To save a website without losing its right edge, open the browser’s Print dialog, choose Save as PDF (or Save to PDF), inspect the preview, then adjust scale, orientation, paper size, margins, and background graphics before saving. Use Landscape for wide tables or code, reduce the scale when the right edge is clipped, and reopen the finished PDF to check every page. - Let the page finish loading. Wait for images, tables, fonts, and any content that appears after scrolling.
- Open File > Print, or press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac.
- Set the destination to Save as PDF.
- Review every preview page. Look specifically at the far-right edge, wide tables, code blocks, images, and the bottom of the last page.
- For a clipped right edge, lower Scale until the complete width is inside the preview. Choose Landscape for wide content.
- Set a paper size that suits the document and reduce large margins if they consume useful width.
- Enable Background graphics when color fills, background images, or shaded table cells carry meaning.
- Click Print, choose a filename and location, then open the saved PDF and inspect it again.

How do I save a webpage as a PDF in Firefox?
Firefox exposes scale, paper, margin, header/footer, and background controls directly in its print preview.
- Open the page and wait until its dynamic content has loaded.
- Open the print command from the browser menu.
- In the destination drop-down, select Save to PDF.
- Use Orientation to switch to Landscape for wide layouts.
- Open More settings and adjust paper size, scale, pages per sheet, margins, headers and footers, and background printing.
- Check the preview from the first page through the last. Lower scale or choose a larger paper size if any horizontal content is outside the printable area.

Should I use Firefox Simplified format?

Can Edge remove article clutter before printing?

How do I save a website as a PDF on an iPhone?
Safari on iPhone uses the Share sheet and Markup workflow. The controls vary slightly by iOS release, so always inspect the saved file.
- Open the webpage in Safari and wait for all important content to appear.
- Tap Share, then tap Markup.
- Use the annotation tools if you want to mark the page.
- Tap More, then tap Done.
- Choose Save File To, select a folder in Files, name the PDF, and save it.

If the current iOS share sheet presents a print option instead, use that flow and inspect its preview. iPhone generally offers fewer desktop-style controls for scale, margins, and paper size, so a page designed for a wide desktop viewport may need to be simplified or saved from a computer.
Why is my PDF missing the right side of the page?

Fit the content to the printable width
Use Edge’s Fit to printable area, or reduce the custom scale in Chrome or Firefox until the entire width appears in preview. Make the change while watching the widest table, image, or code block rather than an average paragraph.
Switch to Landscape
Landscape gives wide content more horizontal room. It is usually preferable to an extreme scale reduction when readability matters, especially for spreadsheets, comparison tables, diagrams, and source code.
Reduce margins or choose a larger paper size
Margins consume printable width. Select the smallest practical margins and a paper size that fits the intended use. A larger paper size can preserve legibility when a page contains genuinely wide content.
Keep backgrounds when they carry meaning
Browsers often omit background colors and images by default. Enable Background graphics in Chrome or Edge, or the equivalent background option in Firefox, when color coding, fills, or background images are part of the information.

Firefox Simplified format and Edge Immersive Reader can remove navigation and advertising around an article. They can also remove backgrounds, controls, or interactive elements. Compare the preview with the original page before accepting the cleaner version.
Deal with horizontally scrollable blocks
A code sample, table, dashboard panel, or embedded frame may show only a scrollable window in the browser. A normal print operation can preserve only the visible width. If the block is essential, use a conversion tool that can expand scrollable content or scale wide contents to the page, then verify the resulting pages for readability.
How can I convert a difficult page with wide tables or scrollable panels?
Adobe Acrobat’s web-page conversion settings include controls named Scale Wide Contents to fit page and Expand Scrollable Blocks. They are designed for pages whose important content is wider than the normal paper area. Acrobat also provides settings for page size, orientation, margins, retained backgrounds, bookmarks, and tagged output.

