Watch the four official Grand Theft Auto VI videos in this order: Trailer 1, Trailer 2, An Extended Look, then the Launch Trailer. That sequence moves from the basic setting and protagonists to the central conflict, then to extended in-game evidence and finally to the release announcement.
The official GTA VI website is the safest hub for every video. Use Rockstar’s Newswire posts alongside it when you need the publication date or the company’s own description. As you watch, separate confirmed information from your own frame-by-frame observations and from speculation.

GTA 6 trailers in order
The order below follows the official lineup and gives each video a distinct job. Do not treat a later trailer as a replacement for an earlier one: each adds a different layer of context.

| 1 | Trailer 1 | December 4, 2023 on Rockstar’s trailer page | Leonida, modern Vice City, and the central pair Jason and Lucia |
| 2 | Trailer 2 | May 6, 2025 | An “easy score” that goes wrong and a criminal conspiracy extending across Leonida |
| 3 | An Extended Look | August 27, 2026 | Longer, visibly in-game PlayStation 5 footage for studying environments, animation, production detail, and systems |
| 4 | Launch Trailer | October 15, 2026 | The latest named video in the official lineup, with the launch date and platforms |
Rockstar’s Newswire announcement for the first trailer is dated December 5, 2023, one day after the December 4 date shown on the trailer page. Those dates describe different page and post events, not two different first trailers.

Where to watch the GTA 6 trailers
Start at the official GTA VI website. Its video section lists Trailer 1, Trailer 2, An Extended Look, and the Launch Trailer with Rockstar’s official watch links. This is preferable to relying on a re-upload whose title, edit, audio track, or resolution may have changed.
Use the corresponding Newswire pages when you want Rockstar’s written synopsis or the date attached to an announcement. The written descriptions are useful evidence, but they are not a substitute for watching the footage: they tell you what Rockstar confirms, while the images show what is presented without necessarily explaining it.
Choose a viewing setup that preserves detail
- Use the highest official resolution your display and connection can sustain.
- Watch once without pausing so you understand the rhythm and emotional emphasis.
- Watch again with a timestamped note for every detail you intend to check.
- For the Extended Look, use a large screen if possible; small previews can hide environmental and animation cues.
- Keep the original audio on the first pass. A later pass with subtitles can help when dialogue is difficult to catch.
How to prepare a detail-spotting worksheet
A simple worksheet prevents a common mistake: remembering a striking image but forgetting which trailer showed it or whether Rockstar actually confirmed its meaning. Make one row per observation and use these columns:
| Column | What to record |
|---|---|
| Trailer and timestamp | The video name and the exact time counter where the image or line appears |
| Subject | Character, location, vehicle, activity, interface element, lighting, sound, or transition |
| What is visible or audible | A literal description without interpreting motives or plot |
| Confidence | Confirmed by Rockstar’s text, directly visible, or an interpretation that remains unconfirmed |
| Connection | Whether the detail echoes, expands, or contrasts with an earlier trailer |
Write the literal description before the interpretation. “Jason and Lucia appear together in a scene” is an observation. “They are escaping after a betrayal” is a theory unless the dialogue or official description establishes it. This distinction becomes increasingly important as the trailers become more densely edited.
Trailer 1: establish the world and the central pair
Start with Leonida, not just Vice City
The first trailer introduces the state of Leonida and presents modern Vice City as part of that wider setting. When you take notes, use two geography labels: Vice City for the city locations and Leonida for the broader state. That separation matters because later material describes events extending beyond the city.
On your first pause-enabled pass, mark every change in apparent setting without assuming that a cut represents a journey in chronological order. A rapid sequence can place several locations next to one another for mood rather than geography. Your worksheet should therefore record what is visible—urban street, waterfront, interior, rural-looking area, or another setting—without assigning an unconfirmed map position.
Track Jason and Lucia as a pair
Trailer 1 establishes Jason and Lucia as the story’s central pair. Create separate notes for each character, then a third column for moments in which they act together. Record actions, proximity, eye-lines, physical assistance, arguments, and changes in circumstance. These notes let you compare how the relationship is framed later without claiming a specific relationship label that Rockstar has not supplied.

