To watch a channel that runs uploaded videos as a continuous YouTube broadcast, open YouTube and choose Live on a computer. In the Android app, open the top-left menu and choose Live. If the channel shared a stream link, opening that link is the fastest route. For a scheduled broadcast, select Notify me when YouTube offers it.
The video may be prerecorded, but the channel is sending it through YouTube as a live broadcast. You watch it from an ordinary live-watch page; there is no special viewer mode for “uploaded videos live.”
Find the channel’s current 24/7 stream
On a desktop browser
- Go to YouTube.
- Select Live from YouTube’s navigation.
- Browse the current and upcoming broadcasts.
- Open the stream whose title or channel name matches the one you want.
The Live page is the broadest discovery route because it shows streams beyond channels you already subscribe to. A channel-shared URL bypasses browsing: open it, then check that the watch page shows a live indicator and a current broadcast.

- Open the YouTube app.
- Open the menu in the top-left corner.
- Choose Live.
- Tap the channel’s broadcast.
YouTube also allows entry from a live stream encountered while browsing Shorts. Menu placement can change as the app is updated, but the Live destination remains the relevant section for current and upcoming broadcasts.

From the channel page
Open the channel directly and look for its live listing. If nothing is live, check the channel’s upcoming broadcasts. A scheduled stream can show Notify me; select it to ask YouTube for a reminder when the broadcast is about to begin. If the channel has posted a direct stream link in its description, community post, website or social profile, use that link instead of searching by title.
Identify the format before you press play
YouTube uses several labels that look similar in search results but behave differently.

A title such as “24/7,” “lofi radio,” “bhajan,” or “news loop” describes the channel’s programming, not a separate YouTube playback type. The reliable confirmation is the watch page’s live status and the moving live position.

Watch the stream step by step
1. Open the live watch page
Select a result from Live, the channel page, or the shared URL. Wait for the player to load. If the channel is between broadcasts, YouTube may show an upcoming page rather than a playing video; use Notify me if available.
2. Check that it is actually live
Look for the live label, a current viewer/chat area, and a player that identifies the broadcast as live. A normal video with a similar thumbnail is not proof that the channel is currently on air. If the broadcast ended, the page may become a replay or the channel may replace it with a highlight.

3. Choose playback quality
Use the player’s settings menu to select an available resolution or leave it on Auto. Auto adjusts to your connection and device. A 24/7 channel may offer several qualities, but the options depend on what the broadcaster sends and what YouTube makes available to your device.
4. Decide whether to use Live Chat
Live Chat appears on YouTube watch pages. It is optional: you can watch without posting, signing in to chat, or keeping the chat panel open. Embedded players do not provide the full Live Chat experience, so open the original YouTube watch page if chat is important.
5. Use pause and resume carefully
YouTube’s DVR feature can let you pause a live broadcast and resume from the point where you stopped. On very long streams, however, rewind may be limited or unavailable. YouTube specifically cautions that streams longer than 12 hours can have reduced DVR capability, and some devices or platform variants impose lower limits. Do not assume that pausing a 24/7 channel lets you return to the exact beginning of the day’s programming.
Why uploaded videos can appear as a live broadcast
A creator can send prerecorded files through an encoder or a cloud streaming service. The encoder connects to YouTube with a stream URL and stream key, then continuously sends the video feed. YouTube publishes the resulting watch page as a live stream. The viewer sees a standard live page; the fact that the source files were uploaded earlier is a creator-side production detail.
Uploading a video to a channel by itself does not create a 24/7 live channel. The creator must arrange a continuous streaming setup, keep the feed connected, and follow YouTube’s rules. A playlist can supply the sequence, while an encoder or cloud service handles the ongoing connection and looping.

If you are setting up the broadcast yourself
This section is for a channel owner who wants viewers to see uploaded videos as live. It is not required to watch someone else’s stream.
Prepare the YouTube channel
- YouTube says live streaming requires channel verification.
- The channel must not have live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days.
- The creator must be at least 16 years old.
- First-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours.
- The broadcast must comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
Connect an encoder
- In YouTube’s live-control workflow, create or select a stream and obtain the stream URL and stream key.
- Enter those two values in the encoder or cloud service. Treat the key like a password; anyone who has it can send a feed to your channel.
- Add the prerecorded files or playlist in the order you want them shown.
- Start the encoder. When YouTube receives the feed, the watch page changes to live.
- Monitor the preview and status before sharing the URL with viewers.
Exact encoder controls vary by software, but the essential path is always the same: YouTube supplies the destination and key, the encoder sends the video, and YouTube distributes the live page.
Plan the content loop
Use files you have permission to broadcast. Music, devotional recordings, sports footage, films, television clips and other material can trigger copyright claims or removal even when the files are already on your hard drive. A loop that repeats indefinitely should also be reviewed for YouTube’s policies on reused or repetitive content, especially if you plan to monetize the channel. Keep documentation for licenses and permissions.
Long-stream controls and replay limits
DVR is not a guaranteed time machine
When DVR is available, you can pause, resume and move backward within the portion YouTube has retained for the live session. On a broadcast longer than 12 hours, YouTube says rewind may be limited or unavailable. The practical result is that a viewer joining after several hours may not be able to scrub back to the opening song, lesson or program.
A 24/7 stream may have no complete archive
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. If a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. A nonstop channel is therefore not a reliable archive: when the broadcast ends or is interrupted, there may be no full-length replay. Check the channel’s Videos or Live tabs for separately posted recordings, segments or highlights.

What happens after an interruption
If the encoder disconnects, YouTube may show an ended stream and the channel may need to start a new broadcast. Viewers can refresh the page, return to the channel’s Live tab, or open the latest shared link. A new stream can have a different URL, so an old bookmark is not always sufficient.
Troubleshooting while watching

Can I watch without subscribing to the channel?
