What to know before you start
Starsand Island is developed and published by Seed Sparkle Lab. Steam lists Version 1.0 as released on August 18, 2026, after Early Access began on February 11, 2026. The developer says the 1.0 launch includes new content and changes informed by Early Access feedback, so treat older guides as orientation, not definitive instructions for the current version. Steam’s game listing and the developer’s launch announcement frame the experience around farming, building, exploration, and spending time with island residents. The announcement also highlights an autumn festival with quests and special rewards connected to all five professions.
How to approach your first days
1. Follow the opening quest
Use the opening quest sequence as your first anchor. A community getting-started reference says it unlocks Build Mode and the Island Life app. After that, follow the progression screen in your own save for the next objective: available sources do not establish a reliable day-by-day unlock schedule. The community getting-started guide is useful for orientation, but the in-game objectives are the better guide to what is currently available to you.
2. Keep basic materials instead of selling everything
A beginner guide identifies softwood, stone, and plant fiber as useful early crafting materials. Keep a practical reserve when gathering so you have supplies for recipes and progression, rather than selling every raw resource as soon as you collect it. This is community advice, not a fixed game rule; use your current recipes and available storage to decide what counts as a useful reserve. The beginner guide offers a starting point.
#1 Best Overall
3. Make room for crafting
Crafting supports tool upgrades and machines that process gathered materials, according to the community getting-started and beginner references. Those improvements can make later work across different activities easier. Give crafting attention early, but you do not need to finish every crafting tier before farming, fishing, exploring, or socializing.
4. Pick an activity that sounds enjoyable
The game supports farming, fishing, ranching, exploration, building, and social play. A current beginner guide identifies activity mentors: Zerine for crafting, Graminova for farming, Delphin for fishing, Pastelle for ranching, and Zephyria for exploration. Think of them as entry points to activities, not steps in a required sequence. The launch announcement also points to all five professions, but the available information does not establish one universal order for pursuing them.
5. Choose goals and spending based on your save
There is no source-supported best first-days profession or income method for Version 1.0. Decide what to pursue by looking at the activity you want to try, the resources it uses, and the unlock or bottleneck you want to address. Check requests, costs, and available options in your own save instead of relying on fixed profit rankings or day-count plans.

Community references can help you recognize materials, systems, and mentors, but their details may lag behind game updates. For a practical check, compare a guide’s claim with the relevant in-game screen—especially when it concerns an unlock, recipe, cost, or progression requirement. The developer’s Version 1.0 announcement confirms that launch included adjustments after Early Access, while a guide index may report verification dates without serving as an official patch record. The community guide index can help identify guide currency, but the game itself should settle what applies to your save.
