If an EA verification code does not arrive or will not work, first confirm you are signing into the intended EA Account, then check the registered email’s spam folder, available space, and blocked messages. Resend the code once after those checks. If you cannot access that email, use another verification method already enabled on your account or a saved backup code; if neither is available, contact EA for account recovery rather than trying to bypass verification.
Fix an EA verification email that has not arrived
- Confirm the EA Account. Make sure you are signing into the account you intend to use. If you have more than one EA Account, a code may be sent to the email registered to a different account.
- Check the mailbox. Look in spam or junk, confirm the inbox is not full, and check whether you or your email provider blocked EA messages.
- Try EA’s additional delivery step. Search for an earlier message from
ea@e.ea.com, allow images to display in that message, then request another code. These steps are recommended in EA’s two-factor authentication guidance. - Use the newest code promptly. If you have requested multiple codes, use the latest message rather than an older one.
If you have forgotten the account email or cannot access that mailbox, do not keep requesting codes to it. Move to account recovery instead.
Choose another verification method if it is available
EA documents three two-factor authentication methods: email, text message, and an authenticator app. Which alternatives you can use depends on what is enabled for your account and what EA offers for the security check you are completing. Changing the preferred method is not guaranteed to bypass a check that requires a particular method.

EA explains how to view or change verification options in its two-factor authentication settings guidance. Follow the options shown for your account rather than assuming every method will be available.

Use a backup code if you lost access to your usual method
EA says backup codes can be used to sign in from a new device when you cannot access your selected verification method. If you still have a saved code, use it through the sign-in flow. Keep any remaining codes somewhere secure.
Before removing or resetting an old phone, save your backup codes and transfer authenticator data if your app supports it. Otherwise, losing the enrolled device may also mean losing access to the codes it generates.

Recover the account if you cannot use email, another method, or a backup code
If you have lost access to the registered email and cannot complete verification with another enabled method or a backup code, use EA’s account-recovery route. EA says users who cannot access or sign in to an account, including through a connected account, can contact EA for help. Start with EA’s locked-out account help.
If the issue is only a forgotten password and you can still access the account’s email or EA ID, use the password-reset option in the EA Help login flow. EA’s account information guidance covers updating account details. Do not share your password or verification code with anyone: EA warns users never to share login information, passwords, verification codes, or passkeys.

When an EA app error appears instead of a missing code
An EA app authentication error is a separate symptom from an email or SMS that never arrives. Follow the guidance for the specific error shown rather than assuming every sign-in failure is a code-delivery problem:
- EC: 10000: EA recommends checking connection stability and login details. If you cannot access the email or password for the account, use account-access troubleshooting.
- EC: 10500: EA says a service outage may be responsible. Clear the app cache, try again later, and allow time for a fix if needed.
See EA’s EA app error-code troubleshooting page for those error-specific steps. The presence of one of these errors does not establish that every verification failure is caused by an outage.
