How to copy a TikTok video link on iPhone or Android
How to copy a link in TikTok on a phone is the same on iPhone, iPad, and Android in most current versions:
- Open TikTok and find the video you want to share.
- Open the individual video if you started from search results, a profile, or a feed. Opening the post first helps prevent copying a profile or search-results URL instead.
- Tap the curved Share arrow, normally shown along the right side of the video.
- Tap Copy link. If the option is not visible, swipe sideways across the row of sharing options.
- Open Messages, Mail, Notes, a social-media post, or another destination.
- Tap and hold in the text field, then tap Paste.
The copied URL remains on the device clipboard until another copied item replaces it. Tapping Copy link does not open a message, publish a post, or save a video file. How do you copy a link to your own or someone else’s TikTok video?
The same Share → Copy link method works for your own video and for another creator’s publicly viewable video. Open the individual post, tap or click Share, and choose Copy link.
You do not need to download the video or follow the creator merely to copy the URL of a public post. Following a creator, downloading content, and copying a link are separate actions. A recipient may still be unable to view the post if the post is private, deleted, restricted, age-limited, or unavailable in the recipient’s region.
How do you copy a TikTok link on a computer?

- Paste the profile URL into the destination app.
On the web, open the profile and copy its URL from the browser address bar. A TikTok profile address normally includes the creator’s username, but copied links can use different formats or redirects. TikTok’s help material includes profile-sharing and username-link context in its profile-related support results.

Can you copy a link to a TikTok comment or reply?
TikTok does not provide a stable, universally available copy-link control for every comment or reply. Comment-link behavior can vary by account, region, app version, and thread type.
If a comment-specific Copy link option appears, use it. If it does not, copy the link to the video instead and tell the recipient which comment or reply to find. Do not assume that every comment has its own permanent public URL; current TikTok link guidance treats comment links as less consistent than video links.

What should you do if “Copy link” is missing?
A missing Copy link button does not always mean that sharing has been disabled. The option may be hidden in a scrollable row, affected by an app change, or unavailable for a particular post or account. Try these fixes in order:
- Swipe left or right across the share-options row to reveal more actions.
- Tap More if your phone opens the operating system’s share sheet.
- Open the individual video in a browser and copy the URL from the address bar.
- Update TikTok through the iPhone App Store or Google Play Store.
- Close and reopen TikTok, then try the video again.
- Try copying the link for another publicly viewable video. If another video works, the problem may be specific to the original post.
- Use TikTok’s in-app problem-reporting option if the control remains absent.
TikTok’s troubleshooting guidance recommends keeping the app current when investigating changed or missing controls; consult the TikTok troubleshooting search results for current support topics.
Why does a copied TikTok link open the wrong place?
A TikTok link can open a profile, sound page, app-store page, or unavailable-post message instead of the intended video if the wrong page was copied, the device redirects the URL, the post is no longer available, or another service altered the shared text.
To check what happened, reopen the exact video, use that video’s Share → Copy link control, and paste the result into Notes or another plain-text field before sending it. A commonly displayed video URL may resemble https://www.tiktok.com/@username/video/1234567890123456789, but TikTok can also use short or redirecting share URLs. The visible format is less important than whether the pasted link opens the intended individual post.
If the link opens the TikTok app or an app-store page, the URL may still be valid; the recipient’s device is choosing how to handle TikTok links. If the link opens an unavailable-post message, check whether the creator deleted the post, changed its privacy, or limited who can view it.

Can someone without TikTok open a copied link?
A recipient can generally try opening a TikTok link in a browser, but TikTok may prompt the recipient to open or install the app. A copied URL does not guarantee access to the post.
Private, deleted, age-restricted, region-restricted, or otherwise unavailable posts may not be viewable by the recipient. A link can therefore be copied correctly even when the underlying TikTok post later becomes inaccessible. What is the difference between copying a TikTok link and downloading a video?
Copy link copies a URL that points to a TikTok post; Save or Download, when available, stores content locally on the device. Copying a link does not download the video, and downloading is not required to share the post’s URL.
Download availability can depend on the creator’s settings and TikTok’s rules. Screen recording and third-party download services are separate methods with different privacy, copyright, and platform-policy considerations, so they are not normal solutions when the goal is only to copy a link. TikTok treats downloading as a separate feature from link sharing in its download and sharing support material.
