To reveal all of Weeping Creek Valley in Phantom Blade Zero, find the bells in three optional areas: the northern lower valley, Creek Valley Plains, and the southwest route beyond the Outpost. The northern bell is reached through a floor hole near Valley Sha-Chi Tower; Creek Valley Plains requires the Hunter’s Chain Sickle and four separate bells; and the southwest bell becomes reachable after you finish the Crimson Forest milestone and return to the Outpost. Each bell removes the surrounding fog, so the map can remain incomplete even after the main story has moved on.

What do I need to unlock the entire map?

Weeping Creek Valley is divided into three shrouded optional sections. You do not reveal them by simply advancing the central quest line; you must physically reach each area’s bell. The order below minimizes confusion and identifies the story gates, keys and traversal tool required for every section.

Area Story prerequisite Required item or traversal Bell count Route profile
Northern lower valley Accessible during early Valley exploration None beyond normal combat and the tower drop 1 Short combat detour
Creek Valley Plains Defeat The Hunt and open Crimson Forest Hunter’s Chain Sickle, Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate Key and Rusted Loong Key 4 Long route with backtracking
Southwest area beyond the Outpost Defeat Bai Chilian, The Sacrificial Serpent, then reach the Village of Lu Return to the Outpost, defeat transformed enemies and climb the left cliff 1 Post-Crimson-Forest return trip

Activating all six bells described here clears the three optional shrouded portions of Weeping Creek Valley. The wider game uses a bell-linked map structure: its world is presented as eight hand-painted Chinese ink-wash maps, with bells guiding movement between regions.

How do I reveal the northern section?

Go to the lower valley beneath Valley Sha-Chi Tower and defeat Hua, The Betrothed. Her bell reveals the northern part of Weeping Creek Valley.

  1. Fast-travel to the Valley Sha-Chi Tower, 1st Floor bell.
  2. Enter the building and pass the furnace on your right.
  3. Look for a floor opening with a faint red glow, then drop through it.
  4. Clear the minor enemies in the lower valley and turn left toward the red-flower glade.
  5. Defeat Hua, The Betrothed. The bell in her area removes the northern map fog.

This is the least demanding map detour and can be completed before the later regional progression. If you are collecting map coverage early, do this section before starting the longer Plains route.

How do I open Creek Valley Plains?

Creek Valley Plains is locked until you defeat The Hunt in Weeping Creek Valley. The fight rewards the Hunter’s Chain Sickle; obtaining it also indicates that the Crimson Forest region has opened. You then need to cross from the tower, obtain the base-camp key and activate four Plains bells.

Reach the Plains gate

  1. Defeat The Hunt and claim the Hunter’s Chain Sickle.
  2. Teleport to Valley Sha-Chi Tower Summit.
  3. Follow the rooftop route to the ledge containing the orange-glowing item.
  4. Use the Hunter’s Chain Sickle to swing across and collect the Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate Key.
  5. Teleport to the Creek Valley Plains Entrance bell.
  6. Use the key to unlock the gate into the Plains.

Where are the four Creek Valley Plains bells?

  1. Long Pillar Overlook: Follow the eastern main road and enter the house containing the bell. Open the chest there to take the Rusted Loong Key.
  2. Weeping Creek Long Pillar: From Long Pillar Overlook, enter the caves to the northeast. Use the Rusted Loong Key on the locked door to reach this bell.
  3. Crimson Manor: Return through the Plains Entrance and take the left route. Lure the ceiling Powderkeg into the brittle wall. The opening exposes an elevator; ride it to the bell. The map reveals at this point, before you obtain the later Crimson Manor key.
  4. Valley Sha-Chi Tower Base: Take the same general route, pass the Powderkeg and climb the stairs to the final bell.

The Plains sequence is the main source of backtracking. Pick up the Rusted Loong Key as soon as it appears, because it is needed for the northeastern cave door; the Powderkeg route serves two later bells.

Finish the Crimson Forest story milestone first: defeat Bai Chilian, The Sacrificial Serpent and reach the Village of Lu for the first time. Only then does the southwest route from the Outpost change state.

  1. Complete the Crimson Forest objective by defeating Bai Chilian, The Sacrificial Serpent.
  2. Enter the Village of Lu for the first time.
  3. Return to the Weeping Creek Valley Outpost.
  4. Expect the former bridge guards and nearby villagers to have become monsters; defeat them.
  5. Cross the bridge and continue to the small settlement.
  6. When you arrive, climb the cliff on the left. The bell at the top reveals the southwest section.

If the bridge is still guarded by the original NPCs, the Crimson Forest prerequisite has not been completed far enough. Advance to the Village of Lu, then revisit the Outpost rather than searching for another entrance.

Why is part of my map still covered after the story advances?

The map begins clouded, and exploration does not automatically clear every subsection. Bells reveal the surrounding area, while the three sections above are optional. As a result, the main story can move into Crimson Forest while northern, Plains or southwest portions of Weeping Creek Valley remain hidden until you return and activate their bells.

What should I check if the full map does not appear?

  • Confirm that Hua, The Betrothed was defeated in the red-flower glade.
  • Verify that The Hunt awarded the Hunter’s Chain Sickle before attempting the Summit rooftop swing.
  • Check your inventory for the Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate Key and Rusted Loong Key.
  • Count all four Plains bells, including Valley Sha-Chi Tower Base, rather than stopping after the first three.
  • For the southwest section, confirm both Bai Chilian’s defeat and your first arrival at the Village of Lu before returning to the Outpost.

The route information is dated October 23, 2026, ahead of the listed October 29, 2026 release. Names, item placement or progression flags can therefore differ in the launch build; if a bell or gate does not match these directions, check the in-game objective text and current release notes.

Can I enter Creek Valley Plains before defeating The Hunt?

No. The Hunt must be defeated first, because the Hunter’s Chain Sickle is the progression reward that opens the Crimson Forest route and enables the Summit traversal to the Plains gate key.

Where do I get the Rusted Loong Key?

It is in a chest inside the house at Long Pillar Overlook. You need it for the locked door in the caves northeast of that overlook, which leads to the Weeping Creek Long Pillar bell.

Why are the Outpost villagers attacking me?

Their transformation is part of the southwest area’s progression state. After you defeat Bai Chilian, The Sacrificial Serpent, and first reach the Village of Lu, return to the Outpost and defeat the transformed guards and villagers to open the bridge route.
