If Another Hero, Please is not showing the playtest, search Steam for the separate listing Another Hero, Please Playtest. The closed test is a separate beta application, not simply an option on the main game page. Open its listing and select Request playtest; submitting a request does not guarantee access.

The playtest is live: SteamDB records the beta app as released on October 28, 2026. That status means the test application has launched, not that every request is automatically accepted or that the full game has been released. This guide explains how to find the correct page, what to do if it remains hard to locate, and what is known about the test and the next opportunity.

Why can’t I find the playtest on Steam?

The playtest has its own Steam listing, separate from the main game. SteamDB identifies the playtest as app 5447090 and the main game as parent app 5361820. That separation is the most likely reason a search for only the main game does not reveal the test; it may not explain every account-specific issue.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

In practical terms, searching for Another Hero, Please may take you to the main game’s page without showing the control you need for the test. Instead, look for the full, distinct title Another Hero, Please Playtest. The separate listing represents a beta application linked to the main title. It is not just another name for the main game, and the main game’s page should not be treated as a guaranteed shortcut to the playtest request.

SteamDB marks the beta as released, with a recorded release timestamp of October 28, 2026 at 15:51:41 UTC. That timestamp applies to the playtest app, not to the commercial release of the full game. “Released” here should be read as the status of the beta application: it does not establish that the full game is commercially available, that the test is an unrestricted demo, or that every player will be admitted.

The title can also be easy to misread because there are two related Steam pages and two different access expectations. The main page is for Another Hero, Please; the beta page is for Another Hero, Please Playtest. If you are trying to join the current closed test, the latter is the relevant destination. If your goal is simply to follow the game or wait for the planned public demo, the official main Steam page and Mole Plays announcements are the places to watch.

How do I request access to the playtest?

Use the dedicated playtest listing while signed in to the Steam account you intend to use. The documented action is a request, so you may need to wait for an access decision after submitting it.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Sign in to Steam. Check that the account in the Steam client or browser is the one where you want the playtest to appear. This matters because the request is made through Steam, and you want to make it from the account on which you would play.
  2. Search for “Another Hero, Please Playtest.” Look for the separate playtest listing rather than relying on the main Another Hero, Please page. Including the word “Playtest” helps distinguish the beta app from the parent game.
  3. Open the playtest page. Confirm that you are looking at the dedicated test listing, not only the main game’s store page. SteamDB’s identifiers can also help distinguish them: the beta is app 5447090, while the parent game is app 5361820.
  4. Select “Request playtest.” Follow the prompt shown on the Steam listing to submit the request. The request is the documented route to ask to join; it is not confirmation that a place has been reserved.
  5. Check Steam for updates. Look at Steam notifications and revisit the playtest listing for an access decision. The developer has not published an acceptance schedule or guaranteed response time, so there is no documented time by which every applicant should expect an answer.

Mole Plays’ recruitment announcement also invites interested players to request a key through its stated developer contact route or visit the Steam page. Use the contact route published by the developer; the announcement does not promise a key to everyone who asks.

These are two ways of reaching out about the same closed test, not two different editions or tiers of the game. The Steam route is the direct option if you can find the listing and want to use its request control. The developer contact route is an alternative mentioned in the recruitment announcement. Neither route comes with a published guarantee of acceptance, a stated quota, or a response deadline.

If you submit a Steam request, keep the distinction between “requested” and “accepted” in mind. A request is an expression of interest. The published information does not describe the selection process, how many testers will be chosen, whether requests are reviewed in batches, or how quickly decisions are sent. Avoid assuming that silence for a particular number of days means rejection—or that an initial request means access is already approved.

What should I try if the listing still does not appear?

Check the exact title and account first. If the separate playtest listing remains unavailable to you, use the developer’s published Steam route or contact path rather than assuming that the main game page contains the request control.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Recheck the title: search for the full playtest name, not just the main game name. The addition of “Playtest” is the important distinction in the Steam listing’s title.
  • Confirm the account: make sure you are signed in to the Steam account where you want to request or receive access. If you use Steam in more than one place, check which account is active before submitting anything.
  • Open the dedicated beta page: do not rely on the parent game page to show the same information or request action. The beta is a separate app, even though it is linked to the main game.
  • Try the developer’s route: Mole Plays’ recruitment post points interested players to the Steam page and offers a developer contact route for requesting a key. Use the contact information as published by Mole Plays rather than relying on an unofficial account or a third-party offer.
  • Allow for a decision: a submitted request is not the same as confirmed admission. Published materials do not give a tester quota, selection criteria, or invitation timetable.
  • Keep an eye on official updates: if you cannot reach the test or are not admitted, follow the official Steam page and Mole Plays announcements for updates about future testing and the planned public demo.

