To enable DLSS in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered on PC, open the game’s graphics options and switch on the DLSS feature or mode shown by your installed build. To check whether NVIDIA’s DLSS model override is active, open the NVIDIA overlay with Alt+Z and go to Statistics > Statistics View > DLSS. Check the game’s own setting as well: the overlay’s override status does not confirm that every native DLSS option is enabled.
Check that you have the Remastered edition and a current build
This guide applies to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, released September 29, 2026. CD PROJEKT RED says the edition is a free upgrade for owners within the same platform ecosystem. Its September 28 feature announcement says, “Added support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, together with Ray Reconstruction.” CD PROJEKT RED’s Remastered announcement confirms the feature, but does not give a readable in-game menu path or the minimum GPU for each feature.
Check for updates before troubleshooting. The publisher’s official site listed a PC hotfix dated October 1, 2026; the listing does not specify what it changed, so it cannot establish whether it affects DLSS. Check the publisher’s current news listing.
Turn on DLSS in the game
- Launch the Remastered PC build and open its graphics options.
- Find the DLSS feature or mode exposed by your build and enable or select it. The publisher’s accessible announcement confirms DLSS 4.5 support but does not state the exact option labels or navigation path; use the controls actually shown in your game rather than relying on a path for an older edition.
- Apply the setting, then return to gameplay. If DLSS or a particular mode is missing, check that the game is updated and that your GPU supports the feature being requested.
The Remastered announcement says system requirements changed but does not provide readable GPU rows in its text. The exact minimum GPU for each Remastered feature is therefore not established here. The 2022 update’s statement that DLSS 3 required compatible hardware concerns the older update; it should not be treated as a current Remastered requirements list. See CD PROJEKT RED’s Remastered feature and requirements announcement.

Verify the NVIDIA DLSS model in the overlay
- In-game, press Alt+Z to open the NVIDIA overlay.
- Choose Statistics > Statistics View > DLSS.
- Read the displayed DLSS model or override status. NVIDIA describes this view as a way to see the intended model and the configured NVIDIA App DLSS override status. NVIDIA’s DLSS 4.5 article and NVIDIA App guide document the overlay.
You can also press Alt+R to toggle the configured statistics display in-game. Treat the overlay as a check of NVIDIA App status, not as proof that every native game DLSS control is enabled. For that, verify the game’s own graphics setting too.
Choose a DLSS model for your GPU and goal
Do not assume the newest model is automatically the best choice for every card. NVIDIA says GeForce RTX 20- and 30-series GPUs lack native FP8 support, which can make DLSS 4.5 model presets M and L carry a heavier performance impact on those generations. NVIDIA says users on those GPUs may prefer model K. It also describes stronger quality-versus-performance benefits from newer models in Performance and Ultra Performance modes. The practical choice depends on your GPU generation, selected mode, and whether you prioritize image quality or frame rate. Read NVIDIA’s DLSS 4.5 model guidance.

If DLSS is not showing or the overlay does not match
- Confirm edition and updates. Make sure you are running the Remastered build and check the publisher’s current PC updates. The listed October 1 hotfix has no published DLSS-specific change detail in the cited listing.
- Check the native setting. If the NVIDIA overlay shows a model or override but the game setting is off, enable DLSS in the game’s graphics options. The overlay status is not a substitute for the native control.
- Consider hardware compatibility. Game support does not mean every DLSS feature or model is available on every GPU. The precise Remastered GPU requirements by feature are not established in the publisher’s readable announcement, so do not infer a minimum model from the older DLSS 3 update.
- On Linux with Steam Play/Proton, use NVIDIA’s documented diagnostic only if needed. NVIDIA documents the native DLSS indicator with
__NGX_SHOW_INDICATOR=1024. For Steam Play/Proton, it documentsDXVK_NVAPI_SET_NGX_DEBUG_OPTIONS=DLSSIndicator=1024,DLSSGIndicator=2. NVIDIA notes that Proton indicator settings persist in the game’s wineprefix; set the indicator values to zero to remove them. These are advanced diagnostics, not standard Windows setup steps. Consult NVIDIA’s driver documentation.
