Spotify has no universal switch that removes every AI-generated song from your playlists. You can still reduce unwanted AI music by hiding individual tracks, snoozing recommendations for 30 days if you have Premium, using skips and other negative feedback consistently, disabling Autoplay when a playlist ends, and avoiding intentional engagement with artists marked as AI Personas. Spotify’s AI Persona badge identifies a photorealistic, AI-generated artist identity; it does not prove that the audio itself was made by AI. Song and AI Credits can disclose AI vocals, lyrics, instrumentation or production, but credits are voluntary and an uncredited track is not proven to be entirely human-made.
Can I block all AI-generated songs on Spotify?
No. Spotify does not currently document a listener-controlled filter that detects and removes every AI-generated recording from playlists, Discover Weekly, Release Radar or other personalized surfaces. A Spotify Community accepted answer dated May 10, 2025 stated that there was no way to prevent AI-generated music from appearing in playlists such as Spotify’s “Made for You” collections, and directed users to a feature idea for labeling and filtering it.
The practical approach is layered rather than absolute. Native controls can suppress individual recommendations and teach Spotify that you do not want similar tracks. Metadata can help you identify some AI-related activity, but neither an AI Persona badge nor an AI Credit is a complete detector. Spotify’s own moderation can remove suspected spam from recommendations, yet that is a platform decision, not a setting you can apply to your account.

Use Spotify’s Hide action on the specific recommendation. Spotify says hiding removes that track from the playlist across your devices; it does not create a universal ban on all songs by the artist or all AI music.

- Open the playlist, recommendation list or personalized mix where the song appears.
- Open the track’s options menu. Depending on the app surface, this is the three-dot menu beside the song.
- Choose Hide. The track should disappear from that playlist or recommendation view on your other devices signed in to the same account.
- If Spotify offers an undo control immediately afterward and you hid the wrong song, use it before leaving the screen. Otherwise, find the track again and use the available unhide or restore control in that playlist.
Hide the song wherever it appears rather than merely skipping it once. A skip contributes negative feedback, but hiding gives Spotify a clearer signal that you do not want that particular recommendation in that context.
What is the difference between hiding a track and snoozing it?
Hiding is a track-level removal from the playlist or recommendation where you used it. Snooze, available to Premium listeners, tells Spotify not to suggest that recommendation anywhere for 30 days.

If the same suspected AI track keeps surfacing in multiple recommendation contexts, use Snooze when it is offered, then hide it in each playlist where it remains. Free listeners can still use Hide and skips, but do not have the 30-day, everywhere recommendation snooze described for Premium.
How do skips and other feedback reduce AI recommendations?
Spotify says that skips, hides and other interactions shape your taste profile. Repeated negative feedback should result in fewer similar recommendations, although Spotify does not promise an immediate or perfect result and does not expose a separate “AI” signal that you can tune.
Use a consistent negative signal
- Skip a track as soon as you recognize that you do not want it.
- Hide it when the option is available instead of relying only on a skip.
- Do not save, like, add or repeatedly replay the song while investigating it; those actions can look like positive engagement.
- Give positive feedback to human-made music that matches what you actually want. Recommendation systems need both negative and positive examples.
Do not treat one recommendation as proof
A song can sound synthetic without being disclosed as AI, and a track can carry an AI-related credit without being wholly generated. Feedback changes what Spotify predicts you will enjoy; it does not establish the production method of any recording.
How do I stop Spotify from playing more recommendations after a playlist?
Turn off Autoplay in Spotify’s settings when you do not want additional recommendations after an album or playlist ends. Spotify documents Autoplay as the setting that controls whether it continues with suggested songs after your selected content finishes.

- Open Spotify’s Settings from your profile or account menu.
- Find the playback section and locate Autoplay.
- Switch Autoplay off.
- Start playback from a playlist or album you selected yourself and confirm that Spotify stops when the queue ends.
Autoplay limits what happens after the final track; it does not inspect the playlist for AI music and does not remove a song that is already in the queue. Treat it as a boundary around playback, not an AI filter.

An AI Persona badge identifies an AI-generated, photorealistic artist identity. Spotify says the badge can appear beside an artist in profiles, Search and Now Playing, with playlist-row placement expanding as the rollout continues.
The badge is about the artist identity, not necessarily the audio. An AI Persona may release recordings that involve different production methods, while a conventional artist’s track could use AI vocals, lyrics, instruments or production without carrying an AI Persona badge. Therefore:
- Badge present: treat the artist identity as AI-generated and avoid following, saving or replaying it if you do not want to encourage related recommendations.
- Badge absent: do not infer that the recording was made entirely by people. The badge is not a universal AI-audio detector.
- Badge location varies: Spotify is rolling the label across surfaces, so its absence in one view may reflect rollout coverage rather than a production disclosure.
Spotify says music from AI Personas is excluded from editorial and personalized recommendations unless the listener intentionally engages, such as by following the artist. Following an AI Persona therefore changes the recommendation context: it is an explicit signal that can make related music eligible for suggestions.
How reliable are Spotify Song Credits and AI Credits?
Spotify is supporting an industry standard for disclosures covering AI vocals, lyrics, instrumentation and production. When a participating artist, label, distributor or credit system supplies that information, it can provide useful evidence about how a track was made.
What a credit can tell you
- An AI-vocal credit indicates that vocals were disclosed as AI-assisted or AI-generated under the applicable credit standard.
- An AI-lyrics, instrumentation or production credit identifies the credited part of the workflow, rather than automatically classifying the whole recording as synthetic.
- Credits can help you decide whether to hide a track when the disclosure matches your personal threshold.
What a missing credit cannot tell you
Credits depend on artists, labels, distributors and participating systems. Spotify does not say that every upload must carry a complete AI disclosure, so an absent credit is not proof of human-only production. Conversely, a disclosed AI element does not by itself show that every sound in the track was generated by a model.

