To get notified when Bitcoin reaches a price you choose, set an alert in an exchange or charting app, select the BTC market and quote currency you want to track, then enable notifications in both the app and your device settings. A price alert tells you when its condition is met; it does not place a trade.
Before you create a Bitcoin price alert
Choose the service and market that match the price you care about. Bitcoin may be quoted in different currencies or traded on different markets, so an alert for one BTC pair may not match another. Select the intended BTC pair before entering a threshold.
- Choose a BTC market and quote currency, such as the pair shown in the service you plan to use.
- Set a price and direction: for example, notify me when BTC rises above a target or falls below it. Some platforms also support percentage-change conditions.
- Choose where the alert should appear, such as a push notification, browser notification, in-app message, or email, where available.
- Check the alert’s status and expiration after saving it. Some alerts stop working after a validity period.
To answer “Can I be notified when Bitcoin falls below a price?”: yes, if your chosen service offers a below-price condition for the BTC market you selected. Confirm the direction before saving.
Set an alert in a service you already use
Controls and availability can vary by app version, account, and region. If a label differs, use the equivalent alert control shown in your current app.

Coinbase
- Search for and select the cryptocurrency in the Coinbase mobile app.
- Add it to your watchlist using the star, if it is not already watchlisted.
- Tap the bell-plus icon, choose Add Alert, select whether BTC must move above or below your target, and save.
- Open Notification Settings and choose the delivery methods available to you, such as push, in-app, or email. For push alerts, also allow notifications for Coinbase in your phone settings.
Coinbase says only watchlisted assets send price alerts. Its help page also makes clear that an alert is informational and does not place an order: Coinbase: What are price alerts?
Binance
- In the Binance app, switch to Pro mode, then open Markets and select the trading pair you want to monitor.
- Open the pair’s alert control, choose an alert type, enter the target or percentage condition, set the frequency, then select Create Alert.
- Allow Binance notifications in your phone settings. If using desktop alerts, allow the relevant browser or system notifications.
- Check that the alert is still active before relying on it: Binance documents a 90-day validity period for each alert.
Binance lists conditions including reaching a price, rising above or dropping to a price, and percentage changes. Its support page, updated January 6, 2026, states a maximum of 10 alerts per trading pair and 50 price alerts overall. These are Binance feature limits, not market statistics. Kraken
On Kraken web, add the Alerts widget to your layout and configure the alert for the relevant market. To receive browser notifications, enable them in your browser. In the mobile app, enable Kraken Pro push notifications both in your device settings and within the app.
Kraken notes that some futures-alert behavior differs between web and mobile: a futures alert set on web may notify on mobile without linking to the correct markets page, unlike a spot alert. Its instructions were last updated January 20, 2026. Details: Kraken Support: Price alerts.

TradingView
- Open the BTC chart and use its alert controls to set the price condition and expiration.
- To get phone notifications, install the current TradingView app, allow its push notifications in your device settings, and check Notify in App when creating the alert.
- For desktop pop-ups, allow browser or system notifications as applicable.
- After saving, check the alert manager to confirm the alert is active and review its expiration timer.

Check delivery and expiration
If an alert is saved but never reaches you, check both ends of the notification path: the service’s alert and delivery settings, and the phone, browser, or computer’s notification permissions. On services that require a watchlist or a particular app mode, confirm that prerequisite too.

- Phone: Allow notifications for the relevant app in device settings and enable the desired alert method inside the app.
- Browser or desktop: Allow browser and system notifications where required, and make sure the service is configured to use them.
- Alert status: Check the service’s alert list or manager for an active status and an unexpired validity period.
- Market selection: Verify that the alert uses the intended BTC pair and quote currency.
A price alert is not an automatic trade
A notification can prompt you to check the market, but it does not buy or sell Bitcoin. Coinbase explicitly says price alerts “do not place an order for that asset.” Even when you receive an alert, it does not guarantee that you can trade at the threshold price; an alert is not an order or an execution-price guarantee.
