For the easiest first-time setup, open Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app on your Android phone, tap Start, put both earbuds in the case, close it for 5–6 seconds, then open it and follow the pairing prompt. If the app flow is unavailable, put the Buds into pairing mode and connect from the phone’s Bluetooth settings.
Pair Galaxy Buds with Galaxy Wearable
- Charge the earbuds and make sure Bluetooth is available on your Android phone. Install and open Galaxy Wearable if it is not already set up, then tap Start.
- Put both earbuds in their charging case and close the lid for 5–6 seconds.
- Open the lid. When the phone detects the earbuds, select them and follow the prompts. Tap OK if a pairing confirmation appears.
Samsung says earbuds already paired with the phone can reconnect when the case is opened. If the app does not detect them, use the model-specific pairing steps below. Samsung Support: How to connect your Samsung Galaxy earbuds
Pair without Galaxy Wearable
Galaxy Wearable is Samsung’s Android setup route, but the app is not required for basic Bluetooth audio pairing. Samsung says its earbuds can be used like ordinary Bluetooth headphones with devices that do not support the app. App features and compatibility vary by Buds model and phone.
- Put the earbuds into pairing mode using the instructions for your model below.
- Open the phone’s Bluetooth settings and select the Galaxy Buds. On a Samsung Galaxy phone, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth; tap the Buds and confirm Pair. Other Android phones may use different labels.

If the earbuds have been paired with another device, opening the case may not make them discoverable. Samsung’s pairing-mode action depends on the model generation:

Galaxy Buds, Buds+, Buds Live, and Buds Pro
Wear both earbuds and hold both touchpads at the same time for more than three seconds. Wait for the pairing sound, then select the Buds in your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
Galaxy Buds2 and Buds2 Pro
Place both earbuds in the open case and press and hold both earbuds at the same time for more than three seconds. The case indicator flashes when pairing mode is active.

Galaxy Buds3 and Buds3 Pro
Put the earbuds in the case and open it. Hold the pairing/Connect button on the bottom of the case for more than three seconds. The indicator flashes blue, red, and green in pairing mode.
Once the pairing signal appears, select the earbuds in Bluetooth settings and confirm. Samsung notes that menus and screen layouts can vary by phone model and software version. Samsung Support: Bluetooth device will not connect to Samsung Galaxy device

Fix Galaxy Buds that will not connect
Work through these checks in order, starting with the earbuds and their pairing state before changing phone settings:
- Check charge and contacts. Charge the earbuds and make sure their charging contacts are clean; low charge can interrupt connection steps.
- Reduce interference. Move the phone and earbuds away from Wi-Fi routers and running microwaves, and keep a clear path between them.
- Restart and sync the earbuds. Put them in the case and close it until the indicator light goes out. Samsung also describes holding both touchpads for seven seconds or more while the earbuds are in the case as a sync troubleshooting step. This is not the general Bluetooth-pairing action for every model.
- Unpair, then pair again. On a Galaxy phone, open Settings > Connections > Bluetooth, tap the settings or gear control beside the earbuds, and select Unpair. Put the earbuds back into pairing mode and connect again.
- Restart the phone and check for software updates. Samsung recommends restarting the connected device and checking that its software is up to date.
- Reset network connections only if needed. A Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings reset on a Galaxy device clears saved Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and other connection information. You may need to reconnect devices and networks afterward.
- Contact Samsung service if one or both earbuds still cannot connect after these steps.
