Yes. Minecraft Dungeons II’s Standard Edition is included with Xbox Game Pass from its September 29, 2026 launch. The launch listing specifically identifies Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, with the game available across cloud, Xbox console, supported handhelds and PC. Xbox also labels the Standard Edition “Included with Game Pass.”
That subscription entitlement covers the base game, not the separate Deluxe Edition bundle. Deluxe adds the Soul cape, Blub pet, four hero skins and DLC 1 and 2 as released. If you only want to play the core campaign, an eligible Game Pass subscription avoids a separate game purchase; if you want those cosmetics and expansions, you must buy or upgrade to Deluxe.
Which Game Pass plans include Minecraft Dungeons II?
The official launch schedule names Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass for Minecraft Dungeons II on September 29, 2026. Xbox’s product page separately confirms that the Standard Edition is “Included with Game Pass.” The published schedule does not establish inclusion in every other Game Pass tier, so check the plans displayed for your Microsoft account and region before subscribing.
| Plan or purchase | Platform access identified by Xbox | Base game | Deluxe cosmetics | DLC 1 and 2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Game Pass Ultimate | Cloud, Xbox console, supported handhelds and PC at launch | Standard Edition included while eligible subscription is active | Not included automatically | Not included automatically |
| PC Game Pass | PC at launch; the schedule does not extend this plan’s entitlement to console or cloud | Standard Edition included while eligible subscription is active | Not included automatically | Not included automatically |
| Other Game Pass plans | Not established by the reviewed launch schedule | Check the current plan page for your region | Not included automatically | Not included automatically |
| Standard Edition purchase | Use on the supported platform for which you buy it | Owned separately | Not included | Not included |
| Deluxe Edition purchase or upgrade | Use on the supported platform for which you buy it | Everything in Standard | Soul cape, Blub pet and four hero skins | DLC 1 and 2, available as released |
The table separates two questions that are often conflated: whether the game is playable through a subscription and whether the Deluxe extras are licensed to you. Game Pass supplies the first through the Standard Edition; it does not silently convert the subscription entitlement into Deluxe ownership.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Is the Standard Edition really free with Game Pass?
It is included rather than permanently free. Xbox’s store wording means an eligible subscriber can install and play the Standard Edition without paying a second game price. The access is part of the subscription service, so the game appears as an included title instead of requiring a separate Standard Edition purchase.
“Included” also does not mean every account receives every add-on. The official product listing presents Standard and Deluxe as separate editions. A subscription is therefore the economical route for someone who wants the base adventure, while a player seeking the additional content must select the Deluxe purchase or an upgrade offered in the Xbox storefront.
What does the Deluxe Edition add?
Deluxe contains everything in Standard plus four named extras. Xbox describes the bundle as follows:
- The Soul cape
- The Blub pet
- Four hero skins
- DLC 1 and 2, available as released
The wording “available as released” matters: it describes an entitlement to each of the two listed downloadable-content packs as they become available, rather than promising that both packs launch on September 29. The official pages do not say that these items are included automatically for Game Pass subscribers. Treat Deluxe as a separate ownership decision even when your subscription already lets you play Standard.
Where can I play Minecraft Dungeons II with Game Pass?
The launch materials cover cloud, Xbox console, supported handhelds and PC. Xbox Wire identifies Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud availability, while the September 15 schedule lists “Cloud, Console, Handheld, and PC.” Handheld support should be read as the supported devices represented by Xbox’s service listing, not as a guarantee that every Windows or gaming handheld is compatible.

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
The game also supports Xbox Play Anywhere for console and PC. When you access the title through the service on supported devices, that feature is intended to let you use the console and PC versions without buying the game a second time. Your practical experience still depends on the device, operating-system, network and account requirements shown by Xbox at sign-in.
Xbox Series X|S
Ultimate subscribers can use the console entitlement identified in the launch schedule. Install the game from the Xbox console Game Pass catalog, or open its store page and choose the included install option rather than a paid edition.
PC
PC Game Pass and Ultimate are the plans named for the day-one release. In the Xbox app for Windows, sign in with the Microsoft account holding the subscription, search for “Minecraft Dungeons II,” and select the Standard Edition marked as included. The PC listing, system requirements and available install location determine whether your computer can run it.
Cloud and supported handhelds
Cloud and handheld access are part of the launch listing associated with Ultimate. Choose the cloud-play control where it is offered instead of installing locally. Device support, controller requirements, browser or app availability and network performance can vary, so use the Xbox cloud-play prompt for your specific device as the final check.
How do I play it through Game Pass?
Confirm the plan, locate the included Standard Edition, then install or stream it from the same Microsoft account. These steps avoid the most common edition and account mistakes.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Check your subscription. Open your Microsoft or Xbox account’s Game Pass page and verify that the active plan is Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, the two plans named for launch access. Confirm that the account you will use on the console, PC app or cloud session is the subscriber account.
- Open the correct catalog. On Xbox, open the Game Pass tab; on Windows, open the Xbox app; for cloud, open the supported Xbox cloud-play interface. Search for “Minecraft Dungeons II” and select the result identified as the Standard Edition.
- Verify the entitlement label. The store page should show the included-with-Game-Pass treatment rather than asking you to buy the base game. If only Deluxe is shown at a price, expand the edition selector and look for Standard before purchasing anything.
- Choose install or cloud play. Select Install on console or PC, or choose Play through cloud where available. A local installation requires enough storage and a supported operating system; streaming requires a compatible device, controller setup and a stable connection.