Use Credits together with the AI Persona label and your own listening decision. None of these signals provides a guaranteed, account-wide classification of every song.
How can I keep AI music out of Discover Weekly and other personalized playlists?
You cannot apply a documented AI-only filter to Discover Weekly or Spotify’s other “Made for You” playlists. You can, however, reduce the chance of repeated recommendations by managing each appearance and avoiding engagement that tells Spotify the song is wanted.
- Inspect the recommendation: check for an AI Persona badge and open Song or AI Credits when available.
- Skip immediately: do not let the song play repeatedly while deciding.
- Hide the track: remove it from the playlist view where Spotify offers the control.
- Snooze on Premium: use the 30-day snooze if you want Spotify to stop suggesting that recommendation across surfaces for a limited period.
- Remove positive signals: avoid saving, liking, following or adding the artist while researching the track.
- Repeat for recurring tracks: personalized playlists refresh, so handle a song again if Spotify presents it in a new context.
This process targets recommendations, not ownership of the catalog. You can still find and play a hidden song deliberately through search, a direct artist page or another playlist, because Hide is not a legal or technical deletion of the recording from Spotify.

What is Spotify doing to reduce AI slop and spam?
Spotify’s October 20, 2026 newsroom update said that “AI-generated slop and spam don’t belong in your recommendations.” The company reported taking more than 50 million slop and spam tracks out of recommendations during that year, alongside more than 75 million spammy tracks removed from the platform for serious or repeated violations.
Those figures describe Spotify’s platform-level moderation and ranking work. They do not mean that every AI-assisted song has been removed, nor do they give listeners a switch to apply the same rules manually. Spotify may classify a track as spam because of behavior, volume or policy violations rather than because all of its audio was generated by AI. A legitimate AI-assisted release can therefore be treated differently from abusive upload activity.
Are unofficial browser AI blockers worth using?
An unofficial browser tool reported by TechRadar on April 28, 2026 was created by developer Cedrik Sixtus. The tool labels and filters a community-maintained list of more than 4,700 suspected AI artists, using signals such as album art and upload frequency.

This is a fundamentally different option from Spotify’s native controls:

Use such a blocker only if you accept the account and reliability trade-offs. Review Spotify’s current terms before installing it, keep a way to disable the tool, and do not assume that a community label proves an artist used AI. A false positive can hide a human-made artist; a missed artist can still appear in your playlists.
Which approach should I use?
Choose the least risky control that matches how much filtering you need.
- You encountered one unwanted track: hide it and skip it. This is the fastest, most reversible response.
- The same recommendation keeps returning: Premium users should snooze it for 30 days, while all listeners should hide it in each playlist where it appears and avoid positive engagement.
- You want fewer algorithmic surprises after playback: turn off Autoplay. This controls continuation, not track classification.
- You are evaluating a suspected artist: check the AI Persona badge and available AI Credits, then treat missing metadata as inconclusive.
- You want broad automatic filtering: understand that no official universal switch exists. An unofficial browser blocker offers wider reach but introduces misclassification and possible terms-of-service concerns.
What should I do when Spotify’s controls do not seem to work?
The track still appears after I hid it
Confirm that you hid the exact track in the playlist or recommendation where it appeared, rather than only skipping it in another context. Hide applies to that track and playlist context; it is not a global artist or AI-category block. If the song appears in a refreshed playlist, repeat the action there.
I cannot find Snooze
Spotify describes the 30-day snooze as a Premium feature. If you are using a free account, rely on Hide, skips and other negative feedback instead. Labels and menu placement can also differ between Spotify’s mobile, desktop and web interfaces.
Autoplay is off but another song still plays
Check whether the song is already in your queue or was added by another playback feature. Autoplay only governs additional recommendations after the selected playlist or album ends; it does not clear a queue or remove tracks from a playlist.

I see no AI Persona badge or AI Credit
That absence is inconclusive. AI Persona labeling is rolling out across surfaces, and AI Credits depend on voluntary information from the artist, label, distributor and participating credit systems. Use Hide and recommendation feedback based on your preference rather than waiting for a definitive label.
A browser blocker hides an artist I trust
Disable the extension or remove the artist from its filter if the tool allows that. Community lists use indirect signals and can misclassify artists; Spotify’s own metadata and controls remain the safer baseline for account use.
How can I maintain a cleaner playlist over time?
Set a simple routine whenever you discover a suspicious track:

- Look for an AI Persona badge in the artist profile, Search or Now Playing view.
- Open available Song or AI Credits and note which part of the production is disclosed.
- Skip and hide the track; use Premium snooze if you need a temporary, broader suppression.
- Turn Autoplay off for listening sessions where you want playback to stop at the end of your chosen content.
- Review your own saved playlists periodically and remove tracks you no longer want, since recommendation controls do not rewrite every playlist you created manually.
This routine cannot certify that every remaining song is human-made. It does keep your explicit choices, metadata checks and recommendation feedback aligned, which is the strongest control Spotify currently exposes to listeners.
