Act 1 of Gears of War: E-Day has 13 collectibles across four chapters: three in Emergence, four in Survival of the Fittest, two in A Gear in Need, and four in Back in the Fold. Search the landmarks below before advancing each objective. The locations are drawn from three third-party guides; where their names or directions differ, the entry notes that uncertainty.
Act 1 collectible count at a glance
| Chapter | Collectibles |
|---|---|
| Emergence | 3 |
| Survival of the Fittest | 4 |
| A Gear in Need | 2 |
| Back in the Fold | 4 |
| Act 1 total | 13 |
The total and chapter split are reported by iTechGuides Team (2026); DayOne also lists 13 items across these chapters. Treat the route cues as practical guide directions, not as an official collectible map.
Chapter 1: Emergence — 3 collectibles
1. Monster Jaw (also called Monster Claw)
After the first enemy encounter, search the street around the news kiosk before following the next objective. DayOne places the collectible on an enemy corpse after the first melee fight; other guides describe the nearby street or kiosk area. The guides differ on the exact name and micro-location, so check the bodies and ground around the kiosk.
2. Bloody Transit Worker’s Helmet
After entering the maintenance tunnels, look into the room or opening on the left. Search near the body or lockers for the helmet.

3. Front Page of the Kalona Times
After helping the civilian trapped under rubble, cross the street to the cafe or bakery. Search its kitchen, counter, and back area. DayOne spells the paper’s place name “Kelona”; the other guides use “Kalona.”
Chapter 2: Survival of the Fittest — 4 collectibles
1. KPD Police Bulletin
In the police station’s first room or bullpen, inspect the desk or table on the left before going farther into the station.
2. Bloodied Police Chief’s Badge
In the room where the police chief’s body is pinned to the wall, check beside and below the body.
3. Army Recruitment Pamphlet
In the Gears recruitment center, search the back-wall and reception-desk area, around the medals or COG display.

4. Try On Pilot Helmet
Inspect the helmet display in the same recruitment center, near the pamphlet. One guide identifies a helmet in the row. The guides list the pamphlet and helmet in different orders, so check both locations before leaving.
Chapter 3: A Gear in Need — 2 collectibles
1. Tomatoes, Canned
In the Pay and Save supermarket, search the first warehouse area along the left side. Check the boxes and any cardboard tray on the floor.
2. Broken Lancer Bayonet
After the Tai sequence in the supermarket, inspect the nearby Locust bodies around the produce sign and store exit. One guide places the item on the body to the right of the sign when facing the exit; other directions are less precise. Check the bodies before leaving.
Chapter 4: Back in the Fold — 4 collectibles
1. Front-page of the Tyrant Chronicle
At the chapter start, use the large “lounge” sign as a landmark and search the adjacent alley.
Rank #3
- 7.00'' Damon Baird Figurine
- With Firearm
2. Anti-UIR Propaganda Poster
On the route toward the clinic, turn right into the nearby alley and check the wall.
3. Landa Memorial Medical Supplies
Inside the clinic, search the table in the room with the exit doors before opening those doors to leave.
4. COG tags of Private Brick Rosso
After fighting out of the clinic, search behind a police car near the body.

How to clean up a missed collectible
- Check the chapter tally. Use the in-game collectible progress display, if available, to identify which chapter is incomplete.
- Replay the relevant chapter. DayOne says the game lets players start a new save at a selected chapter, which can help with cleanup.
- Search before advancing. Several items sit in side rooms, alleys, or areas close to an objective route. Recheck the named landmark before leaving the area.
- Use audio or controller feedback only as a backup. Showgamer reports slight controller vibration and a quiet Gears melody near collectibles. These cues may be easy to miss during combat, so do not rely on them instead of checking the locations.
What to know about the location directions
iTechGuides Team, DayOne, and Showgamer overlap on the chapter landmarks and all cover the 13-item route, but some item names and precise placement cues vary. The notable naming differences are Monster Jaw versus Monster Claw and Kalona versus Kelona. The recruitment-center entries may also appear in a different order. When a cue is not exact, search the whole described area rather than assuming a single object or position.
As of October 4, 2026, Xbox lists Gears of War: E-Day for Xbox Series X|S and Windows 10/11, with a full release date of October 6, 2026; the listed date is still two days away. The guide directions here are based on third-party coverage available by October 4, not an official publisher checklist.
