Set up a new Galaxy Book6 by completing Windows’ first-run prompts, installing Windows updates, then checking Samsung’s support page and Samsung Update for drivers and apps available for your exact model and region. You can pair a Galaxy phone with Phone Link afterward, but that step is optional.
Before you begin: confirm your Galaxy Book6 model

Use the support page for your specific regional model and consult its manual: bundled software, available downloads, and setup screens are not guaranteed to be identical across configurations. Complete Windows setup first
Turn on the laptop and follow the Windows prompts to choose your region and keyboard layout, connect to a network, add an account, and review privacy settings. The exact prompts can vary, so use the manual for your model if a screen or option differs from these general steps.
Install Windows updates
Open Windows Update in Settings, check for available updates, and install the required updates. Restart if Windows asks you to. Samsung recommends updating Windows before setting up Phone Link with a phone. Samsung’s Phone Link setup guidance

Check Samsung’s support page
Open Samsung’s support page for the exact model and region, and review its downloads and manual. Regional pages and model variants can list different software, so do not assume another Galaxy Book6 owner will see the same apps.
Use Samsung Update
Samsung’s Windows 11 support guidance points to Samsung Update for installing device drivers and Samsung apps after Windows is installed. Open or install Samsung Update using Samsung’s model-specific support guidance, then check for available drivers and apps. Choose the apps you need
Review the apps offered for your model and install the ones you want; you do not need to install every available app. Check Samsung’s support page and manual for what is available rather than relying on a generic Galaxy Book app list.

Phone Link can connect a compatible Android phone to Windows, but it is not required to finish laptop setup. Samsung’s instructions require the PC to be up to date and have a Microsoft account added. Pairing also involves signing in and granting the requested phone permissions; the screens and settings can vary by device and software version.

- On the PC, open Phone Link and choose Android.
- Follow the QR-code or code prompts, sign in as requested, and grant the permissions you want to use.
Samsung’s Phone Link instructions describe the pairing flow. Features available after pairing may depend on the phone model and software version; do not assume every Phone Link feature is available on every Galaxy phone.
