What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Short answer: X Premium is worth paying for only if the features you will actually use justify the price. Creator monetization tools require eligibility and do not guarantee income, while the paid blue checkmark is not proof of the notability associated with X’s former verification system. Businesses that need organization verification or affiliate-account management should compare X Premium Business, a separate and substantially more expensive product.
What does X Premium cost, and what do the tiers include?
X’s FAQ lists these starting prices for subscriptions purchased on the US web: Basic at $3/month or $32/year, Premium at $8/month or $84/year, and Premium+ at $40/month or $395/year. X says prices vary by location and applicable taxes, and subscriptions are unavailable in some markets. Check your local checkout price and billing channel before subscribing; the figures below are not universal quotes. X Premium FAQ
| Tier | US web starting price listed by X | Relevant features |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | $3/month or $32/year | Post editing, longer posts and video uploads, bookmark folders and other controls. Basic does not reduce ads. |
| Premium | $8/month or $84/year | Blue checkmark after review, fewer ads in the For You and Following timelines, larger reply prioritization, ID verification, Media Studio, increased Grok usage limits, and eligibility to apply for Creator Subscriptions and Original Content Rewards. |
| Premium+ | $40/month or $395/year | Includes features such as SuperGrok, Radar Search and Articles, with reduced ads across most areas of X. X says occasional sponsored content may still appear. |
Feature availability and limits can differ by platform and location, and X may change its offerings. Its overview says longer posts can reach 25,000 characters and specified video uploads can be about three hours and 8GB at 1080p on x.com and X for iOS; check the feature details for your platform before relying on those limits. About X Premium X Premium FAQ
When is X Premium worth it for a creator?
Premium can make sense if its workflow tools, audience features or reduced ads are useful often enough to justify the local subscription cost. For a creator, the key distinction is between having access to monetization applications and actually earning money from them.

Monetization is possible, not assured
X says eligible Premium and Premium+ subscribers can apply for Creator Subscriptions and Original Content Rewards. Creator Subscriptions let eligible creators charge followers for exclusive content or perks using price points available through X. Access requires review, and paying for a subscription alone does not establish that an account will qualify or earn enough to cover the fee. Earnings from subscriptions depend on how many people sign up and the selected price; platform fees, including Apple or Google fees, may also apply. Creator Subscriptions Creator revenue sharing
X’s official materials do not establish typical net creator earnings, a representative conversion lift or a general subscription return on investment. To judge your own case, estimate only the incremental net monthly receipts you reasonably attribute to paid features, then subtract the subscription and associated platform fees. Existing revenue is not automatically revenue caused by Premium.

Assess the tools against your actual workflow
Longer posts, extended video uploads, editing and Media Studio may matter to a creator who regularly publishes or manages content on X. They are less compelling if you rarely use those formats or already have a workable publishing process. Verify that the feature is available on your device and in your region before counting it as a benefit.
Does the blue checkmark help a creator or business?
X says eligible, active Premium or Premium+ subscribers receive a blue checkmark after review. The current paid checkmark should not be read as proof that X independently established an account’s notability: X distinguishes it from its former verification system, which was based on accounts being active, notable and authentic. Certain profile edits can trigger another review and temporarily remove the mark. About verified accounts

Consider it when your organization needs organization-specific verification or the ability to manage affiliate accounts and other organization tools. An individual employee or founder buying Premium does not substitute for those organization capabilities; compare the plan against the specific business requirement and its full cost.
Premium Organizations is a different product
X Premium Organizations is intended for government and multilateral organizations, not ordinary private businesses. X lists US Full Access at $1,000/month plus $50/month for each additional affiliate, and describes elevated limits and hiring capabilities. X directs businesses to Premium Business instead. X Premium Organizations
Quick Recap
How to decide whether the subscription pays for itself
- Confirm the real price. Check the local monthly and annual checkout totals, taxes, payment channel, and any affiliate-account charges for organization plans.
- Name the features you will use. List the specific tools, publishing limits or ad changes relevant to your work. Check that each is available on your platform and in your region.
- Estimate value conservatively. For creator income, count plausible incremental net receipts after transaction or platform fees, not all existing revenue. For business use, identify the operational need the plan solves.
- Account for uncertainty. Monetization applications are subject to eligibility and review, and X does not promise typical earnings or a general financial payoff.
- Match the plan to the need. Basic does not reduce ads; Premium reduces ads in the For You and Following timelines; Premium+ reduces ads across most areas but may still show sponsored content. Organization-specific needs belong in the Premium Business comparison, not an individual subscription calculation.
