You cannot install or play Company of Heroes 3: Operation Torch yet. As of October 30, 2026, Steam lists the campaign as upcoming downloadable content (DLC) with a planned release on November 25, 2026. You can wishlist it now. When it releases, you will need the base game Company of Heroes 3 on the same Steam account, then install or update the base game and start Operation Torch from its single-player campaign menu.
Operation Torch is not a separate game or standalone executable. Steam distributes it through the Company of Heroes 3 library entry, so a missing Install button before release—or a missing campaign before the DLC entitlement is activated—is expected.
Why can’t I install Operation Torch on Steam yet?
The DLC has not released. Steam’s product listing gives Wednesday, November 25, 2026 as the planned release date, so the campaign is not installable on October 30, 2026. Its store page can be viewed and wishlisted, but a playable download will not appear until the release is made available to your account.

Relic Entertainment’s official FAQ also gives November 25, 2026 as the release date. That means there are two different access states to keep straight: before release, you can visit the listing and add it to your Wishlist; on or after release, you can acquire the DLC and use it through the base game. A Wishlist entry is not a purchase, a license, or an early download.
What you can do before launch
- Open the official Steam store page for Company of Heroes 3: Operation Torch.
- Select Add to Wishlist. Steam can then notify you when the DLC becomes available.
- Check that you can sign in to the Steam account that owns Company of Heroes 3, because the DLC is tied to that account’s base-game entitlement.
- Keep the Steam client updated. The client should handle the purchase, license activation and download when the release is live.
Wishlisting does not grant access, preload files or a free copy. It only records your interest and can provide a release notification. If you are preparing ahead, the useful tasks are to identify the correct Steam account, check whether the PC meets the published requirements, and leave enough available drive space. There is no need to search for an Operation Torch installer before the launch date.
Do I need Company of Heroes 3 to play Operation Torch?
Yes. Steam explicitly states: “This content requires the base game Company of Heroes 3 on Steam in order to play.” You need both entitlements on the same Steam account: the base game and Operation Torch.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →A copy of the DLC by itself will not create a playable standalone game. If the base game is owned on another Steam account, family-sharing or account switching may not provide the entitlement you expect; first sign in to the account that owns both products.
This prerequisite is separate from installing the software. Having Company of Heroes 3 installed on the computer does not by itself prove that the account currently signed in owns the DLC. Likewise, owning Operation Torch without the required Steam base game does not satisfy Steam’s stated requirement. Before launch, make a note of the account that owns the base game; after release, acquire or redeem the DLC while using that account.
How do I install Operation Torch after the November 25 release?
After release, Steam delivers Operation Torch through the existing Company of Heroes 3 installation. Follow these steps in order. The two entitlements are the first check; the Library entry and campaign menu are the installation and launch route.
1. Buy or redeem the DLC on the correct account
On or after November 25, open the Operation Torch Steam page while signed in to the account that owns the base game. Complete the purchase or redeem a valid Steam code. Verify that the transaction appears in your Steam account’s licenses or purchase history before troubleshooting the download.

2. Install or update Company of Heroes 3
Open Library in Steam and select Company of Heroes 3. Choose Install if the base game is not on the computer. If it is already installed, let Steam finish any update queued for the game. DLC files and compatibility changes can be delivered as part of that update rather than as a separate desktop shortcut.

Check the storage requirement before choosing an installation drive: Steam lists 40 GB available storage for both the minimum and recommended configurations. The relevant check is available space on the drive where the Steam library is installed. If the game is already present, allow any queued update to complete before judging whether the DLC is accessible.
3. Confirm the DLC is enabled
In the Library, right-click Company of Heroes 3, choose Properties, and open the DLC section. Operation Torch should be listed and enabled for the signed-in account. If it is unchecked, enable it and close the dialog so Steam can schedule the required download.
If the DLC is listed but has no download activity, check Steam’s Downloads page. A paused queue, another game using the bandwidth, or a pending client restart can delay installation. Confirm the DLC status before reinstalling the base game: the Library’s DLC setting is the direct place to check whether Steam recognizes the content for that account.
4. Launch the base game
Start Company of Heroes 3 from the Steam Library after all updates finish. Operation Torch should appear in the game’s single-player campaign selection. It is not expected to appear as a separate game in the Library and should not be launched through a separate executable.
5. Select Operation Torch from the campaign menu
Choose the Operation Torch campaign from the single-player screen. The Steam listing describes a narrative-driven campaign following U.S. forces during the Allied invasion of North Africa, with German forces opposing them. It contains 15 missions and a persistent progression system in which campaign choices and upgrades affect the run.
In practical terms, the Steam installation is only one part of access. The expected chain is: the base game is owned on the account, the DLC entitlement is active, the game is installed or updated, and the campaign is selected from within Company of Heroes 3. If any link is missing, use the matching check rather than looking for a standalone Operation Torch app.
Where is the Operation Torch DLC in Steam?
Look in three places, depending on the state of the release:
- Before release: the Steam store page and your Wishlist. There may be no Install control.
- After purchase: the Company of Heroes 3 entry under Library > Properties > DLC.
- After installation: the Operation Torch campaign option inside Company of Heroes 3’s single-player menu.
Because the product is DLC, Steam may not create a second Library tile. Searching the Library for a standalone “Operation Torch” application can therefore produce no result even when the DLC is correctly owned. The lack of a separate tile is not evidence that the purchase failed; check the DLC tab on the Company of Heroes 3 entry and then the game’s campaign menu.
These locations also help distinguish common problems. A Wishlist listing before launch means the product is not yet playable. A listed but disabled DLC entry after launch points to Steam’s DLC management setting. An enabled entry with completed downloads but no campaign option is a different situation and may need technical support.

