If a quest in Minecraft Dungeons 2 is stuck, first update the game, then restart the session and check the objective again. For a missing key or another blocked objective, inspect the area before using the in-game “Reset current quest” action: resetting can restart mission progress. If you are stuck at the Prime Enchanter arena, version 1.1.3.0 or newer is the key fix; Mojang says that update resolved the lowered-platform softlock.
What should I try first when a quest gets stuck?
Use this order: update the game, fully restart the session, revisit the objective, and reset the current quest only if the objective still cannot progress. This starts with the least disruptive remedies and leaves a reset as a deliberate choice rather than the first reaction.
- Check for an update. Mojang’s October 22, 2026 announcement for hotfix 1.1.3.0 lists fixes for several quest-related problems, including wrong markers in “Wrath of the Sculkers” and “Training with the Enchantsmith.” If the game offers that update or a later version, install it before trying to replay the quest.
- Restart the whole session. Quit to the main menu, close and relaunch the game, then re-enter the mission. This can clear temporary session state. It is not a guaranteed repair for a persistent problem or save corruption.
- Recheck the objective area. Return to the relevant room or encounter and look for a dropped key, an interactable object, or an objective that has appeared since the restart. Check whether the marker now points to the expected place.
- Reset only if needed. In the quest or mission menu, choose the in-game “Reset current quest” action and replay the objective. The reset can restart mission progress, so use it only when you are prepared to do that.
A community report describes a reset helping when a key was missing, but that is anecdotal, not a published universal fix from Mojang. If the same blocker returns after a reset, preserve details about it and report the reproducible failure rather than repeatedly restarting the quest.
Which fix should I choose?

Why is my quest marker pointing to the wrong place?
First install hotfix 1.1.3.0 or a later version, then restart the session and check the marker again. Mojang’s October 22, 2026 hotfix announcement specifically names marker fixes for “Wrath of the Sculkers” and “Training with the Enchantsmith.”
If the marker still appears wrong, return to the objective area and check for a nearby dropped item or interactable before resetting. If you report the issue, include the quest name and a screenshot or clip showing both the marker and where it leads; that makes it easier to distinguish an incorrect marker from an objective that has not spawned.

How do I fix the Prime Enchanter arena softlock?
Install version 1.1.3.0 or newer. Mojang’s bug tracker entry MCD2-67 identifies a progression blocker in which the center platform remained lowered; Mojang marked it fixed in 1.1.3.0.
The issue could occur after a player left and rejoined a session, according to Mojang’s hotfix announcement. If you are already on 1.1.3.0 or later and the platform still prevents progress, record the exact sequence that led to the lowered platform, your game version, and a clip or screenshots. Report it as a continuing or recurring failure instead of assuming the old fix did not apply.

What if the quest menu will not close?
A reported case is recorded as MCD2-92: after defeating the Soul Corrupted Witch and speaking to a villager, the quest menu would not close. Mojang has not published a universal player-side fix for this menu-lock issue.
If it happens, note the sequence of actions and whether the menu remains frozen after quitting to the main menu and restarting the game. If you cannot close the menu or reproduce the failure after restarting, gather your version, platform, quest name, exact steps, and a clip or screenshots, then use Minecraft Help and Mojang’s bug-report route. Do not keep resetting progress when the issue is a menu that will not respond.

When should I reset the quest, and when should I report a bug?
Reset when the objective is still blocked after updating, restarting, and checking the area, and when you accept that mission progress will restart. Report the issue when the menu is frozen, an objective never spawns, or the same failure happens again after a reset.

- For a report: include your platform, game version, quest name, exact steps to reproduce the problem, and a clip or screenshots if available.
- For a recurring known issue: state whether you are on 1.1.3.0 or newer and whether the hotfix changed the behavior.
Mojang’s launch notice says it is reviewing player reports to prioritize fixes and changes for upcoming releases. A specific, reproducible report is more informative than saying only that a quest is stuck.

What quest-related issues did hotfix 1.1.3.0 address?
Mojang’s October 22, 2026 Steam announcement lists several fixes relevant to quest progression and display. These are specific fixes, not evidence that every stuck quest has the same cause.
- The Prime Enchanter arena platform no longer remains lowered in the reported progression-blocking situation after leaving and rejoining a session.
- Quest markers were corrected for “Wrath of the Sculkers” and “Training with the Enchantsmith.”
- The online quest journal no longer displays too many player icons.
If your issue does not match one of these cases, use the general troubleshooting order above and report it if it persists. Mojang has not published a reliable prevalence statistic for stuck quests, so there is no supported basis for estimating how often these problems affect players.

Not necessarily. Mojang listed excessive player icons in the online quest journal as a display fix in 1.1.3.0; that report is distinct from the Prime Enchanter progression blocker and the named wrong-marker fixes.