- ADAPTIVE TRIGGERS AND HAPTIC FEEDBACK — Feel every moment through the DualSense controller, from directional damage to weather effects, rough road surfaces to explosions, and more.
- TEMPEST 3D AUDIO — Hear the sounds of the world with pinpoint precision: the throttle of a stolen supercar, the rattle of neighbouring gunfire, the roar of a helicopter overhead, and more.
- Please note that although this game is Region Free or Region Unlocked and will work on all systems, this is the European version and may differ from the local version in age rating, labeling or instructions.
Pay attention to repeated visual associations rather than trying to identify every background face. If the same pair appears in different environments, note the environment and action, not an invented chronology. The useful question is whether the trailer consistently keeps the two characters at the center of the story; it does, and the subsequent official descriptions continue that framing.
Handle the first-trailer date correctly
For a publication or personal archive, record December 4, 2023 as the date on Rockstar’s trailer page and December 5, 2023 as the date on the Newswire announcement. Calling one of these dates an error obscures the simple explanation: a video page and an announcement post can carry different publication dates.
Trailer 2: identify the score and the larger danger
Read the official premise before interpreting shots
Rockstar describes Jason and Lucia as people who have always known “the deck is stacked against them.” The description then says that an easy score goes wrong, leaving them “on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida.” Those are the confirmed story coordinates for this trailer.
Use that wording as a checklist. First, identify images that appear connected to the proposed easy score. Second, note moments that show consequences rather than assuming every tense image belongs to the same event. Third, mark evidence that the stakes extend across Leonida rather than remaining inside Vice City. The description confirms the scale of the conspiracy; individual shots still need to be described cautiously.
Separate setup from prediction
For each notable cut, write two sentences in your notes: one about what the frame shows and one about what it might imply. Keep the second sentence visibly labeled as an interpretation. This prevents a montage from becoming a false synopsis when you later discuss it with other viewers.
Do not convert costume, weather, a vehicle, a weapon, or a background sign into a confirmed plot point unless Rockstar’s text supports that conclusion. Trailers use visual compression, parallel editing, and deliberate misdirection. The reliable information here is the score-gone-wrong premise, the criminal conspiracy, the Leonida-wide scope, and the continuing focus on Jason and Lucia.
An Extended Look: study the visible game systems
Why this video deserves a separate pass
Rockstar says An Extended Look was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5 and calls it an extended look at the series’ biggest and most immersive evolution. That statement makes this the best stop in the lineup for examining production detail that is visibly demonstrated rather than inferred from a short cinematic montage.

“Captured entirely from in-game footage” does not mean every moment is an unedited play session or that every unseen feature is confirmed. It means the footage is presented as in-game PlayStation 5 material. Describe what the camera shows and avoid extending that evidence to systems that do not appear.

Watch this video once for flow, then repeat it in short segments. On the second pass, record changes in lighting, weather, crowd density, traffic behavior, water, vegetation, interiors, and surface detail only when they are visible. Note whether a transition appears to be gameplay, a cutscene, or an editorial cut; if you cannot tell, leave the category undecided.
Animation deserves its own column. Look for changes in posture, transitions between actions, facial movement, interaction with objects, and how characters move through different spaces. Describe the movement itself rather than assigning a hidden technical cause. “The character shifts weight before moving” is supportable; “the game uses a particular animation technology” is not established by appearance alone.
Use frame-by-frame analysis responsibly
- Pause at a frame that contains a potentially important detail.
- Write the timestamp and a literal description before zooming or enhancing the image.
- Check adjacent frames to determine whether the detail is persistent, moving, or an artifact of compression.
- Compare the observation with the official wording, but do not treat a match as proof of an unseen mechanic.
- Label the result as visible evidence, a reasonable interpretation, or speculation.
Because no named numerical statistics are published on the consulted Rockstar pages, do not add unofficial counts for map size, crowd numbers, frame rate, resolution, or other performance claims. A visual impression can be useful without being turned into a number Rockstar has not provided.
Launch Trailer: place the videos in release context
The Launch Trailer is the latest named video in Rockstar’s official lineup. It repeats the Jason-and-Lucia setup and provides the clearest release context for viewers deciding which platform to use or when to plan a purchase.

GTA 6 release date and platforms
Rockstar identifies November 19, 2026 as the release date and lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as launch platforms. Treat that as the official platform statement for this lineup. Do not infer availability on other systems from a trailer appearance, a retailer listing, or a fan claim.
Platform information can change in later announcements, so check the current official GTA VI site if you are making a purchase decision close to launch. The date and platforms above describe Rockstar’s announcement associated with the Launch Trailer, not a guarantee about editions, regional storefront timing, or future ports.

