Rayman Legends Retold gives players a free Astro Bot costume on PlayStation 5. Visit Victor Velour, the game’s tailor, during your first visit to his shop and the outfit unlocks without a separate purchase. Ubisoft describes the costume as PS5-exclusive; no paid-DLC price is listed for it.
The crossover arrives with Rayman Legends Retold on 3 December 2026. The remake adds rebuilt 3D visuals, a retold story, a sixth realm, four new musical stages, dragon rides, Cave of Trials challenges and couch co-op for up to four players.
How do I get the Astro Bot costume in Rayman Legends Retold?
Play until you can enter Victor Velour’s tailor shop, then make your first visit. The Astro Bot outfit is unlocked there automatically and is described as free. You do not need to buy a separate costume pack or enter a code.

Is the Astro Bot outfit free or paid DLC?
It is presented as a free in-game unlock tied to the first visit to Victor Velour. Ubisoft does not describe a separate price, premium currency requirement or paid downloadable-content purchase for this costume.
That free unlock is distinct from the game’s edition pricing. The PlayStation Store lists a PS5 Standard Edition at $39.99 and a Deluxe Edition at $49.99. Those are listed product prices and can change by region or storefront; they are not the price of the Astro Bot outfit itself.
Why is Astro Bot appearing in a Rayman game?
The costume completes a reciprocal platforming cameo. Rayman appeared in Astro Bot (2024), and Astro Bot now appears inside Rayman’s new adventure.
The work brings together Ubisoft Milan, Ubisoft Montpellier and Team Asobi. Guillaume Arvieu, art and world director on Rayman Legends Retold, described the two series as games that “make you feel good,” pointing to their colorful worlds, fluid movement, discovery, surprise and positive values. That is a developer’s description of the collaboration, not an independent review judgment.

How was Astro Bot adapted to Rayman’s art style?
The artists kept the cues that make Astro Bot recognizable while reshaping them for Rayman’s more handcrafted visual language.
- Reflective metal: Astro Bot’s polished metallic parts remain visible.
- Glowing blue details: The blue lights and accents are retained as visual identifiers.
- Smooth white surfaces: The clean white body materials carry over into the costume.
- Rayman-compatible proportions: The silhouette and proportions are altered so the outfit fits Rayman’s body and animation style rather than copying Astro Bot at full scale.
Lead Character Artist Quentin Chaillet said the challenge was bringing Astro Bot’s sleek, futuristic aesthetic into Rayman’s handcrafted world. The result is a stylized adaptation, not a claim that Rayman becomes a separate Astro Bot character.
When does Rayman Legends Retold launch, and which platforms get it?
The scheduled release date is 3 December 2026. Ubisoft lists PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, GeForce Now and Blacknut.