- Start with the subscribed account. Launch the game while signed in to the account that owns the active entitlement. On a shared console, make sure the console’s account-sharing and home-console settings allow the other profile to use the subscriber’s Game Pass access.
- Recheck after a plan change. If you switch, pause or cancel your subscription, return to the game’s store page. The page will show whether your current plan still includes Standard or whether a separate purchase is required.
Do I need to buy Minecraft Dungeons II if I have Game Pass?
No, not for the Standard Edition while your eligible subscription provides access. Buying Standard separately only makes sense if you want to own the base game independently of Game Pass or your current plan does not list the title. The subscription route is the direct way to play the launch version without a second base-game charge.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsYou do need a separate transaction for Deluxe benefits. The official descriptions do not promise that a Game Pass subscription grants the Soul cape, Blub pet, four hero skins or DLC 1 and 2. Choose Deluxe when those items are part of what you want, and read the store’s upgrade language carefully so you do not purchase the base game twice.
Does Game Pass give me the Deluxe Edition?
No automatic Deluxe entitlement is stated. Game Pass access is tied to the Standard Edition, while Deluxe is listed as a separate package containing the four cosmetic and DLC additions. A subscriber can therefore play the main game first and decide later whether the Deluxe upgrade is worth buying.
Because DLC 1 and 2 are described as “available as released,” an upgrade can be useful for players who want the future content as well as the launch cosmetics. The exact price, upgrade presentation and timing can differ by storefront and region; use the edition details shown on your Xbox account before confirming payment.
What is the September 29, 2026 launch status?
Minecraft Dungeons II launched on September 29, 2026. Xbox’s September 15 launch schedule placed it in Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on that date, with cloud, console, handheld and PC availability listed. The June 7 Minecraft announcement presents it as the next chapter in the Dungeons saga, with new locations, combat encounters and customizable weapons, armor, artifacts, talismans and other gear.

That date is the day-one inclusion date, not a promise that the title will remain in the catalog forever. Xbox can change catalog availability, plan benefits or regional listings. If the game disappears from your catalog, use the current store page for your account rather than relying on an old launch announcement.
Why is the game asking me to pay?
A payment prompt usually means the wrong edition, account or plan is being viewed. Work through these checks before buying.
- Wrong edition selected: Switch from Deluxe to Standard in the edition picker. The included label applies to Standard.
- Wrong account: Sign out and back in with the Microsoft account that holds Ultimate or PC Game Pass. Console and PC profiles must use the same account that owns the entitlement.
- Plan not eligible: The launch schedule specifically names Ultimate and PC Game Pass. If you have another tier, its inclusion is not established by the launch listing; inspect the current benefits page.
- Catalog or region difference: Store catalogs can vary by country and can change after launch. Set the storefront to your actual account region and read the current product page.
- Subscription not active: An expired payment, grace-period issue or canceled plan can remove the included install option. Resolve the billing status, then restart the Xbox app or console.
- Stale app data: Sign out of the Xbox app, close it completely, restart the device and sign in again. On PC, update the Xbox app and Gaming Services before retrying.
If the listing still does not recognize your entitlement, capture the exact edition and plan shown on the store page and contact Xbox Support. Do not assume that purchasing Deluxe will fix an account-recognition problem; it may create an unnecessary charge.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which purchase is best for different players?
Your choice depends on whether you value subscription flexibility or permanent ownership and extras.
| Player situation | Most practical choice | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| You want to try the campaign or play the base game with friends | Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, where listed | Standard is included at launch, so there is no separate base-game purchase while the plan remains eligible. |
| You already subscribe and only want the core game | Use the included Standard Edition | Buying Standard again adds ownership but no Deluxe cosmetics or DLC. |
| You want the Soul cape, Blub pet and four hero skins | Buy or upgrade to Deluxe | Those items are identified as Deluxe extras, not subscription benefits. |
| You want DLC 1 and 2 as they release | Buy or upgrade to Deluxe | Deluxe includes both listed DLC entitlements, available as released. |
| You do not want an ongoing subscription | Purchase Standard or Deluxe outright | A direct purchase avoids depending on continued Game Pass eligibility; select the edition that matches your content needs. |
What should I verify before subscribing or buying?
- Confirm the title is listed as Minecraft Dungeons II, not another game in the Dungeons series.
- Check that your plan is Ultimate or PC Game Pass if you are relying on the launch inclusion.
- Match the platform: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud or a supported handheld.
- Read the edition name. Standard is the Game Pass-included base game; Deluxe is the paid bundle.
- Review the DLC wording: DLC 1 and 2 are included in Deluxe as released.
- Check your account region, device support, storage and network before installing or streaming.
What is the bottom-line answer?
Minecraft Dungeons II is included with Game Pass at launch through the Standard Edition. The official launch schedule names Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, with cloud, console, handheld and PC access listed. Deluxe remains a separate purchase or upgrade for the Soul cape, Blub pet, four hero skins and DLC 1 and 2 as released.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play Minecraft Dungeons II offline after installing it with Game Pass?
Installation does not turn a subscription entitlement into a perpetual license. Launch requirements can vary by platform, so check the Xbox app or console’s offline-play guidance and periodically reconnect to verify the active subscription.
Will my Game Pass progress transfer between Xbox and PC?
The game is listed with Xbox Play Anywhere support for console and PC. Sign in with the same Microsoft account on both platforms and follow the game’s own synchronization prompts; local saves or unsupported devices may not behave the same way.
Are the DLC packs available on the same day as the game?
The Deluxe description says DLC 1 and 2 are “available as released,” which means their entitlement is part of Deluxe but their release timing is not stated as launch day. Watch the game’s official store listing for each pack’s availability.
