Clampdown is a free side quest added in Cyberpunk 2077’s Edgerunners 2 Update 2.5. To unlock it, finish The Heist and its immediate follow-up, complete two Wakako Okada gigs, and answer Wakako’s message about King. The safest Reaper-chip order is V first, Wex second if you want Wex to live, and Miguel last. You can then recover V’s equipment, choose how the prisoners are handled, defeat Darius Bale, and escape with Coronation and the complete five-piece King gear set.
How do I unlock Clampdown?
Clampdown becomes available after Night City opens up again following the early main-story sequence. The official requirements are:

- Complete The Heist and its immediate follow-up sequence.
- Complete any two gigs for Wakako Okada.
- Wait for Wakako to message you about King, reply to her, and track Clampdown from the Journal.
There is no officially stated Street Cred threshold or fixed waiting period. Some guides cite Street Cred 16 as a fallback trigger, but it is not an official prerequisite. Clampdown is included in the free Edgerunners 2 Update 2.5; neither Phantom Liberty nor the Ultimate Edition is required. The update supports PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
How do I start the prison section?
Travel to the BuryGer near the MLK & Brandon fast-travel point in Santo Domingo. Sit at the marked table and accept King’s job to extract Miguel. The meeting dialogue does not change the outcome.

At the prison, use Remote Deactivation on the terminal visible from the cell. Go through the opened gate and into the bathroom. Look under the bench for the smuggled duffel bag, then interact with it to equip King’s temporary outfit and the revolver Coronation.

What order should I deactivate the Reaper chips?
Enter the Security Cortex after leaving the bathroom and defeating the guards. Loot an Access Badge, jack into the large computer, read the criminal-record files for V, Miguel, and Wex, and then access the Reaper server.
- Deactivate V’s Reaper first. This removes the immediate time pressure.
- Deactivate Wex’s Reaper second, if you want to save Wex. This optional action must happen before Miguel’s chip.
- Deactivate Miguel’s Reaper last. This step is required for the rescue to continue.
If Wex’s chip is disabled, walkthroughs report that Wex survives the riot and escapes. Leaving it active results in Wex’s death. Wex does not provide a different main reward.

How do I get V’s equipment back?
After the chip sequence, follow the hallway to the elevator and prison yard. Fight through the guards and continue to the Armory. Interact with the equipment locker there to recover V’s original weapons and gear before the final escape.
Should I listen to King or Meshuga?
At the later Crisis Control/Reaper-server decision, your choice changes the prisoners’ fate, the escape scene, and King’s reaction, but it does not change the principal rewards.

How do I escape the prison and finish Clampdown?
- Fight through the remaining prison sections.
- Defeat Darius Bale.
- Continue to the Morgue sector.
- Plant the mine on the back wall.
- Step behind the door and let the mine detonate.
- Move through the opening and continue the escape.
A four-star NCPD pursuit starts after the breach. Keep driving or running until the wanted level reaches zero. The closing calls from Meshuga and King then complete the quest.

What should I do if Clampdown does not appear?
Verify that The Heist and its immediate follow-up sequence are complete, then finish two Wakako gigs. After that, wait for Wakako’s message, reply to it, and check the Journal for Clampdown. Because no official fixed timer or Street Cred requirement is published, do not treat a particular Street Cred value as guaranteed; the message is the actual trigger to watch for.