What does Operation Torch include?
Operation Torch is a single-player, story-focused campaign about the U.S. invasion of North Africa. The opposing army is German, and the campaign is structured as 15 missions rather than as a separate multiplayer title.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The listing also describes persistent progression across the campaign. Your decisions and upgrades are designed to carry through the campaign structure, so the content is intended to be played from the campaign interface in the base game rather than as an isolated mission pack. The persistent system is a feature of the campaign experience; the available official description does not specify particular upgrade trees or individual mission objectives, so check the in-game campaign presentation for those details after release.
The key expectation for anyone buying it is therefore straightforward: this is additional single-player content for Company of Heroes 3, not a new standalone game. It has a defined 15-mission campaign and progression that continues across that campaign. It does not change the installation route: Steam still manages it through the base game’s Library page.
What PC hardware and storage does the Steam listing require?
The published requirements call for Windows 10 and DirectX 12. They are Steam’s stated minimum and recommended targets; actual performance can vary with resolution, graphics settings, drivers and other software running on the PC.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10, 64-bit processor and operating system | Windows 10 64-bit |
| CPU | Intel i5 6th generation or AMD Ryzen desktop processor with four cores at 3 GHz, or equivalent; 64-bit | Intel i7 8th generation or AMD Ryzen desktop processor with eight cores at 3 GHz, or equivalent; 64-bit |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GTX 950 or Radeon R9 370-class GPU | GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5600-class GPU |
| API | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Storage | 40 GB available space | 40 GB available space |
Steam lists 8 GB RAM as the minimum and 16 GB RAM as the recommended amount, with 40 GB of available storage in both rows. Ensure the drive selected for the Steam library has that space available before starting the installation.
Minimum and recommended are different readiness checks. The minimum row specifies a four-core processor at 3 GHz and graphics at the GTX 950 or Radeon R9 370 class, while the recommended row steps up to an eight-core processor at 3 GHz and GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5600-class graphics. For memory, Steam doubles the listed target from 8 GB minimum to 16 GB recommended; the storage figure remains 40 GB in either row. These are the official comparison points rather than a guarantee of a particular frame rate or graphics setting.
Before release, compare your PC with the whole row, not just the RAM or GPU. A machine meeting the minimum is not the same as one meeting the recommended configuration. The listing specifies Windows 10 and DirectX 12 in both tiers, so check those alongside the processor, graphics card, memory and available storage. The requirements do not say that PC-cleanup or optimization software is needed, and no such utility is a prerequisite for installing the DLC.
What should I check if the campaign does not appear?
Work through entitlement and download checks before reinstalling the entire game. Most missing-DLC cases are caused by the wrong Steam account, an unchecked DLC entry or an unfinished update.
- Confirm the account. Open Steam’s account menu and verify that it is the account used to purchase or redeem Operation Torch and the base game.
- Check the DLC list. Right-click Company of Heroes 3 in the Library, open Properties > DLC, and confirm that Operation Torch is present and enabled.
- Finish downloads. Open Steam’s Downloads page and allow all Company of Heroes 3 updates to complete. Remove a pause or bandwidth limit if one is preventing the update.
- Restart Steam. Exit the client completely, reopen it, and allow it to recheck licenses and queued content.
- Launch the base game again. The campaign is selected from Company of Heroes 3, not from a separate Operation Torch shortcut.
If the DLC is absent from the Properties page after a completed purchase, do not buy it again immediately. Recheck the transaction account and Steam’s purchase history first. Also make sure you are checking after the stated release date: before November 25, the absence of an installable campaign is expected, not a post-purchase fault.

