As of October 4, 2026, there are no verified GTA 6 graphics or performance settings to choose from: the game has not launched, and Rockstar has not published its settings menu, graphics modes, resolution or frame-rate targets, or PC requirements. It is scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Until official settings and the released game can be checked, specific “best settings” advice would be guesswork.
What is confirmed about GTA 6 platforms and release
Rockstar Support lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the platforms for which GTA 6 can be preordered. Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 announcement describes it as a single-player game for those consoles and schedules its release for November 19, 2026. That date is still in the future as of October 4, 2026.
Rockstar’s product page labels PlayStation 5 as where the game “Plays Best On.” That is platform labeling only; it does not establish a performance advantage over Xbox, or promise a particular resolution, frame rate, or graphics mode.
Why there are no reliable “best settings” recommendations yet
The official sources reviewed do not establish a GTA 6 graphics menu, quality or performance modes, resolution, frame-rate cap or target, variable refresh rate (VRR) support, upscaling behavior, or PC launch timing and system requirements. Console recommendations require the shipped menu and measured behavior; PC recommendations require published PC requirements and a confirmed PC release.

Footage analysis, rumors, predictions, and GTA 5 specifications cannot fill those gaps. In particular, no claim that a specific setting, console mode, display feature, or PC component improves GTA 6 performance is verified by the official information available as of October 4, 2026.
What to do now, by platform
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S
These are the confirmed platforms in the official sources. There is not yet enough published information to recommend a graphics preset, resolution, frame-rate mode, or console-specific adjustment. Once the game is available, use its actual menu and behavior as the basis for a choice rather than assuming either console offers a particular mode.

PC
Rockstar has not published GTA 6 PC requirements in the sources reviewed, and those sources do not confirm a PC launch date. Avoid upgrading a computer based on purported GTA 6 requirements. When official requirements become available, compare them against the exact CPU, graphics card and video memory, RAM, operating system, storage, and driver in your PC.
Rockstar’s DirectX Diagnostic Tool (dxdiag) instructions explain how to inspect PC system and display details. They are useful for gathering your current specifications, not for determining whether a PC can run GTA 6 before its requirements are published.

Why GTA 5 requirements are not a GTA 6 upgrade guide
Rockstar’s current recommended requirements for GTA 5 Enhanced include an RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT graphics card, 16 GB of dual-channel RAM, and a DirectStorage-compatible drive. These specifications apply to GTA 5 Enhanced, not GTA 6. Treating them as GTA 6 minimum or recommended requirements would be unsupported.
You can consult Rockstar’s GTA 5 PC system requirements for that game’s configuration, but they cannot tell you what GTA 6 will need.

How to choose settings once the game can be tested
When GTA 6 launches and its options can be examined, first decide what matters most to you: smoother motion and response, or visual detail. Then compare the available modes and settings using evidence for your platform, rather than assuming a label such as “performance” guarantees a particular result.
A useful comparison should measure the trade-offs that matter in play:

- Image quality versus frame rate.
- Output resolution versus internal rendering resolution and any upscaling.
- Input latency versus visual effects.
- Stability in demanding scenes versus performance in quieter areas.
Any published test should identify the platform, game build or version, display, scene, and measurement method. Without those details, a result may not transfer to your setup.

Rockstar lists a PS5 Standard Edition and a physical code-in-box option. Rockstar’s store says the box contains a download code and no disc. That retail format does not provide a graphics mode or improve performance.
