Lone Wolf for the current price, user and contact limits, included migration work, integrations, cancellation terms and export format before subscribing.
Lone Wolf’s scale may matter to agents who value an established ecosystem: HousingWire reported in 2025 that the company’s software was used by more than 9,000 brokerages and 1.5 million agents. A large installed base does not guarantee that every LionDesk field or automation will transfer, so obtain a field-level migration plan rather than relying on a brand-level promise.
When Relationships is the sensible choice
- Your brokerage already uses Lone Wolf products and you want fewer vendor handoffs.
- You need a supported migration route and can verify that historical notes, tags, tasks and relationships will be preserved.
- You want one vendor to handle contact management alongside brokerage or transaction workflows.
Questions to ask before signing
- Can you export contacts, notes, tags, activities and attachments on demand, in a usable format?
- Which LionDesk fields and activity types are imported automatically, and which require manual mapping?
- Are email, SMS, video, dialer, transaction and calendar integrations included in your specific plan?
- What happens to your data after cancellation, and how long is it retained before deletion?
What independent alternatives fit a solo agent?
If you do not want to remain in Lone Wolf’s ecosystem, two categories are especially relevant: a low-cost general CRM and a relationship-focused contact manager. Neither should be described as a one-for-one LionDesk clone without confirming the exact plan and region.

Dex deserves a specific warning: 2026 comparison coverage states that it does not provide bulk texts or drip campaigns. It can support personal follow-up, but it is not a direct substitute for LionDesk-style lead-automation workflows. If campaigns, mass SMS or scheduled email sequences drive your business, test those functions in another product before moving your entire database.
How should you choose a CRM you actually own?
“Own” should mean that you can retrieve your business data in a useful format without negotiating for permission every time you leave. Compare candidates on the following six axes, and make the vendor answer each one during a trial or sales call.

1. Data ownership and export
Confirm that an export includes more than names and email addresses. You may need phone numbers, notes, tags, source, lead status, tasks, appointment history, communication history, relationships and attachments. Ask whether exports are self-service, whether they include timestamps and IDs, and whether the format is CSV, JSON or another documented structure.
2. Migration quality
A clean contact count can hide a failed migration if notes, tags or relationship links disappear. Request a sample import or a written field map. Check how duplicate contacts, custom fields, inactive leads, unsubscribed people and invalid addresses are handled.
3. Automation requirements
List the exact actions you use instead of shopping from feature labels. Examples include a new-lead acknowledgement, a birthday reminder, a personal task after a showing, a bulk SMS, a video message or a multi-week email sequence. A CRM that advertises “automation” may support only reminders, while another may include campaign branching and compliance controls.

4. Workflow scope
Decide whether you need only a sphere database, or also transaction management, lead routing, a dialer, forms, document links and team permissions. A solo agent can save money with a narrow tool, but replacing it later is expensive if the first import cannot be exported cleanly.

