To set up Mary on the HMD 2660 Flip Senior Edition, scan the QR code on the card included in the box—or visit the activation website printed on that card—and follow the activation instructions. Then open the Mary icon or select Call Mary from the phone’s main menu and press the call button. HMD says you do not need to download an app or remember a separate Mary password.

- Turn on the HMD 2660 Flip Senior Edition.
- Locate the QR-code card included in the box.
- Scan the QR code or open the printed activation website. Complete the instructions shown there.
- Return to the phone’s main menu. Select the Mary icon or choose Call Mary.
- Press the call/green button. Mary should greet you and begin the conversation.
If you finish activation but have not started a conversation, return to the main menu and select Mary or Call Mary, then press the call button. Activation and starting a conversation are separate actions.
Do you need an app, account, or password?
No separate Mary app or Mary password is required according to HMD. Mary is built into the HMD 2660 Flip Senior Edition, and the QR-card activation is followed by opening Mary from the phone menu.
HMD’s FAQ says that after activation the phone is ready to use, with no apps to download or passwords to remember. What can Mary do, and what should you expect from a conversation?
Mary is described as an AI companion for conversation, not as a medical, emergency, or professional-care service. HMD and inTouch describe features intended for companionship and discussion.
- Answer questions and discuss subjects such as history and nature.
- Tell stories and play memory games.
- Remember previous interactions.
- Speak slowly and allow extra time for a response.
These are the capabilities described by the companies; they are not a guarantee that every answer will be correct or that Mary can meet a particular care need. Do not rely on Mary for urgent help, diagnosis, treatment, or professional advice.
How does Mary handle privacy?
