Yes—you can build a League of Legends playlist on either Spotify or YouTube Music in a few minutes. Start with official Riot Games Music releases, the League of Legends hub and playlists on Spotify, or official Riot uploads that you find through YouTube Music search. Create a new playlist, add tracks by Riot, champion themes, virtual artists, Worlds anthems or Sessions projects, then arrange the order for the mood you want.

Catalogs, regional rights and app labels change, so no service can be assumed to contain every League track everywhere. Also keep listening separate from reuse: playing a song privately is not the same as receiving permission to put it in a livestream or video. Riot designates only certain music as creator-safe under its published guidelines.

What official League of Legends music can you put in a playlist?

League of Legends music is a broad catalog rather than one soundtrack. Riot Games has released champion themes, cinematic songs, virtual-band albums, esports anthems, orchestral pieces and the Sessions background-music collection. Riot said in its 2019 music retrospective that more than 200 songs were available across streaming platforms at that time. That is a historical figure, not a current catalog count.

Spotify and Riot announced an Official League of Legends audio hub and curated playlists in 2020. Riot also described its music as available on several streaming services, including Spotify and YouTube, in the 10-year retrospective. Those announcements make the services useful starting points, but they do not guarantee that every release is still listed, that every upload is official, or that a track is licensed in every country.

Useful categories for a first playlist

  • Champion and region themes: instrumental or character-focused tracks tied to a champion, region or story arc.
  • Virtual artists and collaborations: vocal songs performed by League’s fictional groups and their guest artists.
  • Worlds and esports anthems: high-energy songs associated with the World Championship and other competitive events.
  • Sessions: relaxed releases developed with musicians for background listening and content use under Riot’s guidelines.
  • Mixed favorites: a personal sequence that combines cinematic, vocal and instrumental tracks.

Use the official artist or label information shown by the service when choosing between duplicate results. Fan-made edits, nightcore versions and unofficial uploads may have similar titles but are not the same as an official release.

Should you use Spotify or YouTube Music?

Choose the service that fits your existing devices and listening habits. Spotify has a specifically announced League of Legends hub and curated playlists, while YouTube Music is convenient when the official upload you want is easiest to locate through YouTube’s music catalog. Neither source establishes a current, worldwide catalog advantage.

Decision point Spotify YouTube Music
Finding League collections Look for the Official League of Legends hub and Riot Games Music artist or release pages. Search for official Riot Games Music uploads, albums and individual track names.
Creating and editing Use the current playlist-creation control, then add tracks from search or a release page and reorder them. Use the current save-to-playlist or create-playlist control, then add tracks from search, an album or an official video.
Sharing Playlist privacy and sharing options are controlled in the playlist settings available in your app. Playlist visibility and sharing options are controlled in the playlist settings available in your app.
Catalog certainty Riot’s partnership confirms an official hub, but regional availability and current completeness can change. Riot’s historical announcement supports searching YouTube, but current YouTube Music availability varies by territory and release.
Best fit Listeners who already use Spotify or want Riot’s organized hub and playlists. Listeners who already use YouTube Music or prefer finding music through official video and album uploads.

If you use both services, make one the master list and copy only the tracks you can verify on the other. This avoids treating a missing regional track as evidence that Riot never released it.

How do I make a League of Legends playlist on Spotify?

The exact button text can differ between Spotify’s mobile, desktop and web apps, but the workflow is consistent: create a playlist, search for official tracks, add them, and arrange the sequence.

  1. Open Spotify and sign in. Use the app or web player where you normally listen. A free account can create playlists; paid features such as offline listening depend on your Spotify plan.
  2. Start a new playlist. Open the library area, choose the control for creating a playlist, and give it a specific name such as LoL Worlds Energy, Runeterra Instrumentals or League Favorites 2026. Add a description if you want to record the theme or the date you last checked it.
  3. Check the official League hub. Search Spotify for League of Legends and look for the Official League of Legends hub or playlists associated with Riot Games Music. Open an album or playlist rather than adding the first result with a similar title.
  4. Add tracks. For each song, open its more-options menu and choose the command that adds it to your playlist. You can also open a release, select several tracks where the app permits multi-selection, and add them together.
  5. Search by more than one term. If a champion theme is hard to find, try the champion’s name plus theme, the release title, the virtual artist name, or Riot Games Music. Compare the artist, album art and release details before adding a result.
  6. Open your playlist and reorder it. Put the opening track in the mood you want, group related songs, or alternate vocal and instrumental pieces. Drag tracks in the desktop or web interface when available; on mobile, use the playlist’s edit or reorder control.
  7. Set visibility and share it. Choose private, public or collaborative settings according to the current options in your app. A shared playlist is a list of listening links, not a license to reuse the recordings in a video.

