Print an entire web page on a computer
The desktop workflow is the same in Chrome on Windows, Linux, and macOS, although the keyboard shortcut differs by platform.
- Open the web page in Chrome and wait for its content to finish loading.
- Open print preview with one of these methods:
- Windows or Linux: choose File > Print or press Ctrl+P.
- Mac: choose File > Print or press Command+P.
- In the print dialog, select the destination (a physical printer or an available PDF destination) and adjust the settings offered by your installation.
- Use the thumbnail strip or preview pages to check that the headings, images, tables, and final sections you need are present.
- Choose Print and complete any printer-specific confirmation. If you selected a PDF destination, follow the dialog’s save prompt.
Print preview is the authoritative view of what Chrome is about to send. A page that looks complete while scrolling can still produce fewer pages because the site supplies a print-specific layout or omits navigation and interactive controls.
Print a web page on Android
- Open the page in Chrome for Android.
- Tap More (the three-dot menu), then Share > Print.
- Select a printer, or choose Save as PDF when that destination is available.
- For a PDF, select where to store the file and tap Print.
This documented route is specific to Android. The available destinations and labels can vary with the phone, Android version, and installed print services.

Make sure “entire page” content is actually loaded
Chrome prints the document it receives from the page; it does not promise to trigger every modern web interaction before printing. Long pages commonly use lazy loading, where images or article sections are inserted only after you scroll near them. Other sites replace the visible page with a shorter print stylesheet, hide menus, or render a chart inside an interactive canvas.
Before opening print preview
- Let the page finish its initial loading indicators.
- Scroll from top to bottom once if images or sections appear as you approach them.
- Expand accordions, tabs, “read more” controls, and comments that must be included.
- Dismiss consent banners or sign-in prompts that cover content, when the site allows it.
- Use the page’s own Print or Export control when one exists; it may create a cleaner, more complete document than the browser command.
Verify the preview page by page
Do not rely on the number of pages alone. Check the first, middle, and final thumbnails, then scan for blank pages, clipped columns, missing images, and headings separated from their text. If a required section is absent, return to the page and make it visible before printing, or use the site’s export feature.

Choose between paper, PDF, and saving the page

Paper is useful when someone must read or mark up a physical copy. A PDF is usually easier to email or archive, while Save page as preserves a page for later browser reference but can depend on the saved resource files and the site’s scripting.
When Chrome cannot print all visible content
Lazy-loaded images are missing
Scroll through the page before printing so the browser has a chance to request deferred images. Reopen preview and inspect the pages. If images still do not appear, the site may intentionally omit them from its print layout.

A menu, banner, or chat widget takes over the page
Close the overlay before printing. Some overlays are controlled by the site and cannot be removed through Chrome’s print settings; in that case, look for the site’s print view or export command.
A chart or interactive control is blank
Interactive controls are not equivalent to static text in a print document. Record the values in a static table, expand a details view, or use an export supplied by the site. Confirm the result in preview instead of assuming the screen representation will be reproduced.

The page is shorter than expected
Many sites use print CSS to remove navigation, related links, advertisements, and other screen-only elements. That can be correct behavior rather than a Chrome failure. Compare the preview with the content you actually need and use the site’s own print version if it provides one.
Fix common printing problems

How to print a page reliably for records or automation
For a one-off document, Chrome’s preview is the simplest option. For repeatable captures—such as archiving product pages, generating reports, or collecting pages for an application—manual browser setup introduces variable loading, popups, cookie dialogs, and printer configuration. Frequently Asked Questions
Does Chrome have a universal “print entire page” switch?
No. Chrome opens print preview and prints the document supplied by the site. The preview determines which content will be included; there is no universal toggle that forces every interactive or dynamically loaded element into the output.
Can I print a web page directly to PDF on Android?
Yes, when the destination is available: open More > Share > Print, choose Save as PDF, select a storage location, and tap Print.
Why does a saved HTML page differ from a PDF?
Save page as stores a browser-readable web-page copy through More > More tools > Save page as. It is a separate workflow from printing and can rely on saved resource files and scripts, whereas a PDF is a fixed print rendering.
