The 2026 Game Awards are scheduled for Thursday, December 10, 2026. The Opening Act is listed for 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time (4:30 p.m. Pacific Time). The broadcast is promoted as free to stream across major services. On the day, start at The Game Awards’ official homepage or FAQ, use the live links shown there, and avoid relying on an old platform list.
For a completed show, the verified The Game Awards YouTube channel is the clearest full-broadcast source. Its 2025 upload is a 4K60FPS livestream replay, while the official Rewind page provides the archive route for earlier ceremonies.
When The Game Awards 2026 starts
The official schedule currently lists Thursday, December 10, 2026. The Opening Act begins at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT. Treat that as the published start time for the event’s opening segment rather than assuming the main awards presentation begins at a separate, earlier hour.
If you live outside Eastern or Pacific time, convert the listed time for your location on the event day. Check the official FAQ again before watching because schedules, pre-show details and regional listings can change. The organizer’s wording says the event is available to stream for free across major streaming services on that date.

Where to watch the live broadcast
The safest route is the official The Game Awards homepage or FAQ. Open it on the day of the show and follow the current watch links. This approach matters because distribution partners and country coverage can change from one ceremony to the next.
YouTube
The official YouTube channel is one of the established distribution outlets. Open the verified channel, select the live event when it appears, and confirm that the title and channel identify The Game Awards rather than a reaction stream or a fan upload. YouTube works in a desktop or mobile browser and through its apps on supported phones, televisions and game consoles.
Twitch
Twitch was included in the official 2025 distribution. Use the current link from The Game Awards’ site rather than an old bookmark, then verify that the stream is on the official event account. A search result with a similar title may be a co-stream, commentary feed or clipped segment instead of the primary broadcast.

Steam and additional digital and social partners carried the 2025 event. The exact set of partners for 2026 is time-sensitive, so the official homepage should be treated as the source of truth. If a partner is not listed there for your region, use another official link rather than assuming that last year’s availability continues.

Prime Video
Amazon announced live Prime Video carriage for the 2025 show in more than 200 countries and territories. That announcement does not establish 2026 coverage. Check Prime Video’s event listing and The Game Awards’ current distribution information near December 10 before depending on it. A Prime Video subscription or local service eligibility may be required even though the event is promoted as free on major streaming services generally.

“Free” describes the advertised event stream, not every device or service around it. You may still need an internet connection, a compatible app, a platform account, or an existing subscription for a particular partner. Optional equipment such as a streaming stick, smart television, HDMI cable or headphones can make viewing more convenient, but none is required by the event information.
Step-by-step: watch The Game Awards live
- Check the date and time. Mark Thursday, December 10, 2026, and convert 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT to your local time.
- Open the official homepage or FAQ. Do this on the event day, even if you watched through a partner last year.
- Choose a listed platform. Select YouTube, Twitch, Steam, Prime Video or another outlet shown for your location.
- Verify the stream identity. Check the channel or account name, event title and whether the page describes a live Opening Act and main show. Do not treat a thumbnail, reaction video or trailer compilation as proof that you found the official feed.
- Test playback before the start. Sign in if the chosen service requires it, update the app if prompted, and play any available preview. This gives you time to switch to another official outlet.
- Use a stable connection. If video quality drops, lower the player’s quality setting temporarily rather than refreshing repeatedly. Once playback is stable, raise quality again if your connection allows it.
- Keep a second official route ready. Leave the homepage or FAQ open in another browser tab or on a second device. If one service has an outage, follow the alternate link shown by the organizer.
Watching on common devices
Computer
Open the official event link in a current desktop browser. Full-screen playback, browser audio controls and a wired or reliable wireless connection are usually the simplest setup. If the stream does not load, disable an aggressive content-blocking extension for that page, reload once, and try the alternate official platform.
Phone or tablet
Use the YouTube, Twitch, Steam or Prime Video app when the service provides one, or open the official link in your mobile browser. Connect to Wi-Fi when possible, keep the device charging, and check that the app has permission to play audio. Mobile networks can apply data limits, so a lower video-quality setting may prevent interruptions.

Smart TV or streaming device
Search the installed app for the verified event channel, or open the official homepage on a phone or computer and cast only to a device you control. If a TV search returns several similarly named streams, use the organizer’s link to identify the correct account. A streaming stick, HDMI cable or headphones are optional convenience aids, not requirements.
Game console
Use the console’s supported YouTube, Twitch or browser app and sign in before the show. If the app cannot find the event, follow the official homepage from a phone or computer and switch to another listed service rather than downloading an unverified application.
How to find the full official replay
Use the verified YouTube channel
For the completed 2025 broadcast, look for the video titled “THE GAME AWARDS 2025: Official 4K60FPS Livestream.” It was published on December 11, 2025, on the verified The Game Awards YouTube channel. The description identifies both an Opening Act and the main show, which helps distinguish the complete event from a short highlights package.
When searching, confirm all three details: the official channel identity, the year in the title, and a duration or description consistent with a complete broadcast. Unofficial reaction uploads, isolated acceptance speeches and trailer compilations are not substitutes for the full show.

Use the official Rewind archive
The official Rewind page is the canonical archive hub. It currently exposes “REWIND TO 2025” and “REWIND TO 2024.” Choose the year there when you want an older ceremony or when a direct video address has changed. The archive page is also the best recovery path if a search engine surfaces clipped or unofficial videos first.
If a replay seems to be missing
- Return to the official homepage and open the Rewind page rather than trusting a third-party playlist.
- Check that the video is from the verified channel and that its description identifies the Opening Act and main show when applicable.
- Try the official channel’s Videos or Live sections; platform search indexing can lag after a broadcast.
- Check again later if the live page has not yet been converted to a replay.
Regional availability and changing platform lists
Streaming rights are not necessarily identical worldwide. The 2025 Prime Video announcement covered more than 200 countries and territories, but that figure is specific to that announcement and year. It should not be presented as a guarantee for 2026. Language options, app support, local catalog listings and account requirements can also differ.
For a reliable regional check, open the official site from your location, inspect the links it presents, and compare them with the platform’s own event listing. If a service is absent from the official page or reports that the title is unavailable in your country, choose another listed outlet. Avoid VPN-based workarounds that may conflict with a service’s terms or produce an unstable stream.

Troubleshooting live playback
The stream cannot be found
Start over at the official homepage or FAQ. Search results often mix the current event with old broadcasts, commentary and clips. Confirm the date, account name and live-status indicator before pressing play.

Video buffers or quality falls
Pause other high-bandwidth activity, move closer to your Wi-Fi access point, or switch temporarily to a lower quality. If the problem continues, open another official platform listed for your region. Do not assume that repeated refreshes will fix a service-side outage.
There is sound but no picture
Reload the player once, check the app version, and test another official outlet. On a television or console, verify that the correct HDMI input is selected if you are using an external device.
The replay is only a clip
Use the verified channel and the official Rewind page. A short video labeled with a presenter, trailer or award category is not the full ceremony. The 2025 full replay is explicitly identified as an “Official 4K60FPS Livestream.”

The organizer reported 171 million global livestreams for the full 2025 broadcast and 154 million for the full 2024 broadcast. These are counts of livestreams of the complete broadcast, not counts of unique people. A single viewer can generate more than one livestream session across devices or after reconnecting, so the figures should not be rewritten as a headcount of individual viewers.
