Yes. Phantom Blade Zero has a New Game Plus mode. S-GAME founder, CEO and game director Soulframe Liang says NG+ is optional and is designed for players who want tougher replay sessions, alternate builds and a chance to use powerful late-game weapons against earlier bosses. It is not a second story campaign: Liang said, “We’re not holding back exclusive story content for New Game Plus.”
This is a pre-release confirmation dated October 28, 2026, one day before the announced October 29 launch. The shipped build still needs to be checked after release for exact carryover rules, enemy scaling and whether NG+ is available on day one.

What is confirmed about New Game Plus in Phantom Blade Zero?
NG+ is an optional replay mode for experienced players. Its main purpose is to let you revisit the game with late-game equipment, experiment with different weapon combinations and take on more demanding combat challenges. The developer has not described it as a separate campaign or as a requirement for seeing the ending.
Late-game weapons are the central incentive
Some of the strongest or most unusual weapons become available only after very difficult encounters or the final boss. That leaves little opportunity to use them during a normal first run. NG+ is intended to solve that by letting players bring those tools into earlier areas and bosses, creating different attack patterns, build choices and strategies.

Liang estimated that at least about ten late-game weapons could make a replay substantially different. That is a developer estimate, not an independently measured count.
How NG+ relates to 66 Days
The weapon-focused replay loop is also connected to 66 Days, a separate challenge mode with only 66 attempts. NG+ is therefore the open-ended experimentation option, while 66 Days is the explicitly limited-attempt test of mastery.
Do I need NG+ to see the full story or earn Platinum?
No. Liang said most players should be able to see the game’s content and earn the Platinum trophy in one playthrough, at any difficulty, provided they explore, fight and learn the mechanics. Exclusive story chapters are not being held for NG+.
That makes the first run the intended discovery experience. You can concentrate on learning the combat system and exploring the campaign without worrying that a second completion is mandatory for the narrative. NG+ exists for optional mastery, not for completing an unfinished first run.

How much variety is available before starting NG+?
The official PlayStation overview lists more than 30 main weapons and 25 secondary weapons called Phantom Edges. Upgrades and accessories support multiple builds, so the first playthrough already offers substantial room to specialize. NG+ adds value by moving late-game options into earlier parts of the progression rather than by promising a new storyline.
Will NG+ be available at launch, and what carries over?
The announced release date from S-GAME and PlayStation is October 29, 2026. Current pre-release information confirms that NG+ is part of the game, but it does not establish whether the mode unlocks immediately after launch, after finishing the campaign, or through a later update.
The researched announcements also do not specify which weapons, upgrades, accessories, currencies or other inventory items carry over. They likewise do not state how enemy health, damage, artificial intelligence or boss patterns scale. Treat any detailed carryover list or exact multiplier published before a post-launch build check as unconfirmed.

It is likely worthwhile if you enjoy optimizing builds, revisiting bosses with radically different weapons or pursuing tougher combat after finishing the story. The mode is less essential for players who mainly want the narrative, because the developer says the story and Platinum path are intended to be achievable in one run.

A straight-line main story is estimated at about 25 to 30 hours for an experienced player, according to Liang. Players who explore, collect equipment and pursue optional challenges should expect a longer first run before deciding whether a second one fits their schedule.
What should you do before beginning a second run?
- Finish the campaign and record your build. Note the weapons, Phantom Edges, upgrades and accessories you rely on so you can deliberately change them in NG+.
- Complete exploration-based objectives. The developer’s one-playthrough Platinum guidance assumes that you explore and engage with the combat systems rather than rush only the main path.
- Decide whether you want experimentation or a stricter test. Choose NG+ for weapon-driven replay variety; choose 66 Days if the appeal is a fixed number of attempts.
- Check the post-launch patch notes. Confirm the actual unlock condition, carryover inventory and scaling rules in the release build before committing to the second run.
Which edition and platforms are announced?
PlayStation’s US listing shows a $59.99 Standard Edition and a $69.99 Digital Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe package includes Wulin Legend, Blood-Steel Form, a digital artbook and a digital soundtrack. Official materials say the preorder Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy appearance can also be obtained through in-game progression.
On PC, the official requirements list 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, 16 GB of memory and an SSD. Minimum hardware is around an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with a GeForce GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5500 XT; recommended hardware is around an Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X with an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT. Can I use the strongest weapons against early bosses?
That is the intended attraction of NG+. Late-game weapons obtained from difficult encounters or the final boss are meant to be usable earlier on a replay, although the precise inventory-transfer rules have not been published.
Is 66 Days the same thing as New Game Plus?