The known guidance is about finding the correct listing and using the developer’s stated request routes. It does not establish that an account setting, region setting, Steam client cache, reinstall, or other technical change will make the page appear. There is no confirmed universal account-specific cause for a missing listing, so avoid changing unrelated settings based on guesswork.

Likewise, a missing request button should not be treated as proof that the game has been cancelled or that the beta app is unreleased. SteamDB records the playtest app as released on October 28, 2026, while the developer’s recruitment announcement describes a closed test. Those facts establish that the beta exists and is open for requests, but they do not promise that every user will see identical access status or receive an invitation.

What does the current playtest include?

Mole Plays describes Another Hero, Please as a fantasy arena-management game. You build and manage a guild, recruit and train fighters, scout opponents, choose a lineup, and prepare tactics; during matches, fighters act autonomously while you can influence the action from the sidelines.

That combination makes the game more than a sequence of direct-control arena battles. The player’s work includes preparation and management: developing a roster, equipping fighters, choosing who competes, and planning how the team should approach an opponent. Once the match is underway, the fighters act on their own, while the player can issue instructions and affect the action from the sidelines.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The developer’s recruitment materials describe these parts of the current Windows build:

  • Two playable leagues: the test includes two leagues, with opponents becoming more challenging. The league structure gives players a progression path through increasingly demanding competition.
  • Fighter recruitment and training: players recruit fighters and develop them through training. The exact roster size, training costs, and individual stat values are not specified in the published description.
  • Equipment and tactical preparation: fighters can be equipped, and players prepare tactics before competing. The materials identify these systems but do not provide a complete item list, equipment prices, or a detailed tactical guide.
  • Guild management: players manage a guild, including its buildings and staff. This is part of the management side of the game, alongside building a roster for the arena.
  • Automated arena combat: fighters act autonomously during matches, while players can issue instructions and influence events from the sidelines. The test is therefore not described as direct manual control of every fighter’s movement.
  • Mutations, spells, and progression: the current build includes these mechanics. The recruitment materials identify them as features but do not set out a full list of options or explain every progression rule.

The test is described as a closed playtest, not as an unrestricted public demo. Requesting entry is the route to try this build; a separate public demo is planned for later. The playtest’s released status does not change that distinction: a live, request-based test and a public demo are different access arrangements.

Because it is a playtest, it is sensible to approach it as an opportunity to try a current build rather than as a promise of a finished, final product. The public descriptions explain the game’s major systems, but they do not specify whether features will change, whether test progress will be retained, or whether all content in the eventual full game is included. Do not infer a final feature list or a guaranteed save transfer from the current test description.

What platform and languages does the playtest support?

The documented playtest platform is Windows PC. SteamDB lists it as single-player and records English and Czech for the interface, full audio, and subtitles.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Those language entries cover three categories—interface, full audio, and subtitles—and list English and Czech in each. The available listing details do not provide other language options. If you need a particular language, check the playtest page for the current listing rather than assuming that an additional language is included.

The published platform description is Windows PC. It does not confirm macOS, Linux, console, or Steam Deck support for this playtest. Treat compatibility with those platforms as unconfirmed rather than assuming that a Steam listing means the game will run on them. The fact that a title is available through Steam is not, by itself, confirmation of native support for every operating system or device that can access Steam.

No minimum or recommended hardware requirements are given in the published playtest descriptions summarized here. Windows PC is the supported platform information that is available; it should not be turned into a claim about a particular processor, graphics card, memory amount, or storage requirement. Check the current Steam listing for any system requirements Mole Plays adds.

The test is also listed as single-player. That is the supported mode stated for the playtest, so players should not assume that the closed test includes multiplayer, co-op, or online arena matches against other testers. The described gameplay is about managing a guild and preparing fighters for arena competition; no additional multiplayer mode is confirmed.

What if I can’t get into the closed test?

Follow the official Steam page and Mole Plays announcements for future updates. In an official Steam announcement dated October 11, 2026, the developer said it was polishing the game, preparing for closed playtesting, and planned to follow with a public demo.

