RoboForm is a practical password manager for people who want reliable password capture, one-click sign-ins, form filling, and access on more than one device. Its Free plan stores unlimited passwords on one device, while Premium removes that device restriction and Family provides up to five Premium accounts. RoboForm also lists password generation, passkey management, emergency access, breach monitoring, a TOTP authenticator, and hardware-security-key support. The main qualification is that its security architecture and audit history are published vendor claims, not a guarantee that an account or implementation can never be compromised. For a household or anyone moving between a computer and phone, Premium or Family is generally the more practical tier.
What is RoboForm and who is it for?
RoboForm is password-management software that stores credentials, generates strong passwords, fills web forms, and signs you in with a click. It is aimed at users who would rather keep one encrypted vault than remember many passwords or reuse the same password across sites.
The product also includes tools beyond ordinary login storage: a password audit, breach monitoring, passkey management, bookmarks, Safenotes, emergency access, a TOTP authenticator, export and import, offline access, and passwordless-unlock options. Those features make it useful as a general identity-information vault, although the exact experience can differ between operating systems and browser extensions.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Is RoboForm free?
Yes. RoboForm lists a Free plan at $0 with unlimited passwords on a single device. The restriction matters: the Free description does not promise synchronization across multiple devices, so it is better suited to one primary computer or phone.
Paid plans are billed annually on the personal pricing page. The displayed figures are point-in-time vendor prices; taxes, promotions, region, currency conversion, and future plan changes can alter the checkout amount.
| Plan | Displayed price | Renewal shown | Device and account terms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Not applicable | Unlimited passwords on one device |
| Premium | $2.49 per month, billed annually | $29.88 per year | Access across devices for one account |
| Family | $3.98 per month, billed annually | $47.75 per year | Up to five Premium accounts |
RoboForm says every account includes unlimited password storage, form filling, multi-platform support, offline access, password audit, password generation, AES-256 encryption, export/import, passkey management, bookmarks, and Safenotes. Premium and Family add all-device access and additional account features. Confirm the exact inclusions and price on the checkout page before paying, because plan packaging can change.
Does RoboForm sync across devices?
Premium and Family are the plans designed for all-device access. The Free plan is explicitly described as single-device, so do not assume that a Free vault will synchronize automatically between a laptop, phone, and tablet.
RoboForm’s Premium information lists support for Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Linux, and Chrome OS, with extensions for major desktop browsers. The overview does not establish that every feature has identical behavior in every client. Check your exact operating-system version and browser before depending on a particular function, especially if you use a less common desktop setup.
What multi-device access changes
- You can keep the same vault available when switching between a computer and a mobile device.
- New or changed credentials can be used from the other signed-in clients after synchronization.
- Offline access is listed, but an offline client still depends on having been set up and authorized previously.
- A single-device Free account may be enough if you never need the vault elsewhere.
For a household, Family provides separate Premium accounts rather than merely increasing the number of devices on one login. Decide whether up to five individual accounts matches how your household handles credentials before choosing it.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
How does RoboForm work for everyday logins?
The normal workflow is capture, generate, fill, and review. The names of buttons and menus can vary by client version, but the process is consistent.
Recommended Free Tools
- Create the vault and master password. Install the application or browser extension, create an account, and choose a unique master password that you do not use anywhere else. Your master password protects access to the vault, so store your recovery plan before you begin moving important credentials.
- Import or save existing credentials. Use RoboForm’s import function if you are moving from another manager or a browser, or save a login when the extension offers to capture it after a successful sign-in. Review imported entries for duplicate or outdated passwords.
- Generate replacement passwords. When creating or changing an account, open RoboForm’s password generator and create a different password for that service. The point of generation is to remove predictable patterns and prevent one breach from exposing several accounts.
- Use one-click login. Select a saved login from the extension or vault rather than typing the username and password into a page. This can reduce transcription errors and makes long, random passwords practical.
- Fill forms selectively. Store identity and contact details in the appropriate RoboForm identity or form-filling records, then review the fields before submitting. Do not automatically fill sensitive information on an unfamiliar site.
