The Jetson ONE is a single-seat, all-electric aircraft that takes off and lands vertically. Jetson lists about 20 minutes of flight time and a software-limited top speed of 102 km/h (63 mph); its current product page says it is taking orders for 2028. It is not a machine that literally anyone can fly: weight limits and local aviation rules apply, and requirements differ by country.
What is the Jetson ONE?
Jetson ONE is a personal electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing aircraft, often described casually as a flying car or quadcopter. More precisely, it is an eight-motor aircraft: Jetson describes eight electric motors with fixed propellers, an aluminum spaceframe with carbon-fiber elements, redundant battery propulsion and four-axis joystick control. It has one seat, so it is a recreational aircraft for one pilot rather than a passenger vehicle or practical cargo aircraft.
Jetson’s launch material identifies Tomasz Patan as the company’s founder and CTO, as well as a test pilot. The aircraft is designed to be flown with joystick inputs, and Jetson lists automated functions such as hands-free hover and emergency functions.
How fast and far can it fly?

The 17.74 km test distance and the approximately 20-minute specification are different kinds of figures: the former is a reported test result at a stated cruise speed, while the latter is the manufacturer’s listed flight-time maximum. Neither establishes how far a particular owner can travel in everyday conditions. The researched product specifications do not state charging time or operating cost.

Jetson’s product page also has a mass discrepancy. Its technical table lists 115 kg including batteries and 55 kg empty, while the same site’s home-page summary has shown 86 kg all-up. Those values conflict; the technical-table figure is the more specific listing, but the published information does not reconcile the difference.
What safety systems does Jetson list?
Jetson describes several layers of protection, including a race-car-inspired safety cell, redundant battery propulsion, the ability to continue flight after one motor fails, radar-sensor auto landing, and hands-free hover and emergency functions. It also lists a ballistic parachute.

In a 2025 announcement, Jetson said the airframe parachute had completed more than 20 successful test deployments and could be activated by the pilot as a last-resort system. These are manufacturer statements. The available information does not establish an independent accident rate or provide independent certification-test data, so the listed systems should not be read as proof that the aircraft is risk-free.
Do you need a pilot’s license?
There is no single worldwide answer. Jetson presents US operation under FAA Part 103 ultralight rules as requiring neither aircraft registration nor pilot certification. That description is specific to the US regulatory pathway and should not be generalized to other countries.

Italy’s requirements illustrate the difference. On August 13, 2026, Jetson announced that Aero Club d’Italia had issued identification I-E953, which it described as the first official Italian ultralight identification for an eVTOL aircraft. The same announcement says Italy requires VDS registration, pilot qualification and medical certification. Check the rules that apply where you intend to operate; an aircraft’s eligibility in one country does not establish permission to fly it elsewhere.
How much does the Jetson ONE cost, and when can you get one?
A 2026 SEC filing puts the price at approximately US$128,000 and says Jetson had more than 460 units on pre-order. The price is approximate and tied to that 2026 disclosure; it should not be treated as a guaranteed final purchase price or as a quote for taxes, delivery or other costs. Earlier media coverage cited US$98,000, but the later SEC filing is the more current price source here.

Jetson’s current product page says it is taking orders for 2028. An order window is not the same as a guaranteed delivery date for an individual buyer, and the available information does not establish a specific delivery schedule or total ownership cost.

For a real aircraft order, use Jetson’s official product page rather than assuming that a search result, toy or unrelated drone is a Jetson ONE.
