GT7’s two force-feedback controls—Force Feedback Max. Torque and Force Feedback Sensitivity—are best tuned to your wheel and comfort, not copied from a universal preset. Start with moderate values, test one change at a time, and lower them if the wheel vibrates violently or drowns out useful steering detail.
What the two force-feedback settings do
Find both controls at Controller Settings > Steering Force Feedback. Polyphony Digital’s [GT7 Update Details (1.15)] warns that very high values for either setting can cause violent vibration on listed wheels.
- Force Feedback Max. Torque: Adjust this to change the overall strength of the force you feel through the wheel.
- Force Feedback Sensitivity: Adjust this separately to find how readily changes in steering force come through. If the wheel feels abrupt, test a lower value.
These are practical tuning interpretations, not manufacturer-defined technical specifications. The game’s manual describes force feedback more generally as communicating road-surface information through the tires to the driver: GT7 manual: Controllers.
A safe tuning process
- Check recognition and updates. Make sure GT7 recognizes the wheel, and check for current game updates and wheel firmware. Polyphony Digital’s late-2025 update 1.65 search result reports simulated friction on select force-feedback wheels, FullForce effects for the Fanatec GT DD Extreme, and a reminder to update wheel firmware: GT7 Update Details (1.65). The published result does not establish broader model compatibility details.
- Record your current values. Open Controller Settings > Steering Force Feedback and note both numbers so you can restore them.
- Choose a familiar test. Use a car and track you know, and repeat the same corner or road section when comparing settings.
- Begin moderately and change one control at a time. There is no authoritative universal numeric baseline. Moderate starting values are a cautious method, not an official preset.
- Adjust overall force first. If the wheel feels too strong or too weak overall, change Max. Torque, then repeat the same test.
- Adjust sensitivity independently. Once overall force is comfortable, test Sensitivity to find a response that communicates changes without feeling abrupt.
- Stop if vibration becomes violent or uncomfortable. Lower one or both values and retest. Polyphony Digital’s update 1.15 notice states: “If this happens, please set a lower value.”
Why a setting that worked before may feel different
Wheel feedback is not identical across hardware, and GT7’s handling of specific wheels has changed over time. In May 2022, Polyphony Digital reported excessive vibration with certain wheel-and-car combinations and said force-feedback intensity and torque had been temporarily reduced on the Thrustmaster T-GT, Fanatec Podium, and Fanatec GT DD Pro: GT7 force-feedback notice (May 2022). That is a dated adjustment, not proof of how those wheels behave in the current build.

Polyphony Digital also documented force-feedback adjustments for those models in update 1.15. If the feel changes after a game update, check your values and firmware before assuming the wheel is faulty. For newer model-specific effects, consult the current patch notes and the wheel maker’s firmware information.
G923-specific checks
For the Logitech G923, Polyphony Digital says GT7 uses TRUEFORCE for effects representing engine and wheel-slip vibrations. That feature description applies to the G923 and should not be assumed for other wheels. The compatibility notice also directs G923 users to Options > Controllers > Steering Controller Settings to check wheel inputs and calibrate pedal sensitivity: GT7 compatibility notice: Logitech G923.

Choosing advice for your wheel
Searches for “best settings for Logitech G923” or “force feedback and sensitivity settings” may surface specific number pairs. Treat those as individual preferences, not official recommendations: settings can differ by wheel, and no authoritative universal preset has been established. Compare advice only when it identifies the wheel and the game context, then test cautiously rather than assuming the numbers will transfer.
GT7’s official notices document several compatible wheel models and model-specific adjustments, but they do not establish which wheel is best. If you are deciding whether to buy hardware, verify PlayStation/GT7 compatibility, supported effects, available force and adjustability, firmware requirements, and price against current manufacturer and retailer information. If your existing wheel works with GT7, tuning it does not require buying another one.