- Review the vault. Run the password audit, respond to compromised-password or reuse warnings, and remove stale entries. Breach monitoring can add another alerting layer, but it does not repair an exposed account by itself.
RoboForm also lists bookmarks and Safenotes, which can keep frequently used links and non-login notes beside the vault. Keep highly sensitive recovery codes organized, but avoid treating a password manager as the only copy of a recovery plan if losing vault access would lock you out.
What security does RoboForm claim?
RoboForm describes its architecture as zero-knowledge. According to its security page, data is encrypted with a key derived from the master password, decryption occurs on the user’s device, and RoboForm cannot access the master password. The page states: “All decryption happens on your device and not on our servers.”
The stated cryptography includes AES-256 for encryption and PBKDF2-SHA256 for deriving encryption material from the master password. These are meaningful design details, but they are not an absolute security guarantee. The protection a user receives also depends on the strength and secrecy of the master password, the security of enrolled devices, the correctness of the software implementation, and the handling of account recovery.
What the zero-knowledge description does and does not mean
- It describes where RoboForm says encryption and decryption occur.
- It does not make a stolen, unlocked device safe.
- It does not prevent phishing if you approve a malicious sign-in or reveal a password.
- It does not remove the need to update the application, browser, operating system, and security key firmware when applicable.
- It is a vendor description; the available product material does not provide source-code verification or an independent guarantee of future behavior.
Use a long, unique master password, protect the devices that can unlock the vault, and decide in advance how a trusted person could obtain emergency access without receiving routine access to every credential.
Does RoboForm support two-factor authentication and hardware security keys?
Yes. RoboForm lists passkeys, trusted devices, hardware security keys, email, SMS, and authenticator apps among its two-factor or account-protection options. Hardware security keys are an optional physical-device route; RoboForm’s published material establishes support for the category, not compatibility with a particular model.

- Travel Must-Have for People On the Go: A must-have travel accessory for flights, flying, airports, air travel, airplanes, planes, international trips, cruises, and long travel days. Key gadget for your airport haul, travel accessories and must-haves.
If you choose a key, verify its protocol, operating-system support, browser support, and enrollment instructions before buying. Register a second recovery method or spare key where the account settings allow it, because losing the only physical key can turn a security measure into a lockout.
A sensible enrollment sequence
- Enable the strongest available account-protection method in RoboForm’s security settings.
- Enroll the hardware key or passkey while you still have a working authenticated session.
- Test a fresh sign-in in a separate browser window or on another device.
- Record the recovery method and store any spare key separately from your primary key.
Email, SMS, and authenticator-app options may be easier to deploy, but they have different risks. Choose the method your devices and recovery process can support reliably rather than enabling a method you cannot maintain.
What do RoboForm’s security audits establish?
RoboForm’s help material says Secfault Security performed security audits and penetration tests in 2023 and 2025. The vendor identifies the 2025 scope as covering Windows and macOS clients, Android and iOS apps, browser extensions, the online portal, and the password generator.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteAn assessment with that scope is useful evidence that those components were examined at a stated time. The available description does not summarize the findings or provide a complete public report, so it cannot support a claim that RoboForm is invulnerable, that every issue was resolved, or that every future release has been assessed. Treat the dates and scope as context when comparing managers, and look for the current report or attestation if your organization requires one.
What are RoboForm’s main strengths and limitations?
Strengths
- Unlimited password storage is listed even on the Free plan.
- One-click logins, password generation, and form filling address the most common daily tasks.
- Premium and Family provide a clear path to multi-device use.
- The feature set includes passkeys, emergency access, breach monitoring, a TOTP authenticator, bookmarks, Safenotes, and offline access.
- RoboForm documents AES-256, PBKDF2-SHA256, and a zero-knowledge design rather than presenting security as a vague marketing label.
- Hardware security keys are listed for users who want a physical second factor.
Limitations and cautions
- Free is a one-device plan, so it may disappoint anyone expecting automatic cross-device synchronization.
- Feature parity among Windows, macOS, mobile, Linux, Chrome OS, and browser extensions is not established by the overview pages.
- Pricing is displayed as annual billing and may change with region, tax, promotion, or renewal terms.