What to look for in the GTA 6 trailer
Use the following pass after you have watched all four videos in order. It is designed to answer the practical question behind most detail guides: which clues are worth recording, and how can you avoid overstating them?
Characters and relationship cues
- List every appearance of Jason and Lucia, including solo and shared scenes.
- Record what each person is doing before you interpret why they are doing it.
- Mark changes in proximity, eye contact, assistance, conflict, and shared reactions.
- Compare repeated cues across trailers instead of treating one isolated frame as definitive.
Rockstar consistently frames Jason and Lucia as the core pair. That is a confirmed narrative emphasis. The precise nature of every interaction remains something to observe and interpret, not something to invent.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsGeography and movement
- Tag a scene as Vice City only when the city context is clear.
- Use Leonida for the wider state or for scenes that the trailer places outside the city.
- Note transitions without assuming they show a continuous trip.
- Look for recurring environmental markers that can help you organize locations, but call them markers rather than confirmed map boundaries.
This approach reflects the official distinction: Vice City is presented within Leonida, and Trailer 2 describes the conspiracy as stretching across the state.
Plot setup and cause-and-effect
Build a two-column timeline. In the first column, put only events or statements directly supported by the videos and Rockstar’s descriptions. In the second, put possible links between scenes. The first column can include the easy score, its going wrong, and the resulting criminal-conspiracy premise. The second can include hypotheses about which scene causes which consequence.
Keep the columns separate when publishing notes or discussing theories. Readers should be able to tell whether a sentence is an official setup, a visible observation, or a prediction about the finished game.
Presentation and technical evidence
Use the Extended Look for questions about what the footage visibly demonstrates on PlayStation 5: environmental richness, animation transitions, production staging, and systems shown on screen. Avoid turning that visual evidence into an unsupported specification. The video can show a behavior without naming its implementation, performance target, or availability across platforms.
Release information
Reserve a final worksheet row for the release announcement: November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Keeping this separate from visual theories makes it harder to mistake a fan expectation for an official platform or date statement.

How to compare the trailers without losing context
| Question | Best source in the sequence | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Where is the story set? | Trailer 1, then Trailer 2 | Start with Vice City inside Leonida, then track the wider state-level scope |
| Who drives the story? | Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 | Follow Jason and Lucia’s shared and separate actions |
| What is the immediate conflict? | Trailer 2 | Use the official easy-score and criminal-conspiracy description as the confirmed framework |
| What can be studied visually? | An Extended Look | Examine only details visibly presented in in-game PlayStation 5 footage |
| When and where does the game launch? | Launch Trailer | Use Rockstar’s stated date and launch-platform list |
The table is a viewing aid, not a claim that one trailer contains no information outside its primary purpose. It simply identifies where a particular question is answered most directly.
Common mistakes when analyzing GTA 6 trailers
Mixing official description with fan theory
A description can confirm a premise without confirming the identity of every character, the order of every shot, or the outcome of an event. Quote or paraphrase Rockstar for the premise, then mark your visual reading as an observation or theory.
Treating montage order as story order
Editors arrange trailers for suspense and contrast. A shot that follows another may occur earlier, later, or in a different context in the game. Use timestamps to document the edit, but do not call the edit a chronological sequence unless the video or official text establishes one.
Assuming every visual is a new feature
A visible behavior proves that the footage contains that behavior; it does not automatically prove a universal system, a technical specification, or a feature available in every mode. Phrase notes narrowly and let the footage do only the work it can support.
Using unofficial numbers as facts
The consulted Rockstar pages publish no named numerical statistics needed for this guide. Avoid repeating fan-made map measurements, performance figures, character counts, or other numbers as if they were official. If a future Rockstar page publishes a figure, attach the number to its edition, platform, region, date, and stated measurement conditions.
A repeatable viewing routine
- Watch all four videos once in the published order without pausing.
- Rewatch Trailer 1 and create the Vice City, Leonida, Jason, and Lucia categories.
- Rewatch Trailer 2 and add the easy-score, consequence, and conspiracy categories.
- Study An Extended Look in short segments, recording only visible PlayStation 5 in-game evidence.
- Use the Launch Trailer to update the release-date and platform row.
- Review every note and replace claims of certainty with labels such as confirmed, visible, interpretation, or speculation where appropriate.
- When sharing a finding, include the trailer name and timestamp so another viewer can check the same frame.
Final checklist for a spoiler-conscious guide
- Are the videos listed as Trailer 1, Trailer 2, An Extended Look, and Launch Trailer?
- Have you distinguished the December 4 trailer-page date from the December 5 Newswire announcement?
- Have you treated Vice City as part of Leonida rather than using the names interchangeably?
- Have you identified Jason and Lucia as the central pair without inventing unconfirmed relationship details?
- Have you described the easy score and criminal conspiracy using Rockstar’s confirmed wording?
- Have you labeled frame-by-frame interpretations as observations or theories?
- Have you limited Extended Look claims to what is visibly shown in in-game PlayStation 5 footage?
- Have you recorded November 19, 2026 and PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X|S as the official launch context?
- Have you avoided unsupported numerical statistics?
Following that checklist gives you a complete, evidence-conscious way to watch the GTA 6 trailers in order while still leaving room for informed interpretation. The official videos establish the setting, central pair, escalating premise, visible production detail, and launch information; your timestamped notes can document everything else without presenting speculation as fact.
