Check whether your PC meets the requirements
Microsoft lists Windows 11 or Windows 10 version 2004 (20H1/build 19041) and newer, with a 64-bit x64 or ARM64 processor, as the minimum requirements. Check your Windows version and processor architecture before choosing an installer. The installer bootstrapper also installs the latest stable Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime during setup. Choose an installation method

Install PowerToys
Microsoft Store
Find Microsoft PowerToys in the Microsoft Store and install it through the Store. This is a straightforward choice if you prefer managing apps there.
GitHub release installer
- Open the official Microsoft PowerToys repository and go to its releases.
- Choose the executable asset that matches your processor: x64 or ARM64.
- Select the installation scope. The usual choice for most devices is the x64 per-user installer. Per-user installation is for the current account; machine-wide installation makes PowerToys available to all users on the computer.
- Run the installer and follow its prompts.
If you are unsure which scope to choose, use per-user installation unless other accounts on the PC also need PowerToys. The repository documents machine-wide installation as an option.

Open PowerShell or Command Prompt and run Microsoft’s documented default command:
winget install --id Microsoft.PowerToys --source wingetThis installs for the current user by default. To request a machine-wide installation, Microsoft’s repository gives this example:

PowerToys is a collection of utilities, not a single-purpose app. Microsoft says an overview window introduces the available utilities after installation. In PowerToys Settings, the Home view provides utility overviews and controls for enabling or disabling utilities individually. Start with the tasks you actually want to improve; you do not need to switch on the entire collection.

These are examples from Microsoft’s lineup, not a required configuration. Utility names and availability can change; check the current repository for the latest list. If your needs change, return to PowerToys Settings and enable or disable utilities individually.
