Perchance is not one fixed AI app with identical image, video, and story screens. It is a platform that hosts many generators, so the page at /ai-text-to-images may look different from /ai-image-generator, and the story and video pages can use different embedded fields.
The safest approach is to use the named public generator you want, check the controls inside its embedded panel, and treat the Perchance controls around that panel as separate editor and page controls.
Before you start
- You can use the indexed public generators without creating an account.
- Perchance says an account is needed to create your own generators, not simply to interact with public ones.
- The current public image route is perchance.org/ai-text-to-images.
- For stories, try AI Visual Story Generator or AI Story Generator.
- ai-video-generator exists, but its embedded controls can change. Pretty AI Video Generator is another separately named public generator, not proof of a single official Perchance video product.
If a route does not show the fields described in an older tutorial, do not assume you are doing something wrong. The route may point to a different generator or a newer version of its embedded interface.

How to use Perchance AI image generator
- Open perchance.org/ai-text-to-images.
- Wait for the embedded generator panel to load. The outer Perchance page may show controls such as fullscreen, warnings, reload, auto, a sparkle button, a help button, and redo, undo, and adjust controls.
- Use the prompt and other fields displayed inside the embedded panel. Their names and available settings are generator-specific, so follow the labels currently visible rather than a copied list from an older guide.
- Describe the subject, setting, composition, lighting, art direction, and required details in plain language. For example:
small red sailboat on a foggy lake at dawn, viewed from shore, cinematic landscape photography, soft cool light. - Submit the prompt using the action shown by that generator. Wait for the result; repeated clicks can create duplicate requests or trigger rate limits.
- Use the result panel’s available save or download action if you want a local copy. If no download action is visible, right-clicking or long-pressing the image may provide a browser save option, although that depends on the generator and device.
Writing better image prompts

Change one or two details between attempts. Rewriting the entire prompt makes it harder to identify which change improved or damaged the result. Text inside generated images is also often unreliable, so create the artwork first and add precise labels in an image editor when accuracy matters.

How to use a Perchance AI story generator
- Open AI Visual Story Generator for a story intended to include images, or use AI Story Generator for a text-focused story.
- Read the fields shown in the embedded generator. These two routes are separate generators and may not offer the same choices.
- Supply a compact brief: genre, audience, main character, setting, conflict, tone, ending, and approximate length.
- For a visual story, specify what should remain consistent between scenes, such as the character’s age, clothing, hair, color palette, and illustration style.
- Start generation once. Longer stories or stories with several images can take longer and may use more requests than a short text-only result.
- Review the output for continuity. AI-generated stories commonly change names, clothing, locations, ages, or motivations between sections.
A useful story brief looks like this:
Write a six-scene mystery for teenagers. The protagonist is Mina, a 15-year-old with short black hair and a yellow rain jacket. Set every scene in the same coastal town during one stormy evening. Keep the tone tense but not frightening. Each scene should end with a small clue, and resolve the mystery clearly in scene six. Add a concise visual description for each scene.
For consistent results, generate a short outline first, then ask for the scenes. If the generator only offers a single form, put the continuity rules near the beginning of the prompt and repeat the most important character details in each scene request.
How to use Perchance AI video generators
- Open perchance.org/ai-video-generator and inspect the embedded panel.
- If that page is unavailable or does not contain the tool you expected, check the separately named Pretty AI Video Generator.
- Use only the video options actually displayed on the page. The public route does not expose a universal, documented list of video settings or prompt commands.
- Describe movement explicitly. Include the subject’s action, camera movement, speed, environment, lighting, and what must remain still.
- Submit once and allow the process to finish. Video generation is usually more demanding than producing a single image, so a slow result does not automatically mean the page has failed.
Example video prompt:
A locked-off camera watches a paper boat drift slowly through a rain-filled gutter. Ripples move outward with each raindrop, the boat rotates slightly, and warm window light reflects on the water. No camera shake, no cuts, realistic motion.
Keep the first test simple. A single subject, one action, and a short visual event are easier to evaluate than a scene containing several characters, rapid cuts, text overlays, and complex camera movement.
What the Perchance page controls do
The controls around the embedded generator belong to the Perchance shell and editor rather than representing a guaranteed set of AI options. Depending on the page, you may see:
- fullscreen — expands the working area.
- warnings — displays editor warnings. A warning is not necessarily an error; Perchance notes that valid code can still look unusual and trigger a warning.
- reload — reloads the generator page or embedded content.
- auto — an outer-page control whose exact behavior depends on the current generator.
- ✨ and ❓ — shortcut controls exposed by the shell; use the visible tooltip or panel text to identify their current action.
- redo, undo, and adjust — editing or page controls, not universal image or video-generation settings.
- fold and wrap — outer generator-page display controls that can change how code or content is shown.
Do not confuse these with the embedded generator’s own prompt fields, model selector, aspect-ratio setting, or output buttons. Those internal controls are not standardized across public routes.
Do you need a Perchance account?
No account is required to use the indexed public image, story, and video generators. Perchance says an account is needed to create your own generators. It also states that having an account does not save or store data related to your interactions with generators, so do not treat account creation as a substitute for downloading work you want to keep.

Important limitations
Perchance does not currently present one versioned, universal AI image/video/story interface in the public pages. The routes are separately named generators, and their embedded fields can differ. There is also no current user-facing command syntax documented in the retrieved image, video, or story pages. Avoid guides that promise a particular model name, fixed aspect-ratio list, exact command format, or guaranteed video output unless that information is visible in the generator you are using.

Is Perchance AI free to use?
The indexed public image and story pages describe themselves as free, unlimited, and requiring no sign-up. Availability, limits, and controls can vary by generator and may change, so check the page you are using.

What is the official Perchance AI image generator URL?
The clearly titled public route is https://perchance.org/ai-text-to-images. The separate /ai-image-generator route currently resolves to a differently titled generator, so do not assume both pages have the same interface.
Does Perchance have one official AI video generator?
There is an /ai-video-generator route, but its embedded controls are not exposed as one fixed documented interface. The separately titled Pretty AI Video Generator is another public generator and should not be treated as proof of a universal official video product.
Why are the controls in my Perchance generator different from a tutorial?