5. Ecosystem dependence
Staying with a brokerage-connected vendor can reduce duplicate entry and support costs. The trade-off is greater dependence on that vendor’s pricing, integrations and product roadmap. An independent CRM may give you more flexibility, but you will be responsible for connecting calendars, forms, email and transaction tools.
6. Cost and lock-in
Do not compare only the advertised monthly fee. Ask about annual prepayment, implementation charges, extra contacts, SMS or email overages, additional users, cancellation notice and data-retention fees. Because the available evidence does not establish a complete current price matrix, verify every figure on the vendor’s current order page or contract.
How do you migrate contacts after LionDesk shuts down?
Use the most complete LionDesk export you still possess. Work from a copy, preserve the original unchanged, and do not cancel or overwrite the old file until the new system has been checked.
- Locate every source file. Gather CSV exports, downloaded notes, task lists, email records and attachments. If multiple exports exist, record their dates so you know which one is newest.
- Preserve originals. Store read-only copies in a secure location with restricted access. Keep a simple log naming the file, export date and system that produced it.
- Inventory the fields. Create a mapping for first and last name, email, phone, address, lead source, tags, status, notes, activities, tasks and custom fields. Mark fields that have no destination in the new CRM.
- Normalize and deduplicate. Standardize phone formats, split combined names where necessary, identify stale addresses and merge duplicates only after reviewing notes and activity history. Keep an untouched backup before any cleanup.
- Check consent and suppression data. Preserve unsubscribe, do-not-call and other communication preferences. Do not re-enroll someone in a campaign merely because an import removed a suppression flag.
- Run a small test import. Import a representative sample containing tags, notes, old leads, current clients and at least one contact with unusual characters. Check relationships, dates, activity ordering and search behavior.
- Correct the mapping. Fix field types, date formats, tag names and duplicate rules before importing the rest. A second test is cheaper than repairing thousands of records.
- Import in controlled batches. Keep a count of records in each batch and compare it with the source. Record failures instead of silently skipping them.
- Rebuild only the automations you need. Recreate campaigns after contacts and consent data are verified. Start with internal test addresses so an incorrect trigger cannot message clients.
- Schedule recurring exports. Put a calendar reminder on your workflow to export contacts and history regularly. Store each dated copy separately so one corrupted export cannot erase your only recovery point.
What if you did not export LionDesk before September 2025?
Contact Lone Wolf support and ask whether any recovery or migration path remains for your account. The transition window ended in September 2025, so recovery cannot be assumed, but the vendor is the only authoritative place to learn whether archived data is still available.

Prepare the account email, brokerage affiliation, approximate dates of use and the records you need. Ask specifically about contacts, notes, tags, activities, attachments and opt-out information; a restored contact list without communication history may not be enough to recreate compliant follow-up.
While waiting, collect copies from other systems you controlled: email and calendar exports, transaction records, phone contacts, marketing lists and spreadsheets. Label each source and its date. Do not merge them blindly; overlapping files can create duplicate people and conflicting consent status.

Make portability part of your operating routine rather than a promise made at purchase. Keep a documented export schedule, retain at least one offline or separately managed copy, and test that a fresh export can actually be opened and understood.
- Use stable field names and avoid storing critical information only in free-text notes.
- Record the meaning of custom tags and statuses in a short data dictionary.
- Review the cancellation and deletion clauses every time you renew.
- Test an export with a second person who has not used the CRM; unclear files are a warning sign.
- Maintain communication-consent records outside campaign screens so they remain available during a migration.
A CRM is a service, not your only archive. The combination of regular exports, documented fields and a tested restore process gives a solo practice leverage when a vendor changes direction.

Choose Relationships when supported Lone Wolf migration and ecosystem integration outweigh the value of switching vendors. Choose Wise Agent when you want a lower-cost, general contact and transaction workflow and its current import and automation terms meet your needs. Choose Dex only when personal sphere follow-up is the core job and the absence of bulk texts and drip campaigns is acceptable.

Whichever route you take, make the decision conditional on a successful sample import and a written understanding of exports, retention, automation and cancellation. That test protects your business more effectively than a feature list.

Can I keep using an old LionDesk login just to view records?
Do not rely on an old login working after the September 2025 transition window. If access fails, contact Lone Wolf support and use any local exports, email archives or transaction records you retained instead of attempting unsupported workarounds.
Is a spreadsheet enough for a solo agent instead of a CRM?
A spreadsheet can hold names, contact details and simple status fields, but it usually lacks permission controls, activity timelines, consent handling and dependable reminders. It is most useful as an archive or emergency fallback, not as the sole system for campaign-based follow-up.
How do I check that an imported CRM record is complete?
Select records with different histories and compare each source field, note, tag, date and communication preference side by side. Also search for a known duplicate and a contact with accented characters or multiple phone numbers; these cases reveal mapping errors that a basic row count will miss.
What should a brokerage provide during a CRM migration?
Ask for the approved export procedure, any brokerage-wide field map, security requirements and the person responsible for migration support. Clarify whether the brokerage owns the account or you do, because that can affect access, cancellation and the ability to take records when you change firms.
