If the feature still does not appear, check Samsung’s support information for your exact model, software version, and country before concluding that the phone does not support it.
Check the Camera app first
- Identify the feature. Write down the specific mode or capability you want to find; support for one camera feature does not establish support for another.
- Open Camera and inspect the mode row. Swipe along the modes at the bottom of the viewfinder, then tap More to see additional modes. Samsung’s instructions use this route for features such as Single Take and Expert RAW on eligible devices. The available modes depend on the phone model. Samsung’s Galaxy camera guide describes the mode controls and notes that screens and settings can vary by carrier, software version, and model.
- Look in Photo or Video controls. Some modes may be surfaced from the quick controls in Photo or Video rather than appearing as a separate item in the mode row.
- Check Camera Assistant. On some software versions, optional modes can be enabled there. The menu path and available options vary by phone and software release.
Check Camera Assistant if a mode is missing
Samsung India’s One UI 8.5 guidance, updated April 29, 2026, describes Night, Single Take, and Dual Rec as modes that may be integrated into Photo and Video or enabled through Camera Assistant. In that regional guide, the steps are:
- Open Camera.
- Open the camera’s quick controls, then open Camera settings.
- Tap Camera Assistant.
- Under Additional modes, enable the relevant option if it is listed.
The guide warns that available options vary by model. Its instructions are specific to the described One UI 8.5 workflow in India; your phone may use different labels or a different route. See Samsung India’s Camera Assistant instructions.
Check eligibility for features with model lists
Expert RAW
Expert RAW is a separate Samsung app, not simply a camera mode available on every Galaxy phone. On a supported Galaxy Z Fold6, Samsung US instructs users to open Camera > More > Expert RAW and tap Install if prompted. If the entry is absent, check whether your exact model and regional variant are eligible rather than assuming that installing an app from another source will make it compatible. Samsung Japan’s Expert RAW support page provides an eligible-device list and says to launch or download the app through Camera > More; it was updated August 18, 2026. That list is for Japan, so use Samsung’s support information for your own market and exact variant: Samsung Japan: How to use Expert RAW.
Director’s View and Dual recording
Samsung US says Director’s View and Dual recording are available on selected devices running One UI 3.1 or later. The software threshold is not a guarantee of support for every phone meeting it: the same US support page lists the S24 and S25 series as not supporting Director’s View. Treat that information as the scope of the US page, not a universal statement about every regional variant or later update. See Samsung US’s Director’s View and Dual recording guidance.

Hardware-specific camera capabilities
A shared series name does not mean every model has the same camera hardware. For example, Samsung’s S22 support page says 10x telephoto is available only on the S22 Ultra. Check the exact model, not just the Galaxy family name: Samsung’s Galaxy S22 camera guidance.
Use your exact phone and software details to verify support
If the feature is still missing, record the complete model name or number and the installed One UI and Android versions. On the phone, these details are available under Settings > About phone and Settings > About phone > Software information (labels can vary). Use that information to find Samsung support guidance for your country or sales region. Samsung notes that available screens and settings can vary by carrier, software version, and model.

When comparing guidance, keep these details aligned:
- Exact model and variant: camera hardware and eligible modes can differ even within one series.
- Software version: a mode may move or be presented differently after an update.
- Country or sales region: support pages and eligible-device lists can be regional.
- How the feature is delivered: it may be built into Camera, appear under Camera Assistant, or require a separate Samsung app such as Expert RAW.
What a missing menu entry does—and does not—tell you
A mode missing from the first screen is not enough to show that your phone lacks it: it may be under More, inside Photo or Video controls, or hidden until an optional Camera Assistant setting is enabled. If it remains unavailable after checking those locations, the reason may be model eligibility, hardware differences, software, carrier, or regional variation. Check for updates and consult the local Samsung support page, but do not assume an update will add the feature unless Samsung documents support for your model.
