In the iPhone Photos app, select the pictures, tap Share, open Options, and set the format to Current before choosing Mail. This prevents Photos from converting the image format, but it does not guarantee byte-for-byte original files or that the recipient’s email service preserves them. For Apple’s documented option to send an original file with its edit history and metadata, use AirDrop; Apple says All Photos Data is available with AirDrop only.
Send several iPhone photos by email

Open Photos and navigate to the view containing the pictures.

Tap Select, then tap each photo you want to send. If Show Selected appears, use it to review or adjust your selection.

Tap Share, then tap Options before choosing a destination. Set the format to Current to prevent format conversion. If you do not want to share location information, turn off Location.

Choose Mail, address the message, and send it.
Apple also documents an in-draft way to add a photo: tap in the email draft, open the attachment actions above the keyboard, choose Photo Library, select the image, and tap Done.
What “full resolution” means in this workflow
Current is the Photos setting to use when you want to avoid a format conversion. It is not a guarantee that the message contains a byte-for-byte copy of every original or that the recipient’s mail service will leave the attachment unchanged. Apple describes All Photos Data as sharing the original file along with edit history and metadata, but its current Photos guide says that option is available with AirDrop only. If preserving all that data is essential and the recipient is nearby with a compatible Apple device, AirDrop is the documented choice.

Choose the right sharing method

When email attachments are too large
If Mail reports that the attachments exceed your email account’s maximum, follow the onscreen instructions to use Mail Drop. Apple Support says, “With Mail Drop, you can send attachments up to 5 GB in size.” Recipients have 30 days to download them.
Mail Drop is a large-file workaround, not a delivery guarantee. Apple cautions that a recipient’s email app may have a smaller message-size limit; transfer time depends on connection speed and attachment size; and high traffic or excessive downloads can affect access to a Mail Drop link.

Check location and other shared information
Photos sharing can include information such as the date and time, location, device, and caption. Review Options before sending and turn off Location when you do not want to share location information.
