My Initial Thoughts

LG 75UK6570PUB Review My Initial Thought

LG has been around for a long time and they are known for producing home electronics including televisions. In fact, they have been rated among the best three television brands in history.

To increase their collection of 4K televisions, LG released the LG 75UK6570PUB in 2018. This television had a price tag of $2,199.99 in January 2022, when I published this review article.

Although the LG 75UK6570PUB is pretty expensive, it offers excellent features that are worth more than its price. A few of these features include a stunning 4K UHD display, an α7 Intelligent processor, and a fast response time.

Above all, does the LG 75UK6570PUB actually worth its $2000+ price tag? Well, you have to read on to find out.

LG 75UK6570PUB Design, Dimension and Weight Review

LG has a valid reputation for delivering high-quality designs and the LG 75UK6570PUB is evidence of this claim. To give more details, the LG 75UK6570PUB offers a near-perfect design, just like most LG products.

Basically, this television comes with a sleek metal chassis with a matte-black finish. Furthermore, the television features somewhat thin bezels that surround its display screen.

Although the bottom bezel is a bit thicker than the other bezels, it doesn’t affect the awesome look of the LG 75UK6570PUB. Besides, there is an “LG” logo inscribed at the center of this bottom bezel.

That said, the LG 75UK6570PUB comes with a pair of metal legs that are set to the extreme edges of the television. These legs have an upside “V” shape as well as a matte-black finish.

Moreover, due to the metal build of these legs, they should support the LG 75UK6570PUB very well. However, because of the setting of the legs, you will need a fairly large table to put the television on if not wall-mounted.

Speaking of wall-mounting, because its back is very thin, the LG 75UK6570PUB won’t bulge out of the wall if wall-mounted. However, there isn’t any form of cable management on this TV’s back, which is a bad thing for a $2000+ television.

When it comes to size and weight, the LG 75UK6570PUB measures 1694.1 x 88.9 x 977.9 mm (W x D x H) and weighs 34609.1 g. In my opinion, this television isn’t particularly heavy for a 75-inch TV.

However, the LG 75UK6570PUB weighs more than one of its closest competitors, the TCL 75S425. To give more details, the TCL 75S425 weighs 33520.4 g and measures 1678 x 88.9 x 965.2 mm (W x D x H)

In conclusion, the LG 75UK6570PUB features a sleek design that makes it perfect for any room setting. Although the weight and lack of cable management may cause a bit of debate, it’s not enough reason to dislike the TV’s design.

As a result, I will be rating the LG 75UK6570PUB an eight out of ten in this design review section.

LG 75UK6570PUB Display Features Review

LG 75UK6570PU Display Features Review

In terms of display, the LG 75UK6570PUB comes with a 75-inch LED display coupled with a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution. A 4K resolution is one of the best resolutions a display could possibly have.

This is because 4K resolution allows a display to deliver realistic and colorful picture quality. Besides, a display with a 4K resolution is about 4x better than a display with a conventional HD resolution.

However, despite its 4K resolution, the LG 75UK6570PUB’s display comes with a disappointing contrast ratio. To give more details, this display features a contrast ratio of 1313:1.

If you’re wondering what contrast ratio means, I will explain the term in the next sentence. The contrast ratio of a display is the difference between a display’s shades of white and black.

Moreover, the contrast ratio is a crucial factor that determines the black level of a display. Basically, if a display comes with a high contrast ratio, it will be able to produce deep black.

However, because the LG 75UK6570PUB’s display’s contrast ratio is practically low, it won’t be able to produce deep black. In other words, blacks on the display will look grayish.

Thus, viewing movies or TV shows with lots of shadowy or dark scenes isn’t the best thing to do on the LG 75UK6570PUB. Unfortunately, the LG 75UK6570PUB’s display doesn’t support local dimming, which is a technique that would have improved its black level.

On a positive note, this display supports HDR in order to make up for its lack of local dimming. In case you are wondering, HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a picture technology that boosts the brightness and contrast of HDR content on a display.

For the record, HDR content is mostly found on streaming apps like Netflix and HULU.

When it comes to brightness, the LG 75UK6570PUB’s display has an average brightness. To give more details, this display features a maximum brightness of 325 nits.

Although this brightness isn’t particularly great, it is enough for users to enjoy when viewing the LG 75UK6570PUB in a moderately-lit room. However, in a bright room, due to its average display brightness, this television might struggle to keep up.

On the bright side, the LG 75UK6570PUB’s display is made with an IPS panel. Therefore, thanks to this panel, this display should offer wide viewing angles.

Thus, making the LG 75UK6570PUB an ideal television for a wide room setting.

Impressively, the LG 75UK6570PUB comes with a picture processor called the α7 Intelligent processor. This picture processor optimizes the sharpness, clarity, brightness, and details of a display screen.

It does this with the help of deep learning AI algorithm by analyzing content and ambient lights on the display screen.

