On an iPhone or iPad, stop moving album covers by opening Settings > Apps > Music > Animated Art and choosing the option that disables animation. The wording of the disabled choice can differ between operating-system versions, so select the control’s off or disabled state. This setting affects animated album artwork only; it does not turn off AutoMix or Crossfade. What does Animated Art control in Apple Music?
Animated Art controls motion inside supported album cover artwork while you browse or play music. Turning it off changes the artwork presentation; it does not remove songs, alter playlists, change audio quality, or disable the player’s song-transition features.
The setting is easy to confuse with AutoMix and Crossfade. Those options govern how one song transitions into the next. Animated Art governs movement in the cover image. They are separate controls, so changing a transition setting will not stop an animated cover from moving.
How do I stop moving album covers on an iPhone?

- Tap Music.
- Tap Animated Art.

After the selection is made, return to Apple Music and open an album that previously displayed motion. The cover should remain static where Apple Music supports the preference. What if I cannot find Animated Art on my iPhone?

Apple’s iPad guidance describes this as an on-or-off choice, but the visible label can change with the operating-system version. Read the choices rather than assuming that a particular label, position, or switch color is universal. Once changed, the preference applies when Apple Music displays artwork on that iPad; it does not change the artwork files in your library.

Is there an Animated Art switch on a Mac?
Apple’s currently cited Mac documentation does not list an Animated Art switch. In Music > Settings, Apple documents other areas, including Advanced options for automatically updating artwork for imported songs and Playback options such as AutoMix and Crossfade. Those documented pages do not confirm a control for animated cover art.
For that reason, do not tell Mac users to follow the iPhone or iPad path on macOS. macOS has a different settings structure, and the absence of an Animated Art entry in Apple’s Mac documentation means its availability should be treated as unconfirmed rather than assumed. If a particular Mac version exposes a new artwork preference, verify it against that version’s own Music help or release documentation.

Can I turn off animated artwork in Apple Music for Android?
A separately documented Animated Art control was not identified for the Android Apple Music client. Android settings and labels can also vary by app version and region, so an iPhone path should not be presented as an Android instruction.
If you use Android, inspect the current Apple Music app settings for an explicitly named artwork or animation preference. Only a control that clearly addresses animated artwork should be treated as equivalent. Can I disable animated album covers in Apple Music for Windows?

Check the version-specific Music settings available in your Windows installation. Why does changing Song Transitions not stop the artwork?
