Audible does not document one switch that turns off every AI-related feature. You can turn off autoplay for recommended titles in Player settings. Maven, Audible’s AI audiobook discovery assistant, is optional to use, but Audible’s help does not describe a global setting to hide or disable it.
What you can adjust in Audible
“AI features” can mean different things in Audible: a discovery chat, previews that autoplay after a book, computer-generated narration, or a separate assistant connection. The documented controls differ:

| Feature | What it does and where it appears | Documented control |
|---|---|---|
| Maven | Conversational audiobook discovery in Search. | Using it is optional; Audible’s help does not document a global off or hide setting. Audible Help Center |
| Recommended-title autoplay | Plays related-title previews in the player when no other title is queued. | Turn off Recommended titles under Player settings > Continuous listening. Audible Help Center |
| Virtual Voice | Computer-generated narration identified in title details as “Narrator: Virtual Voice.” | The cited guide explains how to find these titles, not how to suppress them across the app. Audible Help Center |
| Other AI-related features | Audible’s AI topic index names “Ask a question while you listen” and “Connect Audible to Claude.” | The index does not establish their settings or availability details. Audible Help Center |
Turn off recommended-title autoplay
This setting controls related-title previews—not Maven or every AI-related feature.
- Open the Audible app and tap Profile.
- Tap the Settings gear, then Player.
- Open Continuous listening.
- Switch Recommended titles off.
Audible says these previews play only when no other title is queued. The setting is documented in Audible’s autoplay help.

Use Maven only when you want to
To open Maven, go to Search in the app and select Ask Maven. It can suggest audiobooks through conversation, refine recommendations with follow-up prompts, provide title overviews, and compare titles. Audible says chats can be resumed within 24 hours.
Audible Help Center’s US English article, Discover new audiobooks with Maven (September 3, 2026), calls it a built-in feature that is “always accessible,” while saying its use is entirely optional. In the documented instructions, Audible does not provide a switch to remove Maven from Search or disable it globally. Choosing not to open it is different from turning it off. See Audible’s Maven help.

Identify Virtual Voice narration
Virtual Voice is a narration type, not a Maven setting. Audible describes it as computer-generated rather than live narration. Its guide says Virtual Voice titles display Narrator: Virtual Voice; you can also search for virtual voice to find them. The guide explains identification and discovery but does not document an app-wide setting to hide or suppress these titles. Turning off recommended-title autoplay does not change narration in titles already in Audible’s catalog. See Audible’s Virtual Voice help (September 15, 2025).
Where to find other player preferences
Audible’s player settings guide covers iOS and Android. You can open Player settings from Profile > Settings > Player, or from the player’s three-dot More menu. Options include player customization, progress display, skip intervals, mini-player time display, timer shake behavior, screen auto-lock, Automatic Car Mode, syncing listening position, and Continuous listening. These are player preferences, not a general collection of AI switches. See Audible’s player settings guide.