- The audit disclosure names scope and dates but does not publish findings in the available summary.
- Vendor security claims should not be read as a promise that compromise is impossible.
- Hardware-key support does not identify a guaranteed compatible model; compatibility must be checked before purchase.
Should you choose Premium or Family?
Choose Premium when one person needs the vault on multiple devices. Choose Family when up to five people need their own Premium accounts and the annual price is worthwhile for your household. Stay with Free when one device is sufficient and you are comfortable without the paid plan’s all-device access.
| Your situation | Most fitting tier | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One computer or phone, no synchronization requirement | Free | $0 and unlimited passwords on one device |
| One person using several devices | Premium | All-device access at the listed annual price |
| Household with several individual users | Family | Up to five Premium accounts |
Before subscribing, check the renewal amount rather than judging only by the monthly equivalent. Also confirm that the operating systems and browsers you actually use are supported and that any required sharing or emergency-access workflow meets your needs.

How should you compare RoboForm with another password manager?
A fair comparison starts with the plan terms you would actually buy, not with a feature-count checklist. Use the following questions for each product:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Is the free tier single-device, or does it synchronize across devices?
- What is the annual price, and what price appears at renewal?
- Are Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Linux, and Chrome OS supported, and do the relevant browser extensions exist?
- Does the service provide credential sharing, emergency access, passkeys, breach monitoring, or a built-in authenticator?
- Which encryption and account-protection claims are documented, and where does decryption occur?
- Are hardware security keys supported, and are compatibility and recovery instructions clear?
- What audits or penetration tests are disclosed, what components were in scope, and can you read the findings?
RoboForm has clear answers for its own listed plans, platforms, security design, and audit dates. The competitor side of a comparison requires checking the other provider’s current documentation rather than assuming that similarly named features work the same way.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What can go wrong, and how do you recover?
You expected Free to sync
Confirm that the account is on the Free tier and that the second device is not simply an unconfigured client. The published plan terms describe Free as single-device; moving to Premium is the documented route for all-device access.
A generated password was not captured
Save the credential manually in the vault after completing the account change, then verify the username, website address, and password before leaving the page. A browser extension may not recognize every custom login form.
An extension or feature is missing
Check RoboForm’s current support list for your operating system and browser, update the client, and compare the behavior in the desktop application or web portal. The overview pages do not promise identical feature parity across every client.

A breach alert appears
Change the affected site’s password immediately, use a newly generated unique password, and review active sessions and second-factor settings on that site. A breach-monitoring alert is a signal to act, not evidence that every other vault entry has been exposed.
Is RoboForm worth it?
RoboForm is worth considering if your priority is dependable password capture, one-click login, form filling, and a straightforward upgrade from one-device use to multi-device access. Premium’s listed annual renewal is modest for a single user, while Family is aimed at households that can use all five accounts.
Its security story is more substantive than a simple “encrypted” label: RoboForm describes local decryption, AES-256, PBKDF2-SHA256, multiple second-factor choices, and security assessments in 2023 and 2025. Those details still need to be interpreted as vendor statements with a stated audit scope, not as proof of perfect security. A strong master password, protected devices, tested recovery methods, and careful phishing judgment remain essential.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I move my existing passwords into RoboForm?
RoboForm lists export and import, so migration is supported in principle. Export files can contain plaintext credentials depending on the source format; create the import in a private location, delete any temporary file securely, and verify that the imported entries are correct before closing the old manager.
What happens if I stop paying for RoboForm Premium?
The pricing material establishes the paid renewal terms but does not specify every downgrade behavior. Check the account’s current subscription and data-retention notice before canceling, and export a current backup while you still have access so a change in plan does not surprise you.
Can a family member use my RoboForm account?
Family is described as up to five Premium accounts, which is different from sharing one master login. Give each person an individual account and use only the sharing or emergency-access features that match the relationship and the sensitivity of the credentials involved.
Does RoboForm’s audit mean my passwords are guaranteed safe?
No. The disclosed 2025 assessment covered named clients, apps, extensions, the portal, and the password generator at that time, but the available summary does not publish findings or cover every future release. Keep using unique passwords, updates, and second-factor protection.