Moving on, the LG 75UK6570PUB’s display has a fast response time of 15.3 milliseconds. In case you aren’t aware, response time is the amount of time that a display requires to transition from one color to another.

Therefore, with a fast response time of 15.3 ms, there will be minimal blur trails when viewing fast-motion content on the LG 75UK6570PUB’s display. Thus, making this LG TV an ideal television for viewing sports or action movies.

Moreover, the LG 75UK6570PUB isn’t only ideal for viewing fast-motion content like sports, it is also ideal for playing video games. This is all thanks to its display’s low input lag of 10.9 milliseconds.

For clarity, input lag is the time that it takes a display to register a signal input from a gamepad for example. Thus, the lower the input lag, the better.

In conclusion, the LG 75UK6570PUB’s display offers a performance that I believe both movie lovers and gamers would appreciate. Therefore, the LG 75UK6570PUB deserves an eight out of ten rating in this display review section.

LG 75UK6570PUB Sound Features Review

When it comes to the sound department, the LG75UK6570PU employs two 20-watts speakers. These speakers produce decent sound quality and they are loud enough to fill a large room with sound.

However, due to the absence of a subwoofer, the bass production of this television is very poor. Therefore, watching movies with heavy bass on the LG 75UK6570PUB may not be appealing.

On a bright note, the television’s speakers produce clear and crisp dialogue. Dialogue is the sound produced when two or more people are having a conversation in a movie or TV show.

In addition to its clear and crisp dialogue production, the LG 75UK6570PUB’s speakers produce a little amount of distortion. Basically, at a moderate volume level (75% or less), distortion will be inaudible.

However, at the maximum volume level, distortion may be noticeable. Nevertheless, not everyone might hear the distortion and it depends on the type of content you are watching on the TV.

To prove my point, we will now discuss the results of the LG 75UK6570PUB on a THD test. THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) determines the amount of distortion that an audio device produces.

Furthermore, the acceptable score on this test is anything less than 1% or 1% itself. Well, the LG 75UK6570PUB was able to score 0.938% on the THD test, which means it produces a minimal amount of distortion.

All things considered, I will rate the LG 75UK6570PUB an eight out of ten in this sound review section.

LG 75UK6570PUB Ports and Connectivity Features Review

LG 75UK6570PUB Ports and Connectivity Features Review

So far, the LG 75UK6570PUB has been impressive in this review. Thankfully, it continues with this impressive performance in this section by featuring a good number of ports.

However, these ports are all located on the back of the television. Therefore, if the LG 75UK6570PUB is wall-mounted, these ports won’t be accessed easily.

That said, on the back of the LG 75UK6570PUB, you will find four HDMI ports and two USB 2.0 ports. Also, this television features an Ethernet port, digital optical audio output, and composite video input.

That’s not all, the back of the TV also houses an RF port for connecting an antenna to the LG 75UK6570PUB.

That said, the LG 75UK6570PUB features Bluetooth 4.2 and an in-built 802.11 ac WIFI for wireless connectivity.

Moving on to the remote control, the LG 75UK6570PUB comes with a standard LG AKB75375604 remote control. This remote is made of plastic and features a matte-black finish.

Moreover, even though the remote doesn’t support voice input, it features a lot of buttons. Some of the buttons you will find on this remote control include a plus-shaped navigation button and a full number pad.

Also, this remote features a volume rocker as well as a channel rocker. That isn’t all, the remote also comes with two dedicated buttons for quick access to Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.

For easy brand identification, the LG 75UK6570PUB’s remote control has an “LG” logo at the bottom.

Overall, the LG 75UK6570PUB offers a very good selection of ports and functional remote control. However, the television’s remote doesn’t support voice input, which is unexpected from a $2000+ television.

As a result, I will rate the LG 75UK6570PUB an eight out of ten in this port and connectivity features review section.

LG 75UK6570PUB Smart Features Review

The LG 75UK6570PUB comes with LG’s own webOS, as one would expect from an LG smart television. This operating system features a user-friendly interface with no lags or glitches.

In addition to that, the operating system offers the majority of popular streaming services and apps. YouTube, Netflix, HULU, and Amazon Prime Video are a couple of the streaming services that this operating system offers.

Moreover, on this OS, you can download additional streaming services or apps from the LG content store if you need them. LG’s content store, however, unlike the Google Play Store and Samsung store, offers a limited range of apps.

Impressively, you could stream content from any smart device to the LG 75UK6570PUB. To do so, simply download and install the LG Smart Share application on the smart device.

Then, using Bluetooth, connect the device either a smartphone or tablet to the television. After doing so, you may stream whatever content you want to your television from the device.

Before concluding this section, it is important to note that you can download the LG Smart Share app from either the Google Play Store or App Store.

After thorough consideration, I will rate the LG 75UK6570PUB a nine out of ten in this smart features review section.
