If you know your Samsung TV’s current PIN, change it in Settings. If you’ve forgotten it, use the remote’s reset-button sequence; Samsung says this resets the PIN to 0000. Menu paths and remote controls vary by TV model and software version, so use the instructions that match your set.
Change a Samsung TV PIN when you know it
On 2025 Samsung TVs, Samsung’s U.S. instructions give this path:
- From the Home screen, open Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Change PIN.
- Enter the current PIN.
- Enter the new PIN, then enter it again to confirm.
This path is specified for 2025 TVs; it is not a universal menu path. For other model years, Samsung Colombia lists these generation-specific examples for products purchased in Colombia:

Samsung Colombia also publishes paths for 2025 and 2026 models. Because its instructions are regional, check your local Samsung support page or the TV’s manual if a menu name or path differs. Samsung notes that menus may vary by model and software version.

Reset a Samsung TV PIN you’ve forgotten
Turn on the TV and enter the sequence for the type of remote you have. Press each button in order:

| Standard remote | Mute > Volume Up > Return > Volume Down > Return > Volume Up > Return |
Samsung UK says the PIN should reset to 0000. On a Smart Remote, the first step uses the combined volume/mute control; on a standard remote, begin with the Mute button. Once you regain access, change the PIN in Settings.

Do not use a factory reset as a substitute for this PIN recovery method. Samsung’s guidance specifies the remote sequence for resetting a forgotten PIN.

If you have not set a different PIN, try 0000. Samsung’s Latin American guide identifies 0000 as the default, and Samsung’s U.S. support says its remote procedure resets a forgotten PIN to that value. Samsung also says PIN creation is required during initial setup on 2025 TVs.

What to do if the menu or reset sequence does not match
- Confirm your model and year. Use the TV’s model information to find its manual or your region’s Samsung support instructions; menu labels can change with model and software version.
- Check what the restriction applies to. Parental controls may be managed by a connected set-top box or by an app rather than by the TV. In that case, contact the device manufacturer or service provider responsible for those controls.
- Check the remote type. The recovery sequence starts differently on Smart and standard remotes. If your remote is lost or damaged, verify that a replacement is compatible with your exact TV model before buying one.