A practical Spotify sequence

For a cinematic set, begin with a short atmospheric piece, follow with two or three champion or region themes, place a vocal collaboration in the middle, and finish with an anthem. For background work, put Sessions tracks first and keep high-energy esports songs in a separate playlist so shuffle does not change the intended atmosphere.

How do I make the playlist on YouTube Music?

YouTube Music uses different menus from Spotify, but the essential process is the same. Because YouTube Music can surface both music releases and video uploads, verify that the item is an official Riot Games Music release before adding it.

  1. Open YouTube Music and sign in. Use the account in which you want the playlist saved. The available playback and download options depend on your plan and location.
  2. Create a playlist from your library. Open the library or playlist area, choose the current create-playlist command, and enter a descriptive title. Include a year only when it helps you distinguish a seasonal or event list.
  3. Search for the source. Try Riot Games Music, the exact track title, the champion or virtual artist, and the release name. Prefer an official artist, album or channel result over a re-upload with altered audio.
  4. Add the track. From the track, album or video menu, choose the current option for saving or adding the item to a playlist, then select the League playlist you created. If the app offers both a personal library save and a playlist add, choose the playlist option as well.
  5. Review duplicates. You may see a music-video version, an audio-only version and a live or lyric upload. Keep the version that matches your listening goal and remove duplicates so the playlist length remains predictable.
  6. Reorder and share. Open the playlist editor, move tracks into the desired order and set its visibility before copying the share link. Menu names and placement can change with app updates, so follow the current labels shown on your device.

YouTube Music may expose a track that is not available in Spotify, or the reverse, because licensing differs by territory and service. Keep a note of the release title and artist if you plan to recreate the list on the other platform.

How should I organize a League playlist by mood?

A theme makes a long catalog easier to maintain than one undifferentiated list. Pick one organizing rule, state it in the playlist description, and use separate playlists when the listening purposes conflict.

Playlist idea What to include Good ordering approach
Champion stories Champion themes, region motifs and cinematic instrumentals. Arrange by region, champion or narrative arc; keep similar instrumentation together.
Virtual stages Vocal tracks by League’s fictional groups and collaborations. Open with a recognizable single, then alternate tempos so the middle does not become monotonous.
Worlds intensity Worlds anthems and other esports releases. Use a gradual energy curve, with the biggest anthem near the final third.
Sessions focus Sessions releases and other unobtrusive instrumentals. Use long, consistent stretches of low-intensity music for reading, work or study.
All-time favorites A personal mixture of any official releases you enjoy. Put the three songs you most want to hear first, then use chronological or mood-based blocks.

Use names that stay understandable

Include the purpose in the title rather than relying on a private memory. Names such as League Lo-Fi for Work, Worlds Anthems — High Energy and Champion Themes — Instrumental remain clear when you share them or return months later. Avoid calling a list “complete” unless you have defined what complete means, such as every track from one specified album.

How can I find the official version of a League song?

Search with the release title and artist, then confirm the result’s credits and album context. Riot’s catalog includes collaborations, so the artist field may not contain the word League even when the song is official.

  • Start with Riot Games Music and the exact song or album title.
  • For a champion theme, add the champion’s name and theme to the search.
  • For esports music, add the event name, season or year shown in the release title.
  • For virtual acts, search the fictional group name as the artist, then inspect the associated album.
  • For Sessions, search the Sessions name and the featured musician rather than assuming every ambient track has the same artist credit.
  • Check the cover art, artist, album and duration before adding a result with a familiar title.

Do not use a fan upload as a substitute for an unavailable official item if your goal is an official catalog. A fan edit can change the arrangement, add copyrighted material or disappear without notice.

How do I keep the playlist accurate as Riot releases new music?

Streaming catalogs change, so maintenance is part of making a reliable playlist. Set a reminder after major League music announcements or at a cadence that matches how often you listen.

  1. Record the source. In the description, note whether the list is built from the Official League of Legends hub, a named album, Sessions or your own searches.
  2. Check new releases. Visit the Riot Games Music artist or official League hub in your chosen service and scan for newly added albums or singles.
  3. Review unavailable tracks. If a song becomes greyed out or unplayable, remove it only after checking whether another official version or regional listing exists.
  4. Preserve your order. Add new songs at the beginning, end or in a dated block instead of allowing automatic additions to change the mood of the whole list.
  5. Use a change note. A description such as Checked October 2026 tells collaborators when availability was last verified. It does not claim that the playlist is complete worldwide.

