IPEM Plus is a DitroniX power-monitoring board that combines an ESP32-C5 controller with an ATM90E36 metering IC. The project describes it as a configurable monitor for single-phase, split-phase and three-phase installations, with CT clamps or Rogowski current transformers and data links including Wi-Fi, LoRa and RS-485. It may suit a DIY or integration project, but its published feature list is not an independent accuracy test or proof of board-level safety certification.
What is IPEM Plus?
IPEM Plus is a self-contained energy-monitoring board from DitroniX. Its project documentation describes uses in homes, industrial and agricultural settings, solar installations and remote monitoring. The board pairs the ESP32-C5 with the ATM90E36 metering component and can operate on its own or send readings to other systems. These are capabilities stated by the project publisher, not independently verified whole-board results. DitroniX IPEM Plus project repository
The project says the board can report measurements such as RMS voltage and current, active and reactive power, power factor, phase angles, frequency and harmonics. It supports stated 50 Hz or 60 Hz configurations. The documentation does not establish a named, independently measured accuracy figure, so these measurement functions should not be mistaken for a performance guarantee.
Which electrical installations does it support?
According to DitroniX, IPEM Plus can be configured for single-phase, split/dual-phase, and three-phase star or delta arrangements. The configuration must match the site’s actual supply and the specific board revision; do not assume that one wiring setup works for every installation.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Single phase: for a single-phase supply and the corresponding voltage and current sensing arrangement.
- Split or dual phase: verify the required phase arrangement and sensor inputs for the local supply.
- Three phase: confirm whether the site uses star or delta wiring and check the board documentation for the matching configuration.
For an ESP32-based three-phase monitor, the controller is only one part of the system: the metering IC, voltage-sensing arrangement, current sensors, wiring topology and firmware all need to suit the installation.
Does IPEM Plus use CT clamps or Rogowski coils?
The project names both CT clamps and Rogowski current transformers as supported sensor categories. It presents CT clamps as a common installation option and Rogowski transformers as an option for higher-current or specialized monitoring. It does not establish one universal compatible model or rating.

Before selecting sensors, check the conductor dimensions, expected and maximum current, sensor output type, and the board’s documented input requirements. A sensor’s category alone does not establish electrical compatibility. Confirm the requirements against the current hardware documentation and the exact board revision.
How can it send data and integrate with Home Assistant?
DitroniX lists 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, an onboard SX1262-based LoRa radio and RS-485. Its project materials cite ESPHome, MQTT, Home Assistant and other local or remote integrations as possible software paths. That indicates potential integration routes, not that every route is preconfigured or works without setup.

| Connection | What the project lists | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi | 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi | Network coverage and the firmware or integration setup for the intended system. |
| LoRa | Onboard SX1262-based LoRa radio | Whether the radio deployment, network equipment and local radio rules fit the installation. Do not assume LoRaWAN support or a particular gateway arrangement without checking the project documentation. |
| RS-485 | Wired RS-485 link | Wiring, connected equipment and software protocol compatibility for the intended setup. |
For Home Assistant, the practical question is which firmware and data path you plan to use—for example, an ESPHome or MQTT-based route—and whether it is supported by the board’s current software and documentation. The repository presents these as integration options; it does not establish a single required setup or universal plug-and-play behavior.
What other hardware does the board include?
The project lists additional features beyond AC energy monitoring. Because accessories and details can vary by revision, check the current product documentation before buying parts around these features.

DitroniX describes AC voltage sensing through a lower-voltage transformer and says the design uses galvanic isolation. That is a description of the product’s sensing design, not a guarantee that a complete installation is safe. Transformer selection, wiring, protective devices, enclosure and local electrical requirements remain installation-specific.

Mains monitoring involves hazardous voltages. Do not connect, alter or install mains wiring unless you have the appropriate qualifications and follow the applicable electrical rules and the board’s installation documentation. The ESP32-C5 chip datasheet describes the chip; it does not certify the assembled IPEM Plus board. Espressif’s ESP32-C5 Series Datasheet v1.5 is dated 2026-09-03.
What is established about accuracy and certification?
The available project materials describe measurement functions and include a Certification folder, but do not substantiate a specific regulatory certification for the assembled IPEM Plus board. Nor do they provide a named independent whole-board accuracy test or numeric accuracy result. Do not treat an included folder, a metering IC specification or a feature description as proof of board certification or measured system accuracy; ask for documentation covering the exact board and intended use.
Where can you buy it, and what should you verify?
The project repository identifies the DitroniX shop and eBay as purchase channels, with eBay availability dependent on stock. A stock note dated June 2026 does not confirm availability on 2026-10-04. A current price, confirmed live listing, Amazon listing and exact accessory SKUs are not established here.
- Confirm the exact board revision and its wiring documentation.
- Match the phase topology and CT or Rogowski sensor specifications to the site.
- Check which firmware, display, enclosure, transformer and other accessories are included or separately required.
- Verify current stock, price, shipping and return terms with the seller.
- Request relevant certification and test documents if those are requirements for your installation.
The repository identifies the project as GPL-3.0 licensed. That licensing information does not itself establish product certification, seller terms or support commitments. DitroniX also publishes a comparison of related mains power energy monitors, which can help put the project in context but is a manufacturer comparison rather than independent testing.