What if Steam says I own the DLC but still will not download it?
Ownership and installation are separate states. Steam can show the license while a download is waiting for the client to restart, another download to finish or the game’s library drive to become available.
Check that the Company of Heroes 3 library folder is online and has at least the listed free space. Then restart Steam, revisit Properties > DLC, and watch the Downloads page for a new content update. If the DLC remains enabled but no files are queued, record the account, purchase and error details before contacting support.
Do not confuse a Library tile with proof of ownership: Operation Torch is not meant to be a separate application. The useful evidence is whether the content appears under the Company of Heroes 3 DLC settings for the account that holds the entitlements. If the entry is there and enabled, finish pending downloads and restart the client before escalating.
Which support team should handle an access problem?
Use Steam Support for purchase, redemption, ownership and missing-entitlement issues. Include the Steam account, transaction or code information and screenshots of the DLC entry when submitting a request. Relic’s official announcement directs players to Steam Support for purchase and access issues.

Use Relic’s help portal for technical problems, bugs or gameplay-related feedback after the DLC is installed. Relic directs players to its help portal to review support articles or submit a new request, and Steam’s Company of Heroes 3 support page identifies Relic Entertainment as the official support provider. In short, Steam is the route for store and license questions; Relic is the route for technical troubleshooting and game feedback.
A useful escalation order is: verify the account, verify the DLC entry, finish downloads, restart Steam, then contact Steam for entitlement problems or Relic for technical faults. Reinstalling before those checks can consume time and bandwidth without fixing an account-level issue. When reporting the problem, state whether the game is installed, whether Operation Torch appears and is enabled under Properties > DLC, whether downloads are complete, and what error appears. This gives support a clearer starting point.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can I install Operation Torch from a separate executable?
No separate Operation Torch launcher is expected. The Steam listing identifies it as downloadable content that requires Company of Heroes 3, so installation and launching are managed through the base game’s Steam entry.
If a desktop shortcut or old shortcut points to a missing file, open Steam Library and launch Company of Heroes 3 directly. The campaign selection screen is the supported access point once the DLC is owned and enabled. Looking for a separate download page or executable is the wrong troubleshooting path for this product.
What is the correct pre-release checklist?
- Wishlist Operation Torch on its Steam store page.
- Record the Steam account that owns Company of Heroes 3.
- Check that the PC meets the Windows 10, DirectX 12, CPU, memory, GPU and 40 GB storage requirements.
- Plan to purchase or redeem the DLC on or after November 25, 2026.
- After release, update Company of Heroes 3 before looking for the campaign.
Until the release date arrives, the absence of an Install button is normal. After launch, the expected path is Steam Library, Company of Heroes 3, DLC enabled, completed update, then the Operation Torch campaign in the single-player menu. The Steam page is the source for current release availability and purchase details; Relic’s FAQ confirms the announced November 25, 2026 date.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Operation Torch missing from my Steam Library before release?
The product is listed as upcoming DLC, not as a playable application, until its planned November 25, 2026 release. Before that date, Steam normally exposes the store page and Wishlist option rather than an installable Library entry.
Will Operation Torch create its own desktop shortcut?
No separate shortcut is required. The campaign is delivered through Company of Heroes 3 and is selected from that game’s single-player campaign screen after the DLC license is active.
Does the campaign keep choices and upgrades between missions?
The Steam description says Operation Torch uses persistent progression, with campaign choices and upgrades carrying through its mission structure. That progression is part of the campaign experience rather than a separate application mode.
What should I provide when reporting a missing-DLC case?
Give support the Steam account involved, the purchase or redemption record, the DLC status shown under Company of Heroes 3’s Properties > DLC page, and any error text. Steam handles purchase or entitlement problems; Relic’s help portal is the route for technical issues, bugs or feedback.
How much storage space does Operation Torch require?
Steam lists 40 GB of available storage for both minimum and recommended configurations. Check the drive used by the Company of Heroes 3 Steam library before installation.
When can I download the Operation Torch campaign?
Steam lists Wednesday, November 25, 2026 as the planned release date. Before then, you can wishlist the DLC, but the campaign is not installable.
Can I play the DLC if I own Company of Heroes 3 on another account?
Steam says the content requires Company of Heroes 3 on Steam. Check the account signed in to Steam and make sure the base game and DLC entitlements are on that account; account switching or sharing may not provide the entitlement you expect.
