Apple Invites sends guests a link to an event; it is not the same as an invitation created in Apple Calendar. If an Apple Invites guest says nothing arrived, copy the event’s current link and send it again through a messaging app, then ask the guest to open it in a browser. Guests do not need an Apple device, Apple Account, or iCloud+ subscription to RSVP.

First, confirm which Apple service you used

Apple Invites and Apple Calendar have different invitation flows. Invites is Apple’s event invitation app and web service: the host shares a link, and guests use that link to view the invitation and RSVP. Calendar invitations are attached to calendar events, and sending and receiving options depend on the calendar account and its server support.

Service How the invitation is sent What the guest uses
Apple Invites The host copies the event link and shares it through a messaging platform. The guest can open the link on the web; an Apple device, app, or Apple Account is not required.
Apple Calendar The invitation is sent as part of a calendar event; available behavior depends on the account and server. For iCloud Calendar, invitations can arrive as notifications or email, depending on its settings.

If you created the event in Calendar, skip to the Calendar checks. The Invites steps below do not change Calendar’s sending or receiving settings.

Fix an Apple Invites link that was not sent or received

1. Make sure the host can access the event

Open Apple Invites and check that you are signed into the Apple Account you used to create the event and that the intended event is visible. Apple says iCloud+ subscribers have full access to Invites; its launch announcement specifies that subscribers can create invitations and anyone can RSVP.

Apple iPhone 14, 128GB, Midnight - Unlocked (Renewed)
  • This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
  • Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
  • The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
  • Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.

If you are using the iPhone app, Apple lists iPhone models running iOS 18 or later as supported. Apple also offers Invites on the web. Some features vary by region, so availability can differ.

2. Copy the event link again

From the intended event, copy its invitation link again and send that current link to the guest through a messaging platform. Apple describes link sharing as the way to invite people. If the first message seems to have failed, try another messaging channel; that is a practical way to isolate a delivery problem, not a specific fix Apple guarantees.

  • Unlocked for freedom to choose your carrier. Compatible with both GSM & CDMA networks. The phone is unlocked to work with all GSM Carriers & CDMA Carriers Including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint., Etc.

3. Ask the guest to open the link in a browser

Have the guest open the newly shared link in a browser on their phone, tablet, or computer. Apple says guests can RSVP on the web without an Apple device, the Invites app, an Apple Account, or an iCloud+ subscription. If the link opens but the invitation is not the expected event, check that you copied the link from the correct event.

4. Check whether the event has reached its guest limit

Apple’s Invites FAQ says up to 100 guests can participate in one event. This is the stated participation limit, not a measure of delivery reliability. If you are inviting a large group, check the event’s guest list and whether it has reached that limit.

5. Get specific details before contacting Apple

If you cannot access or share the event, or a freshly copied link still fails for several guests, note the exact error and the host’s iPhone model and iOS version or, for web use, the browser and device. Share those details with Apple Support so the problem can be investigated. Apple’s published Invites FAQ and launch announcement describe access and link sharing but do not provide a fault-specific delivery procedure or identify app reinstallation, mail settings, or new hardware as fixes.

If the invitation was created in Apple Calendar

Check the calendar account

Apple’s Calendar guidance says the relevant account calendars must be enabled, and invitation support varies by calendar server. On the iPhone, use Apple’s Send invitations in Calendar on iPhone guide for the calendar account you use rather than applying Apple Invites instructions to a Calendar event.

Review iCloud Calendar sending and receiving settings

If the event is on iCloud Calendar, Apple provides separate controls for the address used to send invitations and whether incoming invitations are received as notifications or email. Follow Apple’s Set up how you send and receive invitations for iCloud Calendar guide. These settings are for iCloud Calendar and do not govern Apple Invites links.