“We’re currently polishing the game and preparing for closed playtesting. A public demo is planned to follow.”

— Mole Plays, official Steam announcement, October 11, 2026

The later recruitment posts confirm that the closed test is open, but they do not give a public-demo date or a full-game release date. If a request does not lead to access, following those official updates is the available way to watch for the next announced opportunity.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The public demo is the alternative to keep in view if the closed test is unavailable to you. It is planned to follow closed playtesting, but no date has been announced. That means there is no supported calendar estimate to give for when it will appear, how long the interval between phases will be, or when the commercial release will happen. Do not confuse the beta app’s October 28, 2026 release timestamp with either a public-demo date or the full game’s launch date.

There are therefore two practical routes:

  • Request the closed test: use the separate Steam playtest listing or the developer contact route named in Mole Plays’ recruitment announcement. This is the current route for people who want to try the closed test, but admission is not guaranteed and no selection timeline is published.
  • Wait for official updates: follow the main Steam page and Mole Plays announcements if you cannot find the listing, do not receive access, or prefer to wait for a public demo. The developer has said a public demo is planned, but has not announced its date.

Neither option has a published price for an access key or a stated hardware purchase requirement. Mole Plays’ recruitment announcement describes the test as free, and the topic concerns a digital Steam playtest. There is no confirmed physical edition or required accessory in the published information. You do not need to buy a controller, headset, gift card, or other product simply to follow the documented request process.

What is not confirmed?

A few unanswered questions are important because they affect expectations. Mole Plays has not published a tester limit, acceptance rate, selection criteria, or guaranteed response time. There is also no confirmed date for the public demo or commercial release. These gaps should not be filled with estimates or rumors.

The published materials also do not specify whether closed-test progress will carry forward, whether every applicant will eventually be invited, or whether all platforms beyond Windows PC will be supported. If any of those details matter to you, check an official Steam listing or a new Mole Plays announcement for an explicit update.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For now, the safest interpretation is straightforward: the closed beta application exists and is marked released; the documented entry route is to request access through its separate listing or use the developer’s stated contact route; and admission remains uncertain. The planned public demo is a future option, not a dated one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Another Hero, Please playtest live?

Yes. SteamDB marks the beta app as released and records a timestamp of October 28, 2026 at 15:51:41 UTC. That is the playtest app’s release timestamp, not the commercial launch date of the full game.

Why is the Another Hero, Please playtest not showing in Steam?

The most likely explanation is that the test has a separate listing from the main game. Search for the exact title “Another Hero, Please Playtest” and use that page’s request action. This is a practical inference, not a confirmed explanation for every account.

Does requesting access guarantee entry?

No. Mole Plays has not published a tester quota, selection criteria, acceptance rate, invitation schedule, or guaranteed response time. A request is not an admission confirmation.

How can I ask for a key if I cannot find the Steam listing?

Mole Plays’ recruitment announcement points interested players to the Steam page and offers a developer contact route for requesting a key. Use the contact route as published by the developer; a key is not promised to everyone who asks.

What platform does the playtest support?

The documented playtest platform is Windows PC. SteamDB lists the test as single-player. macOS, Linux, console, and Steam Deck support are not confirmed.

What languages are listed for the playtest?

SteamDB lists English and Czech for the interface, full audio, and subtitles.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Are PC system requirements available for the playtest?

The published descriptions identify Windows PC as the platform but do not provide minimum or recommended hardware requirements. Check the Steam listing for any requirements the developer adds.

Will my closed-test progress carry over to the full game?

The published playtest materials do not specify whether progress will be saved, reset, or carried into a later release. Do not assume that test progress will transfer unless Mole Plays confirms it.

Is the playtest an open public demo?

No. It is described as a closed playtest with a request-based access process. Mole Plays has said that a public demo is planned to follow, but has not announced a date.

When does the public demo or full game release?

No public-demo date or full-game commercial release date has been published. Mole Plays said on October 11, 2026 that a public demo was planned after closed playtesting.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do I need to buy an accessory or Steam gift card to join?

No required accessory or physical product is identified in the published playtest information. The documented route is to request access through Steam or use the developer’s stated contact route.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Search for the separate Another Hero, Please Playtest Steam listing, sign in to the account you plan to use, and select Request playtest. The beta is marked released, but access is not guaranteed. If you cannot join, follow the official Steam page and Mole Plays announcements: a public demo is planned, but no date has been announced.
