The original support tickets have not been recovered in the account described by Power Up Gaming, so what they contained—and whether they predated Wargaming’s internal project work—remains unresolved.
This account follows Power Up Gaming’s report, published October 2, 2026. The outlet says it reviewed correspondence and other material, but the underlying support tickets are not reproduced in its report. The documents and claims described below should therefore be understood as reported by that outlet, not independently authenticated here.
What does Shashko say he sent?
Shashko says he used Wargaming’s support system in 2010 to submit concepts for aviation and naval games named World of Air and World of Battleships. He told Power Up Gaming, “I submitted the proposals for these projects in 2010.” The report describes him as a long-time Wargaming player and says he had been involved in World of Tanks testing from 2009; it does not establish a formal role at the company.
Shashko also told the outlet, “I have preserved a 17-year archive of emails and registration records.” That archive may preserve material relevant to his account, but the report says the original 2010 tickets themselves have not been recovered. A later record that he made the claim is not the same as the missing submission or proof of its exact wording.

According to Power Up Gaming, Shashko said he could see 19 of 144 support enquiries associated with his account in the active interface. The outlet reports that Wargaming said historical technical records might remain in legacy backup systems, described as cold storage and not readily searchable or recoverable in intelligible form without disproportionate effort. Those figures and descriptions are the outlet’s account, not independently inspected system records; whether relevant backups still exist in a retrievable form is unknown.
What does the chronology establish?
The dates reported by Power Up Gaming show when Shashko reportedly raised the claim and when Wargaming publicly announced or named projects. They do not establish when the company first conceived those projects internally.

| Date | Reported event | What it can show |
|---|---|---|
| 2010 | Shashko says he submitted the two concepts through Wargaming support; the original tickets have not been recovered in the account described by the outlet. | The claimed submission date, not the tickets’ contents or receipt. |
| January 2012 | Shashko reportedly told Wargaming he had sent an idea for an aviation game around a year and a half earlier. | He was making an aviation-submission claim by 2012. |
| May 2012 | He reportedly named World of Air, dated it to about two years earlier, and asked about testing World of Warplanes. | A more specific later account of the claimed proposal, not proof that the same name or details appeared in a 2010 ticket. |
| June 7, 2011 | Wargaming announced World of Warplanes, according to the outlet’s chronology. | A public announcement date; it does not reveal the project’s internal conception date. |
| August 16, 2011 | Wargaming announced World of Battleships, according to the outlet. | A public announcement date, not an internal start date. |
| July 30, 2012 | A job advertisement reportedly still used the project name World of Battleships. | The name remained in use at least at that point, before the project was renamed World of Warships. |
| September 17, 2015 | The outlet gives this as the release date for World of Warships. | A reported release date, not evidence of when development began. |
Power Up Gaming also describes a separate exchange in which Wargaming acknowledged receiving a suggestion and said it had been forwarded to the appropriate department. The report does not identify that suggestion. It therefore cannot connect that acknowledgment to the missing 2010 tickets or to either named concept.
What records could clarify the dispute?
No single later recollection can answer every part of the question. The most useful records would be contemporaneous, attributable to a particular sender and recipient, and specific enough to identify the disputed concepts.

- The original 2010 tickets and attachments: Their text could show whether Shashko named either concept and what, if anything, he proposed. Ticket metadata could help establish submission time, account identity, and receipt by Wargaming.
- Recoverable legacy records: Backups, export logs, or other retained technical records could potentially corroborate the tickets’ existence and metadata. The report’s description of cold storage does not establish that a usable copy survives.
- Dated correspondence from 2012 onward: This can document when Shashko told Wargaming about his claim and how he described it then. On its own, it cannot prove the exact contents of an earlier ticket or show that the company received it before its teams began work.
- Wargaming’s internal project records: Dated pitches, design documents, planning material, or project-creation metadata could help establish the company’s own development timeline. Power Up Gaming reports that Wargaming did not provide an internal conception date; the report does not establish that any particular internal record exists.
For any item, the key questions are when it was created, who created or received it, whether it is an original record or a later recollection, and whether it contains the specific names or concepts at issue. The company’s internal timeline and the terms governing submissions at the time are separate questions: evidence of a suggestion’s receipt would not, by itself, establish either one.
What has Wargaming said about who made the games?
Power Up Gaming reports that Wargaming support characterized World of Warships as a “team effort” and did not identify individual originators. The outlet says Lesta Studio developed the game with Wargaming before the companies separated in 2022, when Wargaming exited Russia and Belarus. This account does not identify who originated particular ideas or resolve whether Shashko’s alleged submissions influenced a project.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What do the published terms and the 2021 suspension tell us?
Submission terms
The outlet reports that Wargaming’s EULA effective April 10, 2024 includes a “Feedback and User Submissions” section asking users not to send unsolicited creative concepts and treating submissions as Wargaming’s property to the maximum extent permitted by law. It says the official World of Tanks EULA last updated March 20, 2012 did not include that section, but referred users to a separate Terms of Service. Power Up Gaming says it did not locate a 2010 copy of those separate terms. The 2012 EULA’s omission does not establish what other terms may have applied in 2010.
Account suspension
Power Up Gaming says Shashko’s main World of Tanks account was permanently suspended in 2021, with “forbidden modifications” given as the reason. Shashko believes the suspension was retaliation for his authorship claim, but the outlet says it saw no correspondence directly linking the ban to that dispute. The cause remains unestablished by the material described in the report.

What remains unanswered?
Power Up Gaming said Wargaming had not responded to its questions by the report’s publication on October 2, 2026. That is a time-specific account, not a statement about any response after publication. Based on the report, the central unanswered questions are the exact contents and recoverability of the 2010 tickets, Wargaming’s internal conception timeline, the terms governing submissions in 2010, and whether the 2021 suspension had any connection to Shashko’s claim.