- Use the web-page conversion command available in your Acrobat edition.
- Set the target page size, orientation, and margins.
- Enable Scale Wide Contents to fit page for oversized tables or panels.
- Enable Expand Scrollable Blocks when a scrollable region contains information that must appear in full.
- Choose whether to retain backgrounds, create bookmarks, and include tags according to the document’s purpose.
- Inspect the generated PDF at 100% zoom and at a comfortable reading zoom. Expanding a block can create additional pages, so check the page order and the last page.
This route is useful for complex layouts, but it requires optional software and features that depend on the Acrobat edition. For a one-off article, browser print is usually faster and free.

What should I check after saving the PDF?
A successful download does not prove that the rendering is complete. Use this checklist before sharing or archiving the file:
- Open the PDF in a viewer rather than trusting the download notification.
- Check the widest table, image, diagram, and code block for missing right-side content.
- Check the bottom of every page and the final page for truncated text or images.
- Confirm that important background colors and images survived.
- Click several hyperlinks if the PDF will be used interactively.
- Look for blank pages created by a forced page break or an oversized element.
- Confirm that headers, footers, and page numbers are appropriate for the audience.
- For an article cleaned with Simplified format or Immersive Reader, compare headings and images with the original.
How do I fix common website-to-PDF failures?
The right edge is clipped
Lower scale or select Fit to printable area, switch to Landscape, reduce margins, and choose a larger paper size. Recheck the widest element in preview after each change.
A table is cut into an unreadable strip
Try Landscape first, then a modest scale reduction. If the table is inside a horizontal scroll region, use a conversion workflow that expands scrollable blocks or export the table separately before combining documents.
Images or colored sections are missing
Enable Background graphics or background printing. Some images are loaded lazily, so return to the webpage, scroll through the content to trigger loading, wait for completion, and print again.

Inspect the preview for an oversized fixed-width element, a forced page break, or a large margin setting. Reduce scale, change orientation, or remove the offending element in a reader mode, then preview again.
The page is still changing while I print
Wait for network requests, fonts, ads, and client-side components to finish. A page that is printed too early can contain empty image areas or incomplete text even when its initial layout looked correct.

Headers and footers cover content
Open the browser’s more-settings area and disable or reposition headers and footers. Recheck the top and bottom margins because printable space is shared with those items.
Interactive controls do not appear
Print output captures a static rendering. Menus, accordions, video players, and application controls may not be represented. Expand the information you need before printing, or save a separate screenshot or recording when interaction itself is the requirement.
What about performance, reliability, privacy, and accessibility?
Performance
Large pages, high-resolution images, and expanded scrollable regions take longer to render and can produce larger files. Waiting for lazy-loaded content and using the smallest readable scale avoids both incomplete captures and unnecessarily huge PDFs.
Reliability
Previewing and reopening the file catches failures that a successful save dialog cannot. For repeatable work, keep the same paper size, orientation, margins, and scale, and record those settings with the file so another person can reproduce the result.
Privacy
Browser-native printing keeps the page in your browser instead of uploading it to a conversion service. This is useful for confidential pages, provided your browser profile, extensions, and local storage are trusted. A third-party converter may be convenient, but review its data-handling terms before sending private content.
Accessibility
Visual completeness and accessible structure are different goals. A PDF can show every pixel yet lack tags, bookmarks, or a logical reading order. When accessibility matters, use conversion settings that support tags and bookmarks, then test the finished document with a screen reader or accessibility checker.

Will saving a webpage as a PDF preserve clickable links?
Most browser print-to-PDF workflows retain standard hyperlinks, but links created only by JavaScript or embedded application controls may not. Open the saved file and test representative links before distributing it.
How can I save a page that requires a login?
Print it while signed in to the browser profile that can view the page, and wait until protected content finishes loading. If your organization blocks printing or the page is rendered inside a restricted frame, ask the site owner for an export or PDF permission instead of trying to bypass the restriction.
Why is the PDF file much larger than the webpage?
Print output may embed high-resolution images, fonts, and full-page backgrounds. Reduce image resolution where your conversion tool allows it, avoid unnecessary background graphics, and use a readable rather than extreme scale.
Where does Safari save the PDF on an iPhone?
