3. Run it daily using an external scheduler
Choose a scheduler on the same machine or hosted runtime where the script and browser are installed. For example, on a Unix-like system, a cron entry can run the script each day at 09:00 in the machine’s configured time zone:

Cron uses the host’s time-zone configuration; confirm it if “daily” must correspond to a particular local time. On Windows or a managed hosting platform, use its equivalent daily task scheduler. Playwright’s cited page API does not schedule recurring runs.

4. Keep comparisons meaningful
- Use a stable browser version, operating system, viewport, and capture settings. Playwright’s visual-comparison guidance notes that rendering can vary across operating systems, browser versions, settings, hardware, and headless mode. Visual comparisons guidance
- Keep files with timestamps and set a retention policy so the screenshot directory does not grow indefinitely.
- If the page fills in its price after initial navigation, wait for a price element or a suitable delay before taking the screenshot. Inspect the captured file to confirm that the content is present.
- For organized comparisons, capture the same page area and viewport each time. A full-page capture can include changing banners or recommendations that are unrelated to price.
Validate the Indian price, not just the image change
A site can serve different content depending on network location, delivery destination, login state, or selected product variant. Visualping’s help overview says its default crawler uses a United States (California) IP address and that other checking locations are available. - Check that the screenshot shows the intended product and variant, not a similar listing or a changed selection.
- Confirm the currency and the displayed amount. Do not infer an Indian price merely from the retailer’s name or the page URL.
- Check delivery location, availability, and whether the page is logged in, if those factors affect the offer you want to track.
- Review the monitored price area itself. A screenshot change could instead be caused by an advertisement, banner, layout shift, or stock message.
- Respect the retailer’s access rules. Do not attempt to bypass blocks or access controls.
The available documentation does not establish universal compatibility with Indian retailers, extraction accuracy, or that a location setting changes a particular retailer’s displayed price. Treat alerts as prompts for review unless you have independently confirmed the value.