Riot’s catalog can contain alternate versions, remasters or event releases. Treat each as a separate recording when deciding whether it belongs in your list; do not replace a favorite version silently.

Can I use a League playlist in a livestream or video?

Not automatically. Streaming a track through Spotify or YouTube Music gives you personal listening access; it does not grant synchronization, public-performance or redistribution rights for a stream, video or podcast.

Arcane League Of Legends: Season Two (Original Score)
  • The dust has settled in Piltover but the Arcane is ever present

Riot’s Creator-Safe guidance says a song is designated creator-safe only when players may use it in player-created content and monetize that content under the posted guidelines. Riot links to a Riot Games Creator-Safe Playlist on Spotify and a League of Legends Creator-Safe Playlist on SoundCloud. The creator-safe designation belongs to the specific songs and terms on those lists, not to every recording in the wider League catalog.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What the creator-safe rules mean in practice

  • Check the current Riot creator-safe policy and playlist immediately before publishing; both the list and the terms can change.
  • Use only the tracks covered by that designation and follow any restrictions stated in the guidelines.
  • Do not assume that a champion theme, Worlds anthem or popular virtual-artist song is safe simply because Riot released it.
  • Riot says music outside the creator-safe playlist generally requires permission or a license, and some recordings involve external rights holders.
  • Do not claim creator-safe audio through Content ID or a similar rights-claiming system.

If your planned use is commercial, sponsored, broadcast, or otherwise outside ordinary player-created content, obtain permission from the relevant rights holders instead of relying on a playlist label.

What should I do when a track is missing or unavailable?

A missing result usually reflects search wording, regional licensing, a removed upload or a platform-specific catalog difference—not proof that the song never existed.

Search returns the wrong song

Search the exact release title, then add Riot Games Music or the credited artist. Open the album page and compare duration and artwork. If several versions exist, choose the official audio or album entry rather than a user-uploaded remix.

The track is visible but cannot play

Availability can differ by country, account type and licensing window. Try the same release on the other service, look for an official alternate version, and note the date and territory in your playlist description instead of promising that every listener will hear it.

The playlist changed after an app update

Use the service’s current library and playlist editor rather than an old tutorial’s button names. If ordering controls moved, open the playlist’s edit view and look for a drag handle, sort control or more-options menu; the labels are not identical across mobile, desktop and web versions.

A collaborator added an unofficial upload

Open the item’s artist and album details, remove the upload, and replace it with an official release when one is available. Turn off collaborative editing or make the playlist private if you need a fixed, personal sequence.

Is there a physical League soundtrack option?

Collectors may encounter references to a vinyl edition described by Riot in 2019 as containing 26 orchestral works. Riot named iam8bit as a source for that edition. The cited announcement does not establish current stock, resale prices or continuing availability, so verify the exact release, seller and condition before buying.

A physical record is optional and unrelated to making a streaming playlist. Use the track list printed for the specific edition if you want to recreate its orchestral sequence digitally; do not assume it represents Riot’s entire music catalog.

What is the fastest checklist for a good playlist?

Use this checklist before sharing your finished list:

  • Choose Spotify or YouTube Music based on the service you already use.
  • Create a title that states the mood, category or event.
  • Begin with the official League hub, Riot Games Music artist page or an official release.
  • Verify each track’s artist, album and artwork before adding it.
  • Separate champion themes, virtual artists, Worlds anthems and Sessions when their moods differ.
  • Reorder the opening tracks so the first five minutes match the purpose of the list.
  • Set visibility and collaboration permissions deliberately.
  • Record when you last checked availability, especially for a shared playlist.
  • Keep a private-listening playlist separate from any playlist intended to support creator content.
  • Before using music in a stream or video, read Riot’s current creator-safe guidelines and confirm every song qualifies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I move a League playlist from Spotify to YouTube Music without rebuilding it?

Neither service’s basic playlist controls guarantee a universal one-click transfer. The dependable manual method is to keep the track titles and artists visible, search each official release on the destination service, and check the final order because regional catalogs may not match.

How many songs should a League of Legends playlist contain?

There is no Riot-defined ideal length. A short 10–20 track mood list is easier to sequence, while a longer collection works better when divided into categories such as Sessions, champion themes and Worlds anthems.

Why do two versions of the same League song have different lengths?

One may be an audio release, music video, live performance, edit or remaster. Compare the album and artist credits, then choose the version whose duration and arrangement fit your playlist rather than assuming the longer upload is the official original.

Can I make a collaborative League playlist with friends?

Yes, when your service offers collaborative playlist permissions, you can invite others to add or reorder tracks. Set a clear theme and ask collaborators to use official releases so the list does not fill with duplicate edits or unrelated fan uploads.
